I did everything it said, yet kept getting the message "could not migrate to usb drive" I don't understand why this is happening when its a brand new usb thats been formated to chromcaast. When i individualy tried to move the appa it said not enough storage when its completely empty ans the usb is a lot bigger then storage requiered. Is their anything else i can do?

I formatted it and everything, the Chromecast was recognizing it, but it simply kept disconnecting and reconnecting about every other minute. I returned the USB-C hub thinking it's not compatible, but now I'm thinking it could've been because of the powerbrick, I used just some powerbrick I had laying around from the old phone. What do you think?
Yeah because it needs to power more devices it has to be more powerful. Look at the original Google TV power brick and make sure to get a new power brick that can output more watts than the included one so that the hub, stick and anything new you want to add also have enough power. The original power brick only has enough power only for the google tv
Can I connect SD with this hub WITHOUT buying the 65w adaptor and instead using the one included with the Chromecast to power the hub and the SD card or will be not sufficient to do so?
I don't think you're correct in your statement. The only thing you expand by adding USB thumbdrive or SDCard or USB HDD/SSD formatted as device storage is the space you have to install apps. I haven't found a way to just add usb drive with my movies/roms etc and them being usable by the Chromecast
So I got all the parts and everything is up and running. I formatted the new SanDisk thumb drive. I tried to migrate the data from the internal memory to the SanDisk it would not do that. Number one do I have to move everything over or is there a way to add new apps to thumb drive? When I go to install an app it just keeps telling me that there's not enough memory so it's obvious it's not trying to go to the new thumb drive. If someone could help that would be fantastic thank you
2 questions: 1) can you use a power brick pushing 25 watts(I’ve seen others do it, compatible cable of course) ? 2) your dongle has a micro usb slot, can you just insert a micro usb card into the slot and expand storage ?

Format it on the computer for Windows, then plug it in and it'll ask you to reformat

You should buy the hub with otg 45 for wire internet as well, ofcuors if you have wifi issues

You can try, but in my experience the power adapter included with the chromecast is sufficient to power the hub
