Cheers for the video, the camera you use gave me the idea of using the go pro on an extended window pole to inspect the gutters without using any ladders. Saved me from buying a drone. Thank you.
How refreshing to see someone quoting sensible and fair prices. Im certain that your customers appreciate you and your service, and regular work is what we want.

Thanks for the information Ashley. It's about the same price I charge. I still had to use a ladder on one job, due to a tennis ball stuck in the gutter.

Especially if you're using hand tools to clean it out. A bit of diesel and an hour's work. It's all profit pretty much

Good. You keep going lower and it fucks the market up. The higher the price the higher people will pay. They only have it done once every year or sometimes longer so £200 is fair
Very useful to know how others are pricing. I charge £3/m to empty and from £2/m to empty depending on how bad they are and how easy they are to get to. To measure a large step for me is about a metre. Keep up the good work Ash 👍
Squeaky Clean Dave Of course it will vary depending on your business and where you are in the country. I live in a cheaper area, and these gutters were not to bad at all. It was so quick getting them cleaned out with the Skyvac.🍂😃👍🏼

Do you clean the windows on the inside as well or just the outsides? Also, it would really suck to have to take out all the screens that are on a lot of windows!
This is the method i adopted about 9 years ago. As you highlighted in the clip it is best to have a minimum charge which i tell customers before i start the survey. In a few instances i have completed the survey and discovered that there was no detritus in the customers gutters and have sent them photographs to highlight this. Not even a thank-you. The cameras are okay but useless if the sun is shining too brightly. Allocating time to do the survey and say a couple of hours to clean the gutters for £60 seems okay and it's the avenue i go down as a rule. Then you realise you have to deduct 20% tax and £60 becomes £48 then petrol and other business running costs. These comments are not aimed at the very excellent instructional videos of the maker which i enjoy very much - it's just the musings of a professional cleaner trying to survive in an overcrowded marketplace.
Yes, you make some good points. My aim here is often to build a good relationship with the customer so that they will use a range of my services for years to come.😃👍🏼
Hi I don't mean to criticise but when I quote just for gutters, if not there already doing windows I have to take in consideration of time going there checking with camera, then having a chat and showing pictures or video, then booking in a time that works for all and then actually doing the job , this all takes up my time which we all know that means money. Just think that's a bit cheap. But it does depend on what part of the country you work in. All the best and have good Christmas 🎄
rizla 0 I live in a cheap area of the country and these gutters were not bad at all. Usually if I go to quote I will try to meet the customer at the job, and if they are happy I will aim to do the job there and then to save making two trips. I work very locally most of the time. I think it’s important to establish a good relationship with the customer and they will use you for other jobs in the future. Thanks for your comment. 😃👍🏼

@@fingersmcgee2762 while I agree to an extent, this guy is using very a expensive gutter vac which does a good job quickly and neatly. That’s worth a premium. Good pricing. I’m in the States and have a $50 minimum. I’ve learned a long time ago to have a minimum when factoring in experience. My customers are happy with it. Aside from the minimum we charge $1.00-$1.50 per foot depending on how bad they are. 9 times out of 10 I let it go for $1.00 per foot but we make good money and customers are happy. I hope you've raised your prices considerably. $180 Cad is my minimum. I think it's roughly $105 GBP. An average house is $250 - $300 cad. Going to do any job for $45 GBP hurts the industry by undercharging. I love you videos though but was really surprised how low you were charging for gutters.

Most UPVC gutters are fitted in 4meter lengths with a supporting bracket about every meter. Obviously this varies depending on the size of the property, and where the gutters are cut and joined, but it gives you an idea.🍂😃👍🏼
I normally charge £30 for an assessment. To cover the cost off a trip and ladder/camera set up. (Haven’t got time for time wasters). But it does look very professional to the customer to camera inspect
Glide Cleaning Limited That’s a good idea, especially in country areas where distance can be an issue. You could always offer to take the inspection cost off the price of the clearance job if they decide to go ahead.🍂😃👍🏼
Struggling to see how to make good money doing exterior cleaning. After you deduct running costs and corporation / income tax… the work is undervalued considering the value and benefit to the property owners who pay lots of cash for stupid stuff. I earn £500 +. / day working in a stupid, contract IT job. Sitting at a desk in my home. No travel. Almost zero expenses. It’s soul crushing at times and would love a change… but this business doesn’t look feasible unless scaled up or massive price hike. Am I missing something?
Prices I’ve quoted in my videos are a few years old now. Having a professional approach can also justify higher prices. But people also do it for the flexibility of being their own boss, being out in the fresh air, a lifestyle change. I started an online training course to help people to get the most out of their business, but yeah, it’s easily possible to average around £500 a day if you go about it the right way.👍🏼 www.aemackintosh-onlinetraining.com

The camera system could be used to inspect chimneys
James Downes Yeah, whatever you want, as long as you have a pole long enough.😃👍🏼
That's what she said.
Is it worth 50 quid for the wheels on the Unger hydro
Not if you get the single bag version. But the double that I have is a bit of a weight without the wheels. They are very robust, and I wheel it about all over the place!😃👍🏼
No no it cant. Chimneys do not just go straight up the wall they turn and have a 45’ angel bend so the straight pole camera wouldnt work
That was 3 year ago... Can you redo this video for today's prices, please?
I got charged £220 for gutter cleaned and moss out on a small semi bungalow 🙄
😬 Sounds a bit expensive I suppose, but I hope they did a good job.😉👍🏼
Count the clips, I may try that... I quote by the meter, it would save me getting the meter wheel out lol 😁👍
cns worx They are usually at a set distance apart, so it gives you a good gauge. Whatever works for you, as long as you have a method.🍂😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh Only thing is as you will know, clips can be a bit random. Iv seeing 3 and 4 clip in a meter lol.. anyway good vid 👍
cns worx Hi, a meter wheel that’s a brilliant idea! What would you charge to clean out gutters per meter? Also what would you charge to clean gutter and soffits per meter? Hope you don’t mind me asking just nice to hear what other guys are pricing. Cheers
@@MrAlexdavies89 £5 per meter, Cleaned out with skyvac, then the trough is washed with a water pole and Bush head..
Most UPVC gutters are fitted in 4meter lengths with a supporting bracket about every meter. Obviously this varies depending on the size of the property, and where the gutters are cut and joined, but it gives you an idea.🍂😃👍🏼
I would be £150 for that min price its only a once year job most o time plus got to consider couple grand for machine
I started an online training course to help people to get the most out of their business, but yeah, it’s easily possible to average around £500 a day if you go about it the right way.👍🏼

@@aemackintosh thank you. Wasn’t having a go! You come across as totally professional and a decent human being! Worth every penny you charge. All the best.
No worries! Thanks for your comments.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintoshhi mate really appreciate your efforts. I myself am taking the plunge as office life of soul destroying. What would you quote that job today as i know this vid is a few years old. Thanks!
£20 a side that’s all I charge and can do 3-6 jobs a day…. Average house is £80! People just throw there money at me
Sounds good.😃👍🏼
🤘🏻
😎👍
Wollef der Fensterputzer 🍂😃👍🏼
After you pay taxes, how much goes in your pocket?
Has anyone ever said you're too expensive? If not, you're not charging enough.
Jez Freedman I do live in a cheap area. If gutter cleaning was my main service, I would definitely charge more.😃👍🏼
£60 ahhh stop your nuts bud and for a 2 story house to
Yeah, I sometimes do gutter cleaning quite cheap if it gets me in with a new customer and they end up using me for other regular cleaning work.😃👍🏼
@@aemackintosh true ya i sapose if you get a good few jobs its a handy bit of money great vid 👍👍👍
Thanks.😃👍🏼
Quoting that way you will never ever make money! you are a business not a charity! Your time is money! full or empty you should be charging per meter!
Stephen Stone I think you have a point, if you are just doing gutter cleaning only. I’m trying to build a relationship of trust with my customers who I hope will use my wide range of services for years to come. 😃👍🏼
Totally agree AE
What's up with the low volume in the video and that loud stupid music at the end????????????????????????????
Sorry. I hope my editing has gradually improved.😃👍🏼
Might as well work for free which is basically what your doing
Jayden Ribchester My aim is to build a good relationship with the customer so that they will use a range of my services for years to come. If I was only doing gutter cleaning, I probably wouldn’t be quite so generous.😃👍🏼
Stuff that if you do a good job they’ll get you back be at least $300 in Australia for that
Yeah, it’s up to you. I hope you found something in the video helpful.😃👍🏼
Have humans lost the ability to climb ladders this is a simple case of reinventing the wheel get a ladder a trowel and bucket and the job would be done before you have printed off a quote what a waste of time
Seems a little cheap,
Kung Tita I live in a cheaper area of the country, and also my approach with this is really to build a relationship of trust with the customer so they will use my range of services for years to come.😃👍🏼
A.E.Mackintosh Cleaning Services ok fair enough, I’m looking at getting into gutter cleaning as I’m fed up with job I’m in, just don’t know how to get started and what to charge do looking at various information
If you are doing gutter cleaning only, you probably won’t want to be as generous with your pricing as this. I hope your plans go well.😃👍🏼
A.E.Mackintosh Cleaning Services thanks mate, I’ll let you know how I get on..... I’m thinking building up a business to average 2 to 3 clients per day, at an average price of £100 per house.
I would love £1,000 per week, I know window cleaners / gutter cleaners who take double this, but I want weekends off, I’ve practically worked 7 day weeks for 12 years and just want to relax a little for a while
@@ianmitchell9102 You will be pushed to do 3 £100 houses in a day. It certainly won't be relaxing
Stop showing the game youl ruin it for us...recession coming ...every carnt will be diong it.
You want to hope nobody in your area watchs your vids & wants to start up your going to have a lot of compation your littrily doing your self out of work mate enyone that's on to a good earner keeps it to himself all good Samaritans are poor
Competition is good, it makes us all lift our game. The customer gets a better service and the business owners ultimately charge more for a higher quality service. The result is that the whole industry has a better reputation.👍🏼
