Nice demonstration - You are the king of add on services! 👍🏼
Mark Henderson Thanks. Well if you’re there anyway, why not.😃👍🏼
Actually getting one of these my self
Been hearing nothing but good things about them
LJ's window cleaning world Great! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.😃👍🏼
I have two vacs, one atom and a big industrial one. The atom is brilliant to keep in the van all the time for residential properties. Little pocket rocket
Dan's Windows and Gutters Great. Exactly.😃👍🏼
Another very satisfying video Ashley. Thanks for posting 👍☘
JD Thanks for your comment, it’s appreciated.😃👍🏼
Just ordered on today, looking forward to putting it to use.
Stuart May Nice one. I hope it goes well.😃👍🏼
Great video, I invested in the gutter sucker 2 years ago and it's been great, only problem is the shear size of it, its very big and bulky and for my domestic gutter clearing its a bit too much. The Skyvac you use looks perfect and now I've seen it can handle those jobs I reckon I will invest in one, thanks.
James Brown True, this little thing is so compact that it’s very convenient. It continues to handle anything I throw at it.😃👍🏼
Great video! What extension length can you get for this? Very intrigued to see what the powers like on 3rd story gutter etc. Have you experienced this yet?
Edward Baskerville It keeps surprising me with what it’s capable of. Someone commented the other day on a different video saying they’ve had it up to 4th storey and it’s still got the job done. The pole set will reach that high but I haven’t used it quite as high as that yet.😃👍🏼
Thanks very much for that video, I was wondering if that version of SkyVac could be a good option for my business (i know that you’ve got a more powerful version of it and was impressed with the work, but to expensive for me) as I am a window cleaner as well and expanding my offer, after seeing that video I think that’s in fact a good idea 👍 very compact and practical, does an amazing job, so quality work will be there for my clients, thanks again
Vivion Jonathan Great, thanks, I think it would be ideal for you. It keeps handling everything I throw at it, a great tool.😃👍🏼
Needs to be plugged in right! What length is the lead mr Macintosh, can you get around the entire house or will you need an extension lead?
Marcus Frost You only get an 8meter cable. I always carry a 50extension cable so I’m in no doubt that I will always have plenty to get round any property.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh It's a great tool but one thing that puts me off is the reliance on an electricity source which means you have to arrange for customers to be in which I would find a right hassle.. How do you work this Ash? Is there any product out there that would run off a leisure battery for example?
@@yoyo895 I'd buy a small generator
@@rickkozarits8930 Good idea!
Ash would you say taking the leap and getting the atom is worth it opposed to getting a big industrial one? I dont plan on doing massive jobs but dont wanna end up down the road having to upgrade it to soon?
Perry benton It’s hard for me to say really. It depends on your situation. The great thing about the atom is that it’s small and compact to store away in the van, and it also comes with lots of additional attachments so it’s a really g have Andy multi purpose bit of kit. You could also get a wet and dry vac cheaper elsewhere but it wouldn’t necessarily have those advantages.😃👍🏼
We live in Plano Texas, just to the North of Dallas. We are strongly considering this purchase. We are also looking at the larger commercial Skyvac vaccums, but perhaps the Atom will be the perfect tester gutter vac to see how it affects our operations. What has been your experience having tried both systems? Would you say that the Atom is a good investment with regards to most gutter cleaning projects? We are working to keep our guys on the ground as much as possible. Do you flush out the gutters with water also?
We like to remove all the solid debris, followed by a thorough flush with water to ensure the downspouts are clean and operational.
Are you able to dislodge most downspout blockages with this vacuum?
We send you a big HELLO from Dallas Texas!
We appreciate your help with this.
Hello! Thanks for your comments. The Atom is great! It is especially convenient and compact. Of course larger more powerful machines will get tough jobs done more quickly and easily. But the Mighty Atom continues to surprise me with what it can achieve and it is especially versatile for internal jobs as well as external.😃👍🏼
Hi. Have you ever had an issue with the Atoms standard poles getting clogged at all? I’m currently just using a cheap MaxiBlast 3000w vac and Ally poles but I’m fed up of kinking the poles and them getting clogged. Nevermind the weight of the vac!!! Looking into the atom or commercial
The Atom won’t quite have the power you are used to. But carbon poles are definitely better than aluminium ones.😃👍🏼
Hi Ashley I've just bought the atom and using tomorrow! They did say you dont need the filter for wet stuff? So if moss is damp etc in the gutter do you just take it out? Not 100% sure what to do on the first run. How long do the filters last?
Edward Baskerville I usually like to keep the filter in place. But if it gets totally soaked it will then start to affect the suction so just watch out for that.😃👍🏼
Thinking of getting a gutter vac system...Do you ever a problem with having to use customers electric? I'm worried about blowing a fuse or tripping something? generators to run these vacs so not really a option for me
Never a problem. I use an extension reel with a safety trip cut off feature. Make sure you always completely unwind the cable and it shouldn’t over heat.👍🏼
Hi would you recommend the Atom as a good gutter vac if just starting out? I’m looking at starting a gutter/roof cleaning business just weekend at first.
Comics shed Yeah, the Atom is a great place to start. It’s nice and compact, which is great if you have other equipment to carry as well, and it has so many different functions that I’m sure you will find other uses for it also.😃👍🏼
A.E.Mackintosh Cleaning Services thanks for your reply, it’ll be the first purchase of 2020 😊. I really enjoy your vids thanks for making them merry Christmas and all the best for 2020.
Thanks, I hope your plans go well.😃👍🏼
Hi Guys,
Just wondering if spinaclean is a good company to order the skyvac from?
Or any suggestion?
Thanks
Laz
Laszlo Buzsik Yes, and they are always very good with their customer service too.😃👍🏼
Thank you!
What camera equipment would you say is the best for these jobs Ashley,
The skyvac camera wireless system, or a GoPro setup? Thanks
xsarahxrichx xsarahxrichx I prefer the GoPro as I use it a lot for photos and video to share on my social media, but the Skyvac camera is very convenient too with the display that attaches to the poles.😃👍🏼
Just bought Ape-man from Amazon. Used with the app, works great for videos and photos to send on to customer.
Good idea.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh I bought the £500 skyvac camera when I set up, but wish I hadn’t and had got a go pro instead. Unlike the advert images the actual image replay is kind of black and white and tough to differentiate materials. Signal occasionally dodgy and the battery is horrifically short. Definitely can’t use it through a job. More of a quick get it up to view a spot then back down and immediately charge.
Sadly a month after buying my systems they then brought out the newer one and it was 200 pound cheaper at 300 instead!😩😊
Yeah, I always just use my GoPro, so easy to connect to my phone as a display.😃👍🏼
Do you often have to unclog down pipes ? do you use vacuum, high pressure pipe cleaning kit, drain snake, ladder,..... ? thanks
Most of the time the vac will unblock down pipes without any problems. There is even a longer tool available so you can reach right down into the bend.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh that's very good to know! Would you mind sharing a link for this add on that can go down into the downspout? Thank you in advance
I’m not sure where you can get this in the U.S. I’m afraid. I know spinaclean do all the attachments and accessories here in the uk. Maybe they will ship to you, but I’m not sure?👍🏼
What camera did you use for this? Had a cheap Chinese "GoPro" but need a new one. Thanks, Sean
sean evans I’m using a GoPro Hero7 at the moment.😃👍🏼
A.E.Mackintosh Cleaning Services get the skyvac camera Ashley, a brilliant combination, monitor is fantastic and not relying on internet from your phone to power the GoPro.
Yeah, I’ve got one, it’s great. But because I film so much of what I do on the GoPro, I usually just use that because it’s readily to hand.😃👍🏼
A.E.Mackintosh Cleaning Services can’t get on with my go pro, suffer with lack of data to use it on the move.
It uses Wi-fi to connect but I don’t think it should affect your data plan as you are not needing to access the internet for your device to control the GoPro.😃👍🏼
Where’s the power supply, is it from the customers property or is it wireless??
Yes I use the customers power supply.😃👍🏼
Up and atom Adam ant!!! This weighs about 8k . And has a water lift only 40" less than its big bro. A no brainer for domestic jobs. Will even blow leaves!!! Good vid.
Keith Baron Yes! I think it’s easy to look at vacs based only on the power of the motors. This has a 1600w motor, which is great, but it’s all about the water lift!😃👍🏼
Do you have a vid on your camera set up?
Not yet, but I will do something like that when I get round to it. Been so busy just recently.😃👍🏼
What system are you using to video all your guttering jobs?
G RVN I just use my GoPro. I put it up on a separate pole to get the footage, and then I can also check that I’ve cleaned everything out of the gutter.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh Hi Ash,
What type of pipe and how do you mount the go pro on?
Hugh - Freston Works
I use a spare window cleaning pole. You can get camera accessories from the Gardiner website.😃👍🏼
Hi Ash, I have recently bought one of these and when plugged into an extension it’s cuts off after around 30 seconds almost like over heating as it starts up again after a minute or so. Do you have any ideas as to why this might be happening?
Maybe it’s something to do with the extension lead you are using? Does it have an automatic trip cut off? You need to completely unwind the whole reel otherwise it can quickly overheat and trip the cut off switch.
@@aemackintosh hi Ash, thanks for the reply, top bloke! I have been completely unravelling etc but have bought another extension reel just in case and will test it tomorrow 👍 cheers mate
No worries. If you are still having a problem just get in touch with Spinaclean, I’m sure they will help you out.😃👍🏼
Hi thinking about investing in a skyvac atom do you think it could be used at a height of about 30ft thanks
Michael Mcdougall I have heard of people using it up to four storeys! So I’m sure it’s fine at 30ft.😃👍🏼
Hi Ash I keep getting static shocks from my atom, does this happen to you ?
No, never. That’s a bit odd.
Hmm must have a faulty machine, keep the vids coming have help me loads 👍
Thanks. I’m glad you find them useful.😃👍🏼
How do u clean the filter?
Jack Stratfull I just washed the filter with my regular garden hose and a soft brush. Then make sure it’s fully dried out before using it again. If you’re using it for picking up wet material some say you don’t necessarily need it, but I like to use it to be safe.😃👍🏼
Hi,
I have one and they are good but what do you do if the down pipe is completely clogged up?
Drain rods?
Darrel King Sometimes you just need to get the ladder out, but I find that the vac has a great reach into the down pipe at the top and it gets out most blockages with no problems at all.😃👍🏼
How fast did you have the video sped up ?
None of this footage was sped up, just a few cuts in time with the music.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh just trying to get a feel for how quick it’s sucking before I decide between the bigger or smaller machine 😂
It depends how bad the gutters are. A bigger more powerful machine will always handle the worst situations more quickly, but it depends on how much gutter clearing you actually plan on doing I suppose.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh they both have their pros and cons. I like the idea of not relying on a customer to be in for power and having a small generator in the van . But at the same time I want that power 😂
It’s a descision only you can make at the end of the day. I hope your plans go well.😃👍🏼
Hi can someone give me ball park figure for one theese to clean gutters and what kp suck do they do
