Awesome vid. Ive had my skyvac for bout 3 years wouldnt change it for the world. Great kit. All you need is the skyvac kit a camera an ladders and your pretty set up really. I also run a small honda generator but not often as mostly use the customers outlets.
Hi Pete. Don't knw if you did it or not but What we do when we clean the poles and hose out at the end is fill a bucket up with water and suck it up mate And it will clean it all out for you.
Nice one, I’m currently thinking of getting a gutter vac as I have a lot of 3 storey high, & two storey but awkward gutter jobs I normally do off the ladder, Working solo now so thought I better look into it..
Hi mate thanks for getting back i spoke to a electrician and if you type in what size power gen do i need for gutter vac in google in will come up on forms
The smaller buildings it would definitely save time to just go up the ladder with a bag and just use your hands. Just makes sense by the time you’ve set up the hoover and generator you could have bagged up at least 1 run. However Iv had to let jobs go simply because my ladders just didn’t reach 3 story or I was too scared tbh to get up that high with nobody to foot the ladder. So atm I got mixed feelings about it. Seems like it would be worth it for the taller buildings. Even still tho iv noticed the hoover can get most of the crapnout howver it doesn’t get absalutely everything where as if your doing it by hand you can make sure everything has been cleaned?
Great video how many poles did you need for the high part of the house i have 3 story houses around me where i live so i want to make sure i have the poles for the job, how much did you charge also please
If guttering is near ground level and could be inspected by the clients quite easily, I like to make sure it's spotless. Using a ladder ensures that. For higher guttering I just use the poles and inspect with the gutter cam to get it as clear as possible.
@@TradMan thanks, winter seasons it can get pretty dark soon. As I only have a pole, sqeeguee and a bucket I can only go to customers that can give me a bit of water.
Thanks kindly pal 😊 We always get advise like that from our accountant. They are very clued up on the pros and cons. We use TaxAssist here in North East Scotland
Big question, what do you do if a spout is clogged? Is that part of your gutter cleaning services? I'm adding this on (maybe) to my window cleaning business but spouts really stress me out. Could I pressure wash them free if clogged? I ain't getting on a ladder further than 2 stories to fix that so wondering if a three story job called you and you could reach the gutters with the vac but the spout was clogged, would you get on a ladder? What would you do?
Hey trad man I just watched your video for the boab from Moerman vs the samurai.. I started using the Moerman liquidator because of you and I love it I’m coming from the ninja channels which leave much detail work, but now im really searching for the best boab for the liquidator channels with fliq pads and handels I was thinking for the drywalker or the new xero crackle but this one is very expensive which would you recommend for my setup if you could make a video that would be great Tbh the ninja boab is not that bad for the liquidator channels I find but I don’t like the swivel of the boab
I personally use the Samurai boab. It's a smaller profile than the bulky drywalker and has different inserts for different setups. Really you have to try a couple of things and see what's best for your work style and comfort. I've tried every boab on the market and for me I like the samurai but nothing is perfect. Everything has something that could be improved 😉
good video, and thats a beautiful old house. I soon found the rubber necked part quite frustrating (bending everywhere) and it wouldn't perform that well. Noticed a huge difference when I bought the ridged hard neck.
Great vid TM! I’ve not long bought mine I’ve always used a bigger machine from GVS! The atom is a nifty yet pricey gadget. Dealing with heavy moss and soggy leaf laden gutters at height the release cuff is going to be a necessity! Also keep an eye on the filter condition more so with the atom due to loss of power as the bucket fills up quick! Otherwise it’s a great tool that fits nicely into a packed van. Stay glassy everyone!
Hi mate how do you find the gen works i have a 1400w gutter vac but have been advised by electricians that because they are motor vac they will draw 3 times the power on start up so 1400w will be 4200w
Works perfectly fine bud. Never heard that about the power draw issue before 🤔 I always let the geni run for about 30 secs to a minute before I plug in the extension cord and fire up the vac. The genie has an overload light on it which will light up if any issues, and it never has. I'm getting a 2800w machine next, around april time and I'll do a video on using it with the geni
Good to see you fully unwound the extension lead - lots don't realise a coiled up extension can cause a fire! The little gutter vac did you proud there. Was there a reason you went for a heavy geny as it's not big enough for a new bigger 3Kw gutter vac and a smaller 'suitcase' style one would be half the weight and similar costs? Great to see your first gutter vac job - you did a great job.
Thanks buddy 😁 I won't be getting the big industrial vac machine, too big and bulky for regular residential jobs with narrow passages to get down etc. If i did mainly commercial gutters i would get the triple motor vacs but i mainly do residential work most of the time. Got my eye on the atom sonic as its a twin motor, will work with the genie and is still a compact machine.
If anyone happens to be in the Jacksonville Florida area, I have a SkyVac Mighty Atom for sale. Like New works great but moving soon .I have it listed on craigslist. I will delete this comment when it is sold.

Great video TM. I’ve started my own exterior cleaning business up your videos have been invaluable.
Well done bud 💪🏻 I'm really happy the videos have helped you.
Kindest regards

Lovely job Pete. Thanks for the shout out. 👍
Thanks for all your assistance recently buddy! Truly appreciated.
Its a awesome bit of kit, i got the older version & love it 👍🏼
Happy days 💪🏻😉

Yeah its a great place! Thanks kindly ☺️
Super ! Bonjour de France

Great Video Pete, when you get back there for the windows please make sure to have your camera on :)
Hey Martin 😁👍🏻
Yeah that would be a job for the Unger Hydro 💪🏻

I have the 8 pole set now. Gets near enough anything. Price is about £5per meter
Hey Peter,
Why didn't you use the poles all the way round? It seems that using the ladder could have been avoided. 🤔😁
If guttering is near ground level and could be inspected by the clients quite easily, I like to make sure it's spotless. Using a ladder ensures that. For higher guttering I just use the poles and inspect with the gutter cam to get it as clear as possible.
@@TradMan That makes a lot of sense. That is some equipment that you've got your hands on. Looking good.
Yeah I have built it up a bit at a time. Got a nice little setup now. 👌🏻
Hope your keeping well
That sure is a pricey setup to clean gutters... great job! Enjoy the vids!
Thanks 👍🏻
Yeah it did cost a bit but worth it 👌🏻
Pays for itself pretty quick though
Did a £1.5m house last week for just under £300 so doesn’t take long
😁👍🏻👍🏻
Lovely jubbly
Hello, what’s your thought on window cleaning when the sun is down like evenings for houses?
I don't work in the dark unless it's really well lit area and client also has the lights on, but typically from 5pm I'm finished work.
@@TradMan thanks, winter seasons it can get pretty dark soon. As I only have a pole, sqeeguee and a bucket I can only go to customers that can give me a bit of water.
Advice on sole trader vs ltd company for one man beginning window cleaning ? Btw beard really suits you mate.

I only use ladders up to 2 stories. After that it's all vacuum powered cleaning
@@TradMan Thx bud!
Hi do you have a link to amazon for your phone holder on the pole ?cheers
Don't have the link, I just picked one that had good reviews. There's plenty options and not expensive 👍🏻

It's a cracking bit of kit! We want two machines so Trad-Girl can work with me. She would plug into mains and I'd use the genie 😁
Get yourself a rigid neck and your find it easier to get into the corners.
Yeah absolutely. On my shopping list 😅
