    Hey Joe, I have 2 Skyvacs and it helps move things along if you keep a 5 gallon pail of warm water next to you to suck through the vacuum to keep it clean. Also Garret at Skyvac is the man! He can help you get the camera setup so you can monitor while you work. It is a learning curve for sure if you are used to doing this a different way. Once you get the rhythm it is excellent.

    I thought the answer, just to have a cleaner situation and faster is not keep going up and down the ladder. Go up once to inspect (or with camera)
    Then just vacuum whatever you can up, and then pressure wash the rest out the drains.
    Playing with it with your hands cant possibly be quicker if you have to keep moving the ladder, and pressure washing alone makes a big mess and if its a lot of mud, can be difficult.
    So to me, you are overthinking it. Vacuum, wash, and done.

    • @powerfulimprovements
      @powerfulimprovements  Год назад

      Why vacuum and pressure wash? One or the other. Today was simply gaining some experience with the vac

    • @waltermh111
      @waltermh111 Год назад

      @@powerfulimprovements I dont know. people always asking what do you do with the mess. Seems like the vacuum eliminates that, but I havent done gutters yet so i dont know the best results.
      If you say its only one or the other, I would go pressure washer. Too many restrictions on the perfect operation of the vacuum and the pressure washer is an all in one solution with the best end result on the gutter itself.
      A vacuum just cant compete as far as I can see.

    Additionally to your existing vac I'd recommend something with more umph around 3600 watts we have 4 maxhines like this and power speeds up the job but from that what I've seen in videos from US you have lighter material then us in Eire so maybe it's not necessary. We ofter come against bushes growing in gutters therefore power counts

      @@powerfulimprovements Smallachines as you have shown are excelent in terms of manouverability, you can drag them up the ladder etc... thank you for it. Thank you for showing people many features of different type of equipment. Many creators push for the baddest biggest machines of all sorts and you are really showing as it is. For electrics I recommend cord reel with a guide we have alot of them without the guide and they are driving me nutts. On another note there are petrol propelled models of gutter vacuums and you can also use existing motor or generator to free yourself from cords. I can send you few links if youtube allows with machines. For rinsing gutters you can use a tip with 2 nozzles which you can place inside the gutter and use an extension lance standing on the ground. I can send some photos of these devices

    If you are ever looking for a subject to discuss for your viewers, can you explain what using too small of a tip or injector does to a pump? I don't know the answer and I feel like you do. I know Mike Carmody said not to use the 1.8 injector on the 10 gpm . This stems from just having to replace my (1100 hours)8 gpm pump after experimenting with 1.5 and 1.8 injectors for acid applications. Also I used another tip which was too small ( for an 8 gmp) for about 10 hours on a job and my pump was never the same. Still did houses fine but psi loss for surface cleaning made me change it. Thank you in advance.

    • @powerfulimprovements
      @powerfulimprovements  Год назад

      That would be a great topic. I feel like with 1100 hours you have more experience than me. I’d say, for me, that if I can feel/hear the machine being stressed switch up. On my 8 it hates the 1.5. The 1.8 is ok, somewhat restrictive, so slight labor, it loves the 2.1. Hardly any restriction. I guess in summary I would say if the machine is begging don’t use that tip or injector

      @@powerfulimprovements I agree now that I made the mistake I can recognize your points of the machine telling me what it doesn't like. Also I love no soap for house washes, thanks to you!

    I have a great idea since you're gonna go out and buy yourself a real the plug it in why don't you use your little portable gas generator leave it on the truck leave the hose real by the truck or find a way to mount it somewhere on the truck and reel it up from the truck and just pull the cord around the house just like you would pressure washing

      Hey Rick. Why disconnect?

    • @rickwashek478

      @@powerfulimprovements eliminate messing with vac. Usually you flush out anyway so if you disconnect downspout flush out sediment and it will fall to ground. The downspouts usually just have 2 screws or 1/8" rivets. If they have rivets drill out with 1/8" drill bits when done just put 2 crews back in with cordless drill.
