    Hi doctor! What if niacinamide is a serum and tret is a thick cream, should it be nia first following the thinnest to thickest rule in application or tret first following the rule that most impt actives go first? If i apply tret first, nia serum wont probably be absorbed well. And lastly doc, do tret and vit c antagonize the effects of one another, the reason it cannot be layered aside from possible irritation? What if there is no episode irritation, can they go together at the same time?

    • @irenegaile
      @irenegaile  2 года назад

      The important actives RULE only applies if the 2 ingredients have the same consistency, for example same silang serum or same sila na cream. Otherwise the consistency RULE applies :)
      In your case, niacinamide serum first, followed by the tretinoin cream.
      L-Ascorbic Acid (LAA) & tretinoin are both irritating ingredients
      if you want to combine vit c and tret, go for vit c derivatives instead of LAA -- i have a video on this coming out tomorrow

Everytime i stop using her products bumabalik lang ang acne ko :( is doxycycline effective for eliminating acne in the long run?

    • @irenegaile
      @irenegaile  3 года назад +1

      Doxycycline is only one of many options dermatologists give for acne. It always depends on your acne severity on consultation :) ang important gumagaling ka at nag rerespond ka to treatment. And acne is not that simple thats why i always recommend to get a proper consultation. It’s not something that u can “cure” like a bacterial infection. :)

      If youre trying out new actives - especially irritating ones - best to start one by one and slowly incorporating them into your routine because if you react you wouldnt know kung alin sa mga actives caused the reaction. Another tip is to do patch test for a few days especially if you have sensitive skin.
      And of course if u have skin issues talaga - like acne, pigmentation etc, best to consult a derm and you can both work on a skincare routine :)

No problems naman for 2 months that I've been doing this, but I'm afraid na this isn't the right order because mas thick yung consistency ng retinol cream ko compared sa gel-type moisturizer ko.
