    Hi Ash, thanks for the video on the tool attachments, We used our Skyvac Interceptor today on 2 houses with very narrow roof to gutter access and this was brilliant with your tips and guidance on how you use them. We did the two lowset house in under an hour, at 200 per house and it really is amazing with the right information how much your service to clients improves and gives a great job. Thanks again from us Down Under in Australia

    I have an Atom, absolutely love it. Perfect just to leave in my van on my window cleaning round as it's small and if I get asked to clear some while I'm there I can do it! Hard to believe I went so many years working off of a ladder to clear them! Well worth the investment 👌 Hope you're managing to still get some work done at the moment mate.

    I've had a atom for a few weeks now and used it for a few jobs.def a learning curve to it but I find the thinner suction attachment to work really well on most things.
    One job I had was some old aluminium ogee guttering with the clips running across the top every few foot or so and it made it hard work so I just done it by hand .but done a bungalow which was really narrow all around and it was spot on for that along with clearing out the lead valley too.
    Def takes getting used to but safer than getting up a ladder and holding a bucket etc.

    Hi All. I've found if you grind out, say, thumb tip crescent shapes around the end of the various fittings, you will allow an updraft to assist in the vacuuming. Kinda like scoffing down down a beer out of a bottle. Leave a little gap in the corner of your mouth, & you can scoff down the whole thing without stopping. Same principle.

      Atom is a little power house. I haven't had any issues with mine yet. I guess if you're solely gutter cleaning then spend more and get a larger machine, but the Atom is lightweight, small, good power so it's great to just leave in the van. I have used mine 7 poles high and it still clears them easily. I think spinaclean have a discount going on the packages too at the moment

      @@aemackintosh You can buy the kit 'carbon gooseneck + clamps' for Atom.... ; ideally a 50mm hose + 50mm inlet would reduce the risk of blockage ; for down pipes, a high pressure cleaner with 15 m pipe cleaning will help...

    I bought the elite, largely because of Ashley's recommendation. I have been extremely disappointed. I love this channel; it's one of my favorites. But I caution anyone against this product. I have been cleaning gutters for 15 years and using the SkyVac tripled and quadrupled my time at each house and did a very poor job (I know because I started getting up and checking what was happening. I can clean gutters much faster by hand, on ladder or roof. The system is not efficient and easy to use. I had to buy a 200 lb generator to run the vacuum and the total set up is extremely difficult to use. Buyer beware.

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  4 года назад

      Dave W Thanks for your comments. I can see where your coming from. There is definitely an element of technique to be effective with this tool, as with any tool. Also, I found that the more I use it, the more efficient I became at setting it up, moving it around, and packing it away, hence reducing my time at the job. You May find it helpful to use an inspection camera? I find that the vac comes across very professional and is a lot safer in most instances too.😃👍🏼

    • @smartcleaningservices7450
      @smartcleaningservices7450 4 года назад +2

      Dave W I have to agree with you. By ladder and hand is far easier but obviously not as safe. It’s a lot faster to get the ladders out on a straight forward gutter clean on a house. Others will argue the vac is faster but I have to disagree. By the time you set up, clean the vac and poles and pack away it’s just much quicker with ladders and less awkward but some people don’t like using ladders so each to their own. The vac always comes in handy above conservatory roofs and some extensions. The vacs can be a pain but its worth having a vac in your Arsenal as an exterior cleaner. I won a window cleaning contract on a school including add on services partly because my vac could reach 3 story gutters from the ground safely. The school wanted a company that could do the lot. Windows, gutters, jet washing etc and not just a window cleaner. They seen the vac on my website and were impressed and this was also one of the reasons why they called me and they wanted to cut cost by not having to bring in a cherry picker or scaffolding. I also clean 2 large industrial units on a 3 monthly which is a really good earner and I wouldn’t have got these without the vac. Both units are the same company and roughly 100 yards from each other so as soon as we finish the first one we move straight onto the next. I couldn’t clean these units without the vac as parts of the building are awkward and far too dangerous by ladder and there’s parts where you can’t set up scaffolding or a cherry picker to get at some of the gutters plus the vac saves the client money. The vacs have their place and as Ashley said they look professional but exterior cleaners need to have different tools/equipment depending on the job and the vacs are handy to have 👍🏻

      @adrianmcglynn9345 4 года назад +2

      @@smartcleaningservices7450 Yes like anything, all tools / equipment have pros and cons, I find cleaning gutters by hand does a better job but takes longer if you get more confident with gutter vac it does a pretty good job too. I also admit I get up on ladder for inspection just to double check as cameras are quite expensive add on. Larger houses with lots of gutters full of dead leaves and stagnant water there is no better job than a gutter vac as it will suck it all out so easily, try this by hand it would take far longer. Obliviously price comes into it as they are not cheap but a great investment all the same, I would definitely recommend investing in one, doesn't have to be sky vac as these are very expensive but do come with more features. I use the Nilfisk maxi 2.

    • @smartcleaningservices7450
      @smartcleaningservices7450 4 года назад +2

      Adrian Mcglynn yes I agree with the vac sucking out all the water 100%. You just have to take each job as it comes and work out the best and most efficient way to tackle it 👍🏻

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  4 года назад +1

      Robert Goosen It’s very rare that I can’t sort it with the vac. The most awkward is when there is a conservatory roof that comes down to meet a tiled roof and there is a gully/gutter where they meet. But they have a new 90degree angle goose neck now to make that easier.😃👍🏼

      I cleaned gutters last week on a semi detached house with the sky vac industrial and both down pipes were completely full and rock solid. Not a chance the vac was clearing them even with different attachments or accessories. Sometimes we come across jobs like this. I had to get the ladders off the van and disconnect the down pipes to clear them out. The gutter vacs are a great bit of kit but you can’t rely on the vac to clear all gutter jobs 100%. Sometimes you need to use ladders to finish some jobs properly or we sometimes use a pressure washer with a telescopic lance and an attachment that fits into the down pipe which works well to unblock them. You don’t need the pressure washer on full power. If you come across slipped tiles in the gutter, this can be a problem for a vac and ladders might be needed to remove them. Like I said vacs are good but not suited to complete every gutter job.

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  4 года назад +1

      There are always going to be certain instances that require a ladder, but on the whole, I find the vac is much safer and easier.😃👍🏼

      @@smartcleaningservices7450 hi, what lance and attachment do you use? I've got a blocked downpipe that my gutter vac can't clear and I can't get a ladder up there due to the dangerous floor below so adding an attachment to my pressure washer would be ideal
