Patty. This is so simple and as you’ve said pretty. I have so many fabrics in my stash and have vowed not to purchase this year but the MSQC charm packs and layer cakes are very tempting. Thank you for the inspiration
I just LOVE it!! You can always pull 30 different items from your stash and take a 10" square cut from each! I certainly appreciate when you purchase using my links, but please don't feel pressured.
Hi Patty I made an order with MSQC today using your link. I did get the 20% discount off everything I ordered. I also got the porch swing stacker. Love the colors and how you used them on your recent quilt. I have another pattern in mind to make with it. So happy that I got a good deal on my order today. Love your videos and your spunky personality 🐥! Bye for now, Cynthia
Wonderful! Thank you so much and I hope you enjoy your purchase! I’ve never been disappointed with anything they’ve sent me. That line is absolutely beautiful.
Love the quilt idea. Definitely will make it. But I do have a comment about the music in the background. You don’t really need it. It’s great just to hear your voice. And if you’re fast forwarding these things that’s fine too. We just like to watch the video.
I love the quilt so much! I hope to finish it completely one day. I appreciate your feedback on the music but the videos drag terribly with it. I'm not super dynamic or high energy so the music does lift the video presentation overall. It's very flat and dull without the music bed. I don't think you would enjoy it nearly as much without the addition of the music. I'm always shocked by how much energy a little music brings to the video.
I tried using your discount but it required me to spend at least $59. I had over $50, but under $59, so no discount. Bummer. I hate looking for another item just to get a discount. A great pattern to really show off the beautiful fabric!
I know you get free shipping at $59 but the 20% should come off at $50. I don’t really know why it would not work for you. Sorry for the inconvenience though. 😢
I never prewash!! Even on projects I'm making for myself or someone close to me. I did learn that the canvas I got in a fat quarter bundle shrank BIG TIME. I used one cut as a prop in a cake photo and I washed and dried it afterwards. It was almost an inch all around smaller. I thought that was pretty crazy. I haven't experimented much with canvas, but I would definitely pre wash that unless I planned only on a spot clean or a dry clean after use.
@@PattymacMakes thank you so much! I thought I was the only one. I googled it a couple times but everyone always told me to make sure to wash but I love the crispness of it fresh and I’ve never had any problems. Thank you for taking the time to respond you’re the best ❤️
Oh my gosh. I just looked that line up and it's ADORABLE!! I think it would be great in this, and the cute pony prints would totally show up with the large strips of the blocks. I would keep a white or an off white back ground fabric so the prints have a chance to really shine. If you make one, I'd love to see it!
@PattymacMakes it's such a beautiful line! I'm going to give this one a go; I like the pieces are large to show off the patterns, yet you still have total control of which direction the prints land...my mind cannot have upside down and or sideways prints that have a true direction 🤦🏼♀️
@@bbymks5 I just love this design, and I do think it would show off anything chosen. Have you seen Ponderosa? I think it's just adorable. I love anything about horses and cowboys! We watch a lot of westerns around here.
@PattymacMakes I made my neighbor a Hemingway Pouch using a couple FQ of Ponderosa! That line totally gives me the 60's/70's cowboy feels! Reminds me of my dad, who was an actual cowboy in the 60's! You might also like John Wayne Courage also by RBD for a more manly quilt. The plaids in that one are perfect!!
@@bbymks5 Oh gosh!! I bet that was darling!! How'd you like that pouch pattern? I know everyone is wild about it. I have a gorgeous John Wayne panel print collection. I have no idea what I'm ever going to do with it, but it's in the collection tucked away. It's the one that looks like movie posters. I'm such a fan of classic movies. The Ponderosa ponies would probably complement them well, but I'm reaching the point where I have more than I ever sew through now. So I'm not trying to add too much to my stash at this point.
I have this pattern and plan to make it. One question. Did you square up each block. After adding the strips it won’t measure 10x 10 any longer. Where do you cut that off I’m assuming the larger side….?…
I did a minor amount of squaring up, but that's more from the stretchy nature of a precut and sewing less than perfect seam allowances. It's not much to trim, because it's still very close to 10" when done. A lot of the strips get eaten up in seam allowances so if all things are perfect, there is no trimming. When you make a couple you'll see how they go together. Try a couple with scrap or ugly fabric first, and you'll see how it goes together.
I am making that pattern now. Frustrating 😜 I will have to trim all my blocks to the same size. When adding the 2 strips to fabric it distorts the size . Wish she and Misty Doan would have said at end about squaring up when block finished.
At around the 6:16 mark you show a large print dark fabric and folded down is a pink. Those are amazing together. I know it was the back of the pink. Do the have names or SKU that you could give me? I would like to see if Missouri State will be getting any more. I went straight to their website when I saw that. They may have the pink, but I did not see that large print. It is so beautiful together. Thank you I appreciate any help. You can give me.
They only have what's there for now. You can call them and request more yardage. It may or may not be available. You can search Porch Swing Fabric on etsy and find some other prints, but it's significantly more money. Still you can find it there if Missouri Star doesn't restock it. It is beautiful stuff!! I loved working with it.
It is beautiful! Thank you for the tip with putting cut sided together. I learned something new. ❤❤
You are so welcome!

The quilt top is cheerful and just stunning.
Thank you!! I love it so much!!
Love it! I took "Porch Swing" to my retreat this past week and made a snowball type pattern. Such beautiful fabric!!!❤❤❤❤
That's another good idea! Do you remember the pattern name? I'm definitely looking for simple, but beautiful layer cake quilt ideas!
Your quilt is beautiful. You are such a delight to watch. Thank you.

Love the beautiful layer cake and made into a quilt. Looks like my bedroom decor.

This fabric is beautiful even if it doesn’t quite “go” with my house. Most quilts don’t! LOL!
I really do like this collection and I wish there was more yardage of it available.

Love this pattern! Do you think the fabric line Wild Rose by RBD would work or is it not a modern enough line?

Beautiful. What’s the size of the white strips you showed sewing them on? 1 inch? I didn’t hear the size. Thank you.
It’s a paid pattern so I didn’t give any specific measurements. It’s a beautiful pattern and I highly recommend it!
It does look like an inch
