- After our failed attempt to enjoy the Isles of Scilly in a previous episode undeterred we sail our boat back in improved weather and start to show you the true beauty of this archipelago of islands in the Atlantic, just a few miles off the U.K. coast.
We set off before dawn to round the infamous headland of The Lizard and begin sailing further west than we’ve been before and find ourselves in a race with another sailboat and confused as to how he’s making such ground - it turns out however that someone is cheating!
We arrive after a great sail and spend the night at anchor but awake to thick fog. In order to make our way to our next anchorage we have to pick our way through shallow water littered with rocks using our chart plotter and radar.
We finally make it to the stunning anchorage of St Helen’s Pool and begin to relax. We catch lobster in our pot, enjoy a beach bbq with other cruisers and enjoy the beauty of these islands.

Thank you David. Scilly was amazing in the good weather but its the sunshine we're after. I'm sorry to say that you may be even greener once we get to the warm crystal clear waters of Greece... if all goes to plan!

Now you’ve made me really jealous! What a lifestyle! What a life! The beauty of the Scillies, the smell of the sea , a fresh caught lobster and the skirl o’ the pipes. Cheers Ian. We’d love a little ally bottom Highfield or similar but, with the baby stay dividing the foredeck, there’s barely room to keep it on deck and I’m not sure about keeping it on davits if we go offshore. It is something to think about in a couple of years when we get a bit more cash. The other thing is we can barely plane with the inflatable with two of us in. Might have a better chance with a little RIB. Cheers 👍🏻

Cheers guys... Yep dinking the dinghy was a pain but luckily it was the floor not the tubes so it could have been worse but it was such an awesome evening that it softened the blow a bit! And yep we're all good thank you :-)
Amazing 🥰 do you always carry that lobster cage with you? Is it not spacious, or does it fold up?
Hi Rachel. We do carry it all the time but it does fold flat. They are on Amazon for around £30. Really handy 😊🦞
