So I have been casting Netflix from my iPad to my gen1 early version of chromecast so I feel a level of familiarity with the standard google set up. So I think I’ll buy this new gizmo. Thks also for mentioning the Bluetooth speaker compatibility. This will allow me to watch and listen to stuff without irritating the wife when she is reading. Cheers again.

If you have an iPhone you should be able to both cast (aka airplay) as well as mirror your phone on your Apple TV without the need for a Chromecast... probably no need for a Chromecast in this case
way better than amazon fire stick. i took my fire stick back as it doesn't have kids profiles, in australia with no date set for doing so. I have set up a kids profile on google chrome cast and its working, im a very happy mum.

It looks like your sound bar already has Atmos and Chromecast integrated? So unless there’s no Atmos offered from the source then seems like it should be working 🤔

You may be able to not choose to link the volume controls to the monitor during setup but I haven’t tested. Any particular reason to have it separated?
I'm unsure what you mean by using this and Apple TV - you can use them separately? I don't believe you can install a VPN directly on the Chromecast but you can install a VPN on a compatible router to then connect to the internet 👍
I got one of those and it won't work now, when I try to connect it to my tablet, it just buffers round and round, I hear Google is stopping making them, will generation 3 still work

If you dont have a TV antenna, to get Free to Air Channels, can you downlaod the TV channel stations using the apps and just stream TV live like you would if you had a TV antenna plugged in the TV?

Can I cast using this while it's hooked up to a computer monitor from my Samsung S23 phone? Not a TV! Using "Mirror Phone" from my cell phone. I do Lives on TikTok and need to Cast to a monitor for visibility. Thanks
Are you saying to cast to a computer monitor, or to both a computer monitor and a TV at the same time? First question, yes, but if it's the second, that would be a very good question - I don't have a Samsung phone so I can't say for certain, but usually you wouldn't be able to "cast" to two devices at once. If your phone is connected to your monitor via cable, maybe it's possible 🤔 is it an option to just monitor on your computer screen without the TV or not have it connected to your computer screen and just cast to the TV?
@Sam10X I have to have a bigger screen in front of me while I play drums. This is why the laptop alone doesn't work for that. But yes the 1st question was right. No guarantees if changing will fix that! You might want to try searching for the issue first to try and find some potential solutions to try (I think there could be issues if macOS is too old etc) - if everything else is good and it looks like a potential issue with your chromecast, then you might have better luck by switching 👌
Hey Sam, I feel like I could be your parents! Actually we have a smart tv we purchased in 2018 and its 2017 LG olexld model. Now '9 now' not operble just before Olympics. Cant get kayo. I am wondering if you could help me set up.mine and of course pay. No probs. I also have a wallmounted tv and i cant fit my hand behind. Thats the biggest problem i have. Hey Susie, I think your TV is definitely smarter than my parents'! I'm glad you enjoyed my video but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to physically help you - I suggest a service like airtasker or similar to find someone that could assist. I absolutely understand the feeling of just wanting something to work!! To your questions - you can definitely switch back to free to air as you need and only need to get 4K if your TV is 4K (just need to search the model to confirm). Hope you find a way to get it all working 🙏

Hey Susie, I don’t have the HD version but my parents haven’t had an issues with the 4K so maybe that’s a good sign. It looks like you can download the Kayo app directly on Google TV and login without needing it on your phone. As for the installation you can probably just describe it as you are now, good luck! 🤞
Probably not an easy answer, it will depend on your internet connection, quality/resolution of the video you’re streaming, and where their servers are. If it’s an issue on your computer, probably also going to be an issue on the chromecast.
Hello Sam...just bought this 4k Chromecast and plugs it into a Samsung 4k tv, automatic resolution to 4k 60hz. Strangely, Netflix is only HD, try factory resetting and still Netflix HD. With the same Netflix account, playing on TCL A30 4k is smooth, on the Samsung default Netflix is also 4k. What's wrong with the chromecast?
I have the ax6 model number cax30 nighthawk and have google devices. My chromcast with remote keeps disconecting. I called Google and netgear and they both told me the have some compatible issues with netgear I logged in into guess network to see if that would help but it does not. So iam thiking about replacing chromcast ultra with apple tv or just replace the nighthawk. Having g issues conecting nest doorbell too:(

Sounds like you’re referring to something similar to FIFA that could be streamed via Stadia which has completely shut down. I’m not aware that this is possible on Chromecast.
When I say cast I meant playing videos (which there should be a button on your phone screen), but sounds like you want to mirror your screen, if that’s the case you need to find a specific app that can do that, I believe there are a few out there that can mirror your screen

I wanted to get a 4k Smart TV soon. Since I don't like the operating system that much, I wanted to buy a Google Chromecast because I think the design and the presentation of it are pretty nice and good. Now the question remains whether it is worth buying such a device for $70 or rather stick with the normal OS of the TV.
Asking the tough questions, if you’ve decided to get a TV already, why don’t you just get it first and test it out before making a decision on the chromecast? 👍
I got a Samsung TV that's really cheap BUT it's using SmartTV (Tizen OS) and it's not a good OS. It's also pretty slow. It's a shame because it supports 4K. So I bought a Google Chromecast dongle and it changed everything. The little hiccups I experienced were gone and the TV felt like brand new. The price is worht it vs. getting a new TV
I have mi box 4k and chromecast ultra 4k too, I would recommend chromecast ultra 4k because it has support for x265 videos and it is smooth in mi box also it works but sometimes experience is not smooth also, browsing on chromecast 4k is far better and efficient then on mi box 4k and last but not the list android version on chromecast is 12 while on mi box it is less then that and google tv skin is new experience

There should be a speed button that allows you to do that
USB audio was available in older version of firmware. Now they have disabled it. Sadly it cant be used as music streamer now.

I believe these can all be sideloaded via certain apps so doesn’t have to be from the play store

There’s probably no issues, but is you’re concerned you can always unplug when you’re not using it!

Not good, it will freeze for couple minutes, then works a while, then freeze again....

Might be an issue with the HDMI port you have? Could try other ports and double check the port you’re using fully supports 4K etc

There are ways to put it on or you can cast from another device…too bad it doesn’t just come with Chrome browser out of the box
Why not use your voice to type instead? Is that an option? Should be if the Google Assistant is.
You can absolutely use your voice, as long as any accents don’t get in the way 👌

Sounds like you’re referring to something similar to FIFA that could be streamed via Stadia which has completely shut down. I’m not aware that this is possible on Chromecast.

Not natively (there are workarounds), but you can cast on screen through your apple devices, so should be sufficient depending on your use case 👍

When I say cast I meant playing videos (which there should be a button on your phone screen), but sounds like you want to mirror your screen, if that’s the case you need to find a specific app that can do that, I believe there are a few out there that can mirror your screen

I wanted to get a 4k Smart TV soon. Since I don't like the operating system that much, I wanted to buy a Google Chromecast because I think the design and the presentation of it are pretty nice and good. Now the question remains whether it is worth buying such a device for $70 or rather stick with the normal OS of the TV.
Asking the tough questions, if you’ve decided to get a TV already, why don’t you just get it first and test it out before making a decision on the chromecast? 👍
I got a Samsung TV that's really cheap BUT it's using SmartTV (Tizen OS) and it's not a good OS. It's also pretty slow. It's a shame because it supports 4K. So I bought a Google Chromecast dongle and it changed everything. The little hiccups I experienced were gone and the TV felt like brand new. The price is worht it vs. getting a new TV

I have mi box 4k and chromecast ultra 4k too, I would recommend chromecast ultra 4k because it has support for x265 videos and it is smooth in mi box also it works but sometimes experience is not smooth also, browsing on chromecast 4k is far better and efficient then on mi box 4k and last but not the list android version on chromecast is 12 while on mi box it is less then that and google tv skin is new experience
