This is the Soundboks Go. If you’re looking for a super rugged portable box speaker that can take a whole lot of abuse, keep up with your constant on the go, outdoors life style… all while packing a whole lot of volume in a relatively compact form factor… then the Soundboks Go is for you. The Soundboks go is literally going to give you Partybox 310 max volume performance in a more rugged and smaller body than the Partybox 110. However, the Soundboks Go is not the best if you plan on using it indoors. But nonetheless, lets checkout the Soundboks Go and see what its about.

You are the only person I look for these reviews. No stupid intros, you get straight to the point, and you give all the details!!
I’m glad that you appreciate it.
agree
I think the price should be $499. I just bought a Soundboks 3 last week. If I had both. I think for outdoor duty. I would probably always take the 3. Sure it's larger; but it should sound much better. Much more bang for the buck. And the pro panel has so much value to me. Since I DJ with mine. They definitely should have added more inputs.
I got both and I’m so disappointed with the go. Smh for the price I could of paid a little more and got another SOUNDBOKS 3.
@@Us0253 the go sounds great though, hrm.
The sound quality wasn't there for me,I figure if they are paying me big bucks than the sound should match,I had a pair of these and didn't even make it to one show.
These are maybe good for backyard parties
Thank you for the review. Really appreciated the comparaison with the 3 others categories of speakers. Looking forward to watching the versus video. Even though I don't wait for it to buy the Go !
Definitely will add to my soundboks collection later on great video!
Being able to change the battery at any time is a really nice thing, JBL really should learn this stuff
They did with the Eon One Compact. Much cheaper than this a miles more features and uses.
Specially because the battery on my JBL 310 died and support in Europe is almost non existent. I now have a portable speaker that I can only use with power cord.
Thank you for indepth full review 🙏 like you said this is a very niche speaker and the way you describe the sound at 75% your mics really couldn't analyze the sound because it's that loud. I thought about reviewing this speaker but I'm a homebody. The other things I could think about you already talked about including that hefty price tag. Keep up the good work 👏
yeah, trying to get the sound test with the SB Go is very hard cause of the Front firing exuhst ports.
I love this band since long time. I have soundboks V1 and V2. The V3 is not necessary for my configuration for free power DJing. But with this small size, this soundboks go will be mine, same decibel with light weight!
Good information thank you.
Thanks for the video
Many people dont realise but If you want to dj with a portable speaker, soundboks are your best option because of the low Bluetooth latency. My jbl 310 sounds amazing at home at 50% and thumps outdoors on max but lasts 5 hours unplugged and the terrible latency means if you want to use a dj controller you need to plug in to AUX which gives a noticeable drop in sound quality and loudness.
How do you think the indoor performance compares to the UE Hyperbooms indoor performance? Price isn’t really a factor for me in this choice but I’m kinda stuck between the two. Great video btw.
i bet the go would be a great speaker with the sb 3 since the sb 3 have more bass then sound and with 2 tweeters and 3 woofers i bet it would sound amazing!
Sounds fantastic indoors as well.
Consider using binura microphone during tests. Thanks. Love your videos
Great review! I'd love to get some Soundboks goodness but it appears that you can't get the Go or Gen 3 anywhere right now (4/23/2022). Your Amazon link has nothing but Gen2 available.
Cant wait for this! I have the soundboks 3 & its a monster & glad they made 1 a little manageable!! Its dope 🤙🏽
Soundsboks best to use outdoors, camping, day at the lake/beach, pool parties, bbq’s & any outdoor events!
yeah, for outdoors use its great. But for indoor gym... not so much. you just have to know what to expect
How would you rate this in the back seat of a car (pair)?
Great informative video👍🏾
I have got mine today. Really happy about it! Going to test it outside tomorrow to see how it is then
tell the police I said hi. and if you get a noise complaint, tell them it is for science.
How do you like it do you think it was worth it ? And how’s the bass?
@@mikeaguilar8527 well. Indoors it is not Great, but have not tested it out outdoor yet. It is problaby a lot better outside since the sound can go out. The bass is Great. Not to much. And you have bass+ which give it more sound and bass
@GYMCADDY Nice video of course all your videos. One question direct AC not battery using down battery cycles live ( problem or not ) 100% vol? Thanks advance...
I got one literally only for outside use. I have the aiwa exos 9 for indoors so I’m okay with the performance
Any recommendations for the loudest speaker thats best for travel
I have a Soundboks 3 and I love it. But there is one flaw and with the Go. I would love to have a USB port, so it can play my music directly from it instead of bluetooth.
The USB should have all the features like pause, rewind, advance and shuffle along with a window to see title and artist of tracks.
The soundboks go reminds me of a more portable and louder Ion Explorer Extreme
Would you say this goes louder then my Sony mhc-v7d which I use for indoor and outdoor use ( max 120 dcb-c ) this is also portable which trumps my Sony that needs to be plugged in a wall and also much smaller … would appreciate a response !
Why would you mute the music when conparing the different speakers?
Can you somehow protect the exhaust ports? I wouldn't want water in there stuffing it up!
Every damn speaker should have a removable battery
I wonder why they chose to go with vents on the front, rather than a PR on the back. The latter would have made this speaker a lot more weatherproof (and critter-resistant)...
I would really like if you could put the dimensions and weight also on centimeters and kilograms! Love your channel, greetings from Finland!
You should be able to get the dims from their website.
What does soundbocks say is the reason not to listen while on AC only?
Does the app work with the soundboks 2?
Is it better than the awia xos 9cause I have the 9maybe have to cop me one also ?
Brilliant review for a buyer. I was super looking forward to this, but for $700, with such a finicky power supply, and that port setup - it's a hard pass from me.
Yeah you’re better off with the sony or a jbl party box 310.
How does the Aiwa Exos 9 compare to the Soundbokks Go and all the other speakers mentioned in this video? Thx good vid brother!
Blows it away, soundbox is only louder but sounds like a toy...
Soundboks is just loud... sounds marginal... exos 9 has great sound and decent volume..
Can you do a review of this one with the diamondboxx model l3 please?
Did you ever find this comparison?
How does Soundboks Go compare to Diamondboxx Products?
How does this compare to JBL Boombox 2?
Thanks for this fair and thorough review. Personally, between the sound quality and the limited features, I don't find the Go very compelling at $699. For me, there are much better options for $200-300 less new. I could save even more money if I were to dip into the open box/refurb market.
hmm how deep is the tophat mount socket
Do these speakers have Bluetooth?
I apologize if I didn't hear you say if it did or not
Why no teufel rockstar air?
Since soundboks is used on-the-go, why don't the make a 12volt charger? That would be awesome.
Regarding the final test: Shouldn't the tablet be set to DB-A (instead of DB-C) and be at a distance of one meter (3 ft) ? DB-c always shows higher numbers and it is getting even more at that so close distance.
Would be smarter to have a Dual Battery Slot. This way music never Stops! You can swap while it switches to the other battery while you charge the drained battery. Keep the music going!!
That’s actually a really cool idea
@@GYMCADDY makes perfect sense
Thought on pre-order one of those, but chose not to do. I was watching videos about this Sounboks, and now yours and have my final opinion. Yes I want a good speaker for festivals and outdoors, but when it comes to winter you gotta keep your speakers running so the battery keeps its efficiency and doesn't lose too much power while being empty most of the time. So I thought maybe waiting for the JBL Boombox 3. 3 way sound system, I could use this in winter connecting it to my laptop, while streaming on my TV as a "Soundbar". The way boombox is build it's a fake Soundbar. So you use it all year long right?
Was so excited für the soundboks, but things like missing deep base, not loading it with AC and getting 100% or more like with JBL.. Hmmm. For that 700 Euro, and 50 more for the strap. If I buy a Bluetooth speaker and pay more than 500, it should be there for me and give me the best experience every single day not just in Summer or when it's hot outside...
yes, I am also very excited for the Boombox 3.
It is worth noting that the battery on the Soundboks is a Lithium Iron Phosphate type that unlike any other speaker can withstand from sub-zero temperature to scorching heat. In Europe it's regularly used as PA system for extreme skiing events and competitions due to it's ability to be used outdoors in literally any weather.
Not having a mic port stop me COMPLETELY from keep looking at this speaker, was perfect before I learn that.
Huge design flaw! You can't just plug it in the wall and use it at full volume??
About getting a new battery, mentioned in the video:
They have been out of stock for over a year now. I’ve been emailing Soundboks for a battery and they won’t let me buy one. You’ll have to resort to 3rd party battery if you need an extra. Big disappointment on this part, to an otherwise awesome speaker.
can you charge the batteries separately from the speaker? so if you use one battery, the other is charging. Is that possible?
Yes!
It's a bit disappointing you didn't include an outdoor soundcheck, especially since it is - as you yourself emphasized - it's mainly to be used as an outdoor speaker..
would this be a good idea for a gig singer with a guitar?
No XLR inputs
100points for drum n bass in the test
Where is Rockster air?
I had the v3 and hated the sound so went with the diamond boxx
Diamond boxes sound great and go loud...
Bass+ is the best option
Speaker looks great but no bass no buy
Play some Slayer or OLD Metallica on it MOMMAS BOY
the price is TGDH
Is this louder than the Aiwa Exos 9 ?
Yes... but not better in sound
Can we get a Diamondboxx L3 review?
It doesn’t need a review it’s great trust me I have one and I’ve been blown away never had a speaker with better performance at this size and battery powered it’s an amazing deal
@@doividgaming4058 how are the mids? And just for comparison sake, what are some seconds for you in terms of speakers. Curious what you're comparing it to.
@@steve31785 honestly the mids are great, since you have the treble and bass dials you have full control over the sound signature. I’ve had all sorts of speakers like the Hyperboom the JBL Xtreme and the Fluance FI70b just to name a few but by far this is my favorite one with the best quality
Diamondbox L3 sounds more full and far better sound quality....
Thank you for review! Everything was good until the ports part: only one aux is a big no for me, especially for that price. And no option to use it without the battery is also bad. I see why GYMCADDY (why we don't even know your name? Gymcaddy itself is so outdated and not in the line with the channel) tries to find some pros here, but on the other side we are having another new type of a battery, that cannot be used somewhere else, and you forced to not to use speaker just plugged in. It is all a marketing crap that we have to avoid.
Are you ever going to have a look on MInirig? These seems to be one of the best bluetooth/portable speakers ever. I know it is pricey, and then cost for delivery and customs, but it still worth every penny.
I've owned about 25 bluetooth speakers (including soundboks 2, partybox 710 and Aiwa Exos-9) and the minirigs are the cleanest sounding portable speaker I've heard.
@@steve31785 And damn powerful for that size. I got one recently and most likely will go to full 2.1 set soon or later
Man these soundbok speakers need some proper low end bass! Ya they get loud but the sound is like a portable p.a speaker! (Bose s1) nd the bigger soundbok is like a portable p.a speaker when you higher the bass there's hardly any mostly highs, mids and volume
you just have to know what to expect. The Go is best for outdoors use. Indoors it struggles
@@GYMCADDY For that price I expect more then weak bass, all highs nd upper mids in my opinion at least have the bass mode actually hit some deep bass they focused to much on getting the most volume out a small package
And the idea that they focused to much on highs and mids for louder volume is very much true being you yourself said indoors it ain't good if it was a great sounding balanced speaker at the least it would sound great indoors being it is advertised for indoor and outdoor use
Might as well buy another 3rd generation. I guess that's what I'll be doing
Indoor mode sounds so bland. Bass + sounds the best 👌
my thoughts exactly
Dude how did you kill the battery pack after only 3 years when it is rated for up to 1000 charge cycles? That means almost one complete charge every single day🤣🤣🤣
Does it have a less powerful tweeter than the soundbox 4 ?
This soundboks go is like the SB3 it was designed to sound loud and that's it, but doesn't sound very good at low volume indoors, it doesn't have that Hi-fi sound like some other bluetooth speakers
Doesn't sound good at any volume... 😬
If this doesn’t connect to a karaoke mixer then they lost a customer
No mic input for karaoke i guess i'll pass...
Bass is sure underwhelming, all high bass
$60 for a strap?!?!? Holee damn! Yep, Soundboks is WAY WAY WAY overpriced. $700?!?!? It's the perfect speaker for "More Bucks than Brains" club members. 🤣
SB’s doesn’t want the speaker to be played without a battery. I’ve reached out to them and explained what a terrible idea that was and they clearly don’t care. They want you to always have to buy batteries from them which are very expensive. You should be able to play your speaker plugged into a outlet without a battery. I’ve had the first generation speaker and man did it suck knowing you couldn’t listen to your music full volume if your battery was low. You always had to have extra batteries. These speakers feel like a gimmick to be honest. Until they listen to the consumer they are never going to be able to compete with JBL,Sony, LG, and other brands that don’t have a battery gimmick. It is a good option to have but it was really dumb to take the option away of plugging into an outlet to listen at full volume with no battery.
Total miss with no xlr at this price point.
Way to expensive. I already disliked the sound quallity of the Boks 3 compared to my JBL PB 310. Soundboks has horrible sound and very Bad Deep Bass for it's price and I can't imagine how bad this 700€ Boks go must be for it's high price.
what a scam...saying 121 db? but delivering max 109db...just 1-3db more than a jbl partybox 300 which is half the price...not even half more like 1/3
Thanks for the review. It's a pass.
They lost me on the strap that costs $60.....What a sham.
Way to pricey for a one trick pony!!
I can't believe how bad it sounds like (like a kitchen radio) 🤣, a joke of a speaker for that price but its really loud... Teufel rockster air or even normal rockster are soo much better.
Rockstar cost 300$ more than the go so yea it should be better.
@@wishiwereinvegas4738 Rockster Air?
You can get Vifa Copenhagen 2.0 with discount for that price which sounds better than most stereo systems under 1500$...
The rockstar does sound better but how’s the battery life? not even close to a soundboks. which is going to last in the back of your pickup truck the longest getting tossed around soundboks easily. Which one is easier to carry around? the soundboks the rockstar is a lot heavier. Yea the rockster is a sound beast that’s is. The soundboks is better all around.
@@wishiwereinvegas4738 Rockster is maby 3x louder than soundbox, so on the same volume battery shouldn't be that much different and Rockster will sound 10x better...
Why do you comment the exact same thing on every Soundboks review video?
I'm sorry this shit is unreasonably overpriced
Expensive crap. Build your own.
How? Send it here. The model of the item
That speaker is garbage soundbox
What about the mackie Thump Go🎉
