- In this final part of our series about our life living on a sailboat and exploring the Isles of Scilly we go ashore to explore some more of these stunning islands and find a “wow” as we walk around every corner.
There are white sand beaches, crystal clear and turquoise waters on all of the islands in this archipelago just off the U.K. mainland but each has its own unique character.
Along the way we meet a famous arctic Walrus named Wally and discover the origins of a well known phrase - a total balls up! We take a bus man’s holiday in the form of local trips to Bishop’s Rock lighthouse in the rugged western isles and one to the seals that inhabit the wild eastern isles.

Thank you for sharing your adventures. Some great footage.
Thank you Gareth…it’s easy to get good footage of such a stunning place! 😊😎⛵️
Loved the one word summary contrasting Bryher ('rustic') and Tresco (more 'manicured'). Spot on, as was the love for St Martins
Thank you, I’m glad you liked it 😊 The islands were stunning and we hope to go back one day 😍⛵️
Wow - so very apt. Lovely reminder of June in November. Amazing crystal clear water. Very informative video mate. Excellent commentary. Hilarious walrus! I was expecting that dory to sink! Looking forward to episode 8. Fair winds and a following tide!
Hi Bill…yes I thought the dory was going down as well and jumped in with the harbour master with one of our big pumps…Luckily it had buoyancy that kept it afloat. Anyway thank you as ever for your kind words. I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊
Honeymooned on the isles in 2017. Loved it. Loved st martins esp. did the low tide event. Really want to go back some time soon.
Cheers Neil….it is a special place. Would love to do the low tide event…must be quite a thing to see. I’m sure you’ll get back there soon. It’s the kind of place that hold you in its grip isn’t it? 😊
Brilliant as always.
Thanks Crash….much appreciated 😊
It’s amazing this is part of England. UK. Fantastic video. My dad loved sailing ⛵️
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it. The Isles of Scilly are a truly breathtaking place and, in the right weather, rival anywhere in the world 😊😊
Cheers guys!
Great footage , lovely video , thanks Iain
Cheers Ian 😎⛵️
We would have never guessed there would be white beaches. I totally get why they would call it the Bahama' of England now. You guys do a great job showing off the islands.
I think the islands are the beach jewels in the U.K. crown but navigating between the islands takes some care and if there is a storm coming in head for the mainland! 😊😊
Lots of lovely clean sand and beautiful blue skies.Bit different from Zummerzet in late November. Aaaaaaah!
It’s an amazing place Norma 😊⛵️
Wow truly amazing stunning beautiful
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you all for sharing
🌟🙏⛵️😊😊☀️🌎
I have a catamaran
Which was made for beaching
May I ask please
Is all ok to beach at these beautiful islands
⛵️☀️🌎
I would love to visit there next spring time 🙏
Wishing you both and all
Truly beautiful amazing safe sailing adventures 🙏⛵️🌎
Hi, thank you for your kind comments as always 😊 Yes there are many beaches you can dry out on with a catamaran and we’re not aware of any restrictions out in the islands. A cat will be a great boat to visit the Isles with as it gives you the freedom to get into much shallower water as well as dry out. Pick some settled weather (not like we had in episode 4!) and the Isles of Scilly will stun and delight 😍
