I love the GM suspension for fast weekend trucks and comfort... My friends duramax is slower then my powerstroke (not saying powerstrokes are faster, in this case mine is faster then his) but his feels way faster when driving or riding in it. I prefer my superduty for daily heavy construction abuse. I dont care who makes it... If its fun cool haha. At the end they all eventually break.
These rules are so dumb, why not let them change tires and make small changes so we can actually see what the trucks are capable of at full potential. I don’t get why they only get one shot at everything, that’s not how you find out who has the best truck, it just shows who gets lucky on there first try. At least give them a shake down run to adapt to the conditions.

The idea here is to let more small time guys get into the competition. At the UCC, if you don't have 1,500 hp, you really have no chance at being in the top 10, never mind winning.

I’m not disappointed that these guys don’t have 2000+ ft lbs or anything, I’m disappointed because the drivers themselves have a good level of sportsmanship but the organizers at motor trend don’t allow them to genuinely compete, throwing the book at inexperienced drivers with rule technicalities and not working with them. The spirit or lack there of on motor trends part is what bothers me so much.
The one at 5:15 is unfair his truck already has to pull him and now you add the sleep....poor truck.....lol jk everyone did a great job and brought some badass trucks.

This is something I look forward to every year, and while I enjoyed this year it feels like it was phoned in and lacked the excitement and heart of years prior. There seamed to be little knowledge of the events and trucks by the commentators and at many points it was cringeworthy.

Yep worst one by far, everything this year sucked. Really boring, especially the redesigned trailer obstacle course and it seemed like the did way too much video cutting. Feels like you only saw certain parts of each event.
Anybody else notice that the 6.4 ford actually has a real headlight retrofit instead of tinted reflectors with cheap LEDs like half of the trucks that compete in this competition every year? Nice to see

I remember a couple years ago when they had some Chevy's laying down numbers with the Cummins Boyz, but always broke. I also want them to start doing it down in altitude more. Give the non nitrous guys an equal chance. Because in order to hang now it almost seems like a given that you need NO2

Strong man you want me to tell you about commercial diesel regulations? You do realize that not every American diesel is like ones shown? That the boys in video have easily 75k of parts and labor in them trucks? Its a competition.
The dyno should simply be used as a tool to satisfy curiosity. These guys all bring pavement princesses and brag about the artificial numbers the Dyno gives them, brag about how fast their trucks are on the quarter mile, but balk and lie about their experience with sled pulling. These vehicles are useless if they can't do what TRUCKS were MEANT to do: WORK. Good dyno numbers? Cool bragging rights. Good quarter mile time? I'll show you a massive list of the vehicles that did better with less power. Good Sled Pull? That's what I'm talking about.
I guess since a 6.0 dominated the past two years so they had to find the worse driver ever that owns a 6.0 and brought him to the challenge man! Wtf and u can see they loaded up on Duramaxs this year pushing for one of those to win since they always break on here!!

While that was a lot of fun to watch I really don't understand how they dished out those points. Not putting anyone in particular down, but those numbers make me wonder if we were watching the same event they were.
That proves nothing except immaturity. Once your balls drop and you become old enough to drive and modify your own truck with your own money tell me how much fun it is burning through $600-$1000 in seconds.
Travis with the cummins did so bad. No not saying I could or couldnt do better. Just saying he should not have been there. Did the worst in almost everything.
Garret’s truck would have handily won the 2018 dpc if it hadn’t been for that transmission. DPC had to give it to one of the chevys they had to stack them deep this year it’s been forever since a pos duramax won anything.
I'm a Duramax/Allison guy but I can't hate on that black 6.4 or the mega cab at all. I don't care what place they came in. Those are nice trucks

The properly tuned trucks dont smoke a lot when they are running on the turbo. When they are off the turbo they smoke. Same as any factory diesel.
