    I like your colorful garden, Rosanne. Mine has bold shades as well, and it gives me so much joy. A garden isn't as an outfit where you combine no more than 3 colors, it is life in its fullest. Thank you, I love your style.

    I enjoy your videos soo much. Even though this was 8.5 minutes, it took me much longer to watch as I stop it repeatedly to search for the plants you have. I'm always backing up the video to see something again. So 8.5 minutes takes me an hour as I take notes, take screen shots and resesrch to order for my garden. I totally absorb your content. Very informative and such a beautiful garden!

    absolutely beautiful garden! I love the fact you have grandmas plant the golden globe in your garden to remind you of her. I have a Hoya Carnosa that was my husband's mother's plant. she got it as a cutting from her best friend 50 years ago and her best friend got it from her grandmother. The clone is the same age as the mother plant so this Hoya i have is about 100 years old. Plants are truly amazing!

    Yours is my absolute favourite garden channel. I can’t wait for each of your videos, as they come out. Amazing what you can do in a zone 4 garden. Do you have microclimate zones within it? Too bad that you can’t grow Japanese maples, although you hardly miss it. Thanks so much for sharing it with your grateful gardening fans.

    • @RosannesGarden
      @RosannesGarden  3 года назад

      Thank you Debbie! That is so kind of you to say! I agree, there are still a lot of options for Zone 4 gardening. I imagine that close to our house, on the south side, we are closer to a Zone 5. I know of one Japanese maple growing outdoors (at a nearby-neighbor's) , but it is quite protected. Some say the Black Lace Elderberry is a good substitute in garden plans. Yours in gardening.

    I am so happy to see this garden. My garden is suffering over water shortages. We are only allowed one day a week watering due to switching over to city water...their plans went wrong somewhere! And the temperature for the last 10 days has been in the low to mid 30C/86-93F. Tiny bit of a storm one night with 15 mins. of rain. Looking at your garden puts a big smile on my face, the flowers are stunning. I, like you prefer the bright saturated colours in my garden. Thanks for sharing Rosanne. 😀🌻🌼🌸🌺🐞🦋🐝🐝🐝

    Have you tried planting balsam? It reseeds itself every year. It will grow in sun or shade but gets between 3-4 feet in the sun. It does come up in many different colors, too. The first ones I grew were yellow but I didn't save the seed. When I bought a packet of mixed balsam it included every color but yellow. Now I need to buy your Irish Poet and the yellow flower, too! I always enjoy your videos! Thank you!

    It's beautiful Rosanne, love to see we got so many the same plants. I always plant the Cimicifuga in the back, the smell is a bit off-putting. The climate here is moist so mill dew is a problem. My Clematis The President is sad at the moment because of it. If you love the Jackmanii you love this variety too. Stunning blue.

    Rosanne, I so enjoy your videos! I was excited to see a new upload today. But when I heard you talk about the rudbeckia and your grandmother, I really felt connected. My grandmother grew these, we call them ‘golden balls’ in Kazakhstan. I live in the states now and I was looking forward to planting some of the flowers that would remind me of her as we were very close. Her name was Roselina. I saw your older video and got on a mission to find them. I finally found them on Etsy of all places and they are currently in bloom. I see them from my kitchen window and they make me so very happy. They warm my heart. I was wondering how you propagate them? I would surely love to have more! I would love it id you could share. Thank you so much in advance. Once again, your garden is magical! 😘😘😘 best wishes from upstate New York.

    • @RosannesGarden
      @RosannesGarden  3 года назад +1

      Hi Zamira,
      You certainly made my day! What a wonderful story of your grandmother too! ❤️😀🌻.
      The Golden Glow spread by runners. Wickipedia says, "Also known as stolons, runners are modified stems that grow from existing stems just below the soil surface. As they are propagated, the buds on the modified stems produce roots and stems." Be sure your plant is established and shows signs of wanting to "expand' its space. Then cut the horizontal stem, or runner, and replant elsewhere in your garden or in a pot with the stem or runner slightly below the soil surface and again, horizontal. This might be too much to cover in a comment....maybe another video! 😊. All the best!

      Greetings to Arizona! I'm glad you enjoyed the garden tour! Extreme heat and lack of moisture is a problem for a lot of plants. Best to go the native, succulent route I guess. There are so many beautiful cacti! One of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen was at Huntington gardens in Pasadena, CA. Among many other spectacular parts of the garden, they have the most colorful and gorgeous succulent "walk". Truly breathtaking.

    I love how your garden is so lush and green. Do you get very hot weather in the summer? Do you have to water often? I live in the UK and we have had very hot weather. I water every day but some plants I realise do not actually like it such as my Papaver poppy!

    • @RosannesGarden

      Greetings to the UK! Like much of the world, our summers seem to be getting hotter every year. This week, we will be in the ninety's every day (> 32 degrees Celsius) and so far we've had one inch of rain this summer. So, gardening is becoming more of a challenge. We have quite a few trees, so the dappled shade helps. We also have an irrigation system that waters much of the garden every other day. We also had the 2nd snowiest winter on record this last winter, so go figure. I do water our garden on the south side of our house every day when it's this dry. More and more, I'm buying perennials that are more drought resistant. This last week I bought five Rozanne Geraniums. Plus, native plants that are more adaptable. Sorry to ramble, but you got me in a chatty mood ;-)

      @@RosannesGarden I love hearing about your garden! Strangely enough, I bought 3 Rozanne Geraniums and they have not flowered at all.....maybe too much watering? They are in a sunny position. I think I buy too many perennial flowering plants because I love to be bee friendly, but forget about the lovely green plants that should make up the garden. Thank you for your reply.

      Sorry to hear about your Roxanne geraniums. I hope mine do better. Three are in partial shade and two are in full sun. We will see what happens. I think that overall diversity is the key. Some flowering, some green, some for pollinators, Some for enjoyment

    Очень нравится, что можно жить за невысоким прозрачным заборчиком, чисто символически ограждающем частную территорию. У нас же люди сейчас ставят сплошные высокие заборы, и это печально.

      I really don't know. I would imagine that the rhizomes would need to be large enough so as to not dry out over the winter.That would be my concern. For me, harvesting the seeds every fall and planting them in the spring works really well. I do start mine indoors about 6 weeks before the last frost. I know others that direct sow them outdoors. They are not fussy seedlings.

It would not be a relaxing video if the tone of her voice kept going up and down as she goes around her garden filming, now would it? She would sound like a crazy lady! Go get yourself some fried chicken, no one's paying you any mind!
