      Thanks Mike! It does seem like a long time ago since filming that episode! But it’s certainly a day on the water I won’t forget! All the best, Morgan

      Thanks Craig! I felt like i needed to make this one in “2 parts” as I really didn’t want to rush the story and the footage I took of the sailing kept getting better. Hope you enjoy part 2 when it publishes this week.

      Really appreciate the feedback 🙏 I’m very new to TikTok, so still figuring it out. Using past footage while I’m working away, but I’ll be back on Safar in a couple of weeks, so expect a steady flow of content soon 😀

    I saw my first pod of dolphins this year and was so excited. I felt like a kid, they have such a strong effect. But your footage is just WOW ! well done. And nice to see St Marys too, maybe next year I'll get there. Fair winds and safe passages .. Dave

      There’s nothing quite like it, I’ve been lucky enough to see dolphins on many occasions now and I promise that feeling never gets old! I’ll alway run up to the bow and pay them attention, glad you liked the shots! I was really happy the underwater bits came out so well!

    Great video content but I especially love the prolonged sailing footage with background music and the two minutes of sunset footage… it’s perfect watching while I’m sat in my bath after a wet day at work.
    Thanks for posting 👍🏻

    Like your film good sailing. What type of boat do you have, looks like an Alan Pape design?

      Great spot Nick, she was Alan Papes first Saltram Saga 36. I was unfamiliar with his work until I found Safar, but I’m a big fan now!

      Love the design and I know there was a 40ft one made. I have a Twister but need to win the lottery to get a Saga.

    Many times before I have seen that wooden bow in front of the bimini of other similar boats, with those three carved holes... it seems to be designed to put the boom on top... but it is that the only purpose or has a special function for the trim of the sails....??

    • @sailingsafar
      @sailingsafar  2 года назад +2

      Hi Jorge, you’re right! it’s called a “boom crutch”, they’re typically fitted to older more traditional boats and the sole purpose is to sit the boom onto.
      I personally really appreciate having it on Safar, on days when the the boat is rocking side to side with no wind, it’s great to rest the boom down and not listen to it bang back and forth!

      I’ll usually try to fly her loosely and to the tell tales, I think the cut of the high cut foresails gives the illusion of being oversheeted in pictures. But you’re right, for sure there will be plenty of footage of me sailing when I haven’t got it quite right as I’m focusing on the camera 😅
