2 Peter 3:16 says that the unlearned and the unstable WREST (distort the meaning or interpretation of something to suit one's own interests or views) as they do also other scriptures unto their own destructions. Hebrews 3 & 4 say that we will not enter God's rest if we Harden our heart against His word. Satan is a lier and a deceiver and his job is to deceive God's people. His days are coming to an end hence he is like a roaring lion seeking to devour God's people. Let us pray for each other as we travel this journey to the promise land. God bless.

In other words, if God's law, the transcript of His character, is glorious when it is written upon stone, how much more glorious it will be when it is lived out in the life of regenerate Christians in the glorious New Covenant?

The letter kills if you are a sinner. If you are justified and sanctified by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, you have a new heart given to you, with the Ten Commandments written upon your heart. This is the New Covenant.
In both cases, the content is the same, the Ten Commandments.
The difference between whether it is a ministration of death, or ministration of life, is whether or not you have faith in Christ and the Ten Commandments written upon your heart by the Spirit.

My understanding of these passages somewhat follows this example: give one group of people the 10 commandments written down and have them to just read them everyday, day and night, several times a day....another group have them to read the 10 commandments acknowledging the fact that God wrote them, all the while having them to continue during this time to pray and ask God to allow His Spirit to write them in their heart. Which group would you say is more likely able to be successful at keeping them and bringing glory and honor to God. John 14:15. BLESSINGS!

From what I understand, the 2 covenants are experiential. This is what Jones and Waggoner taught as part of the 1888 message. The faithless and legalistic response to the Everlasting Covenant is the experience of the Old Covenant. A response of faith is the New Covenant. 2 Corinthians 3 is contrasting the responses of two groups of people: those at Sinai (“all that the Lord has said WE will do”-Old Covenant) and those at Corinth, who had the law of God written on their hearts through the Spirit because of their faith!
I highly recommend Skip MacCarty’s book “In Granite or Ingrained” for a detailed look at this topic. Paul Penny Jr. covers the issue of the covenants as it relates to the 1888 message in Adventism in his thesis “Calvary at Sinai: the Law and the Covenants in Seventh-Day Adventist History.”
    Blessings!

I had never seen this picture before listening to this video.
Moses goes up into the mountain after destroying the first tablets and advocates for the people of Israel and for God to postpone their destruction.
Moses asks for God to traverse with the children of Israel through the wilderness of sin. Moses also asks to see God's glory. God then proclaims his name and glory in Exodus 34:6,7 as being abundantly merciful, yet also just.
After coming down from the mountain, Moses' face is shining because he is reflecting the glory and name of God. He's shining so much that he has to wear a veil over his face to hide it from the children of Israel.
When Christ dies, the veil in the temple is ripped from top to bottom. Where the law, the resurrected staff, the pot of manna, the ark of the testament, and the glorious presence of God should have been was missing because it was now manifest on the mount of the skull. Christ the mercy seat and the glory; e.g. mercy and longersuffering covering the payment of God's justice, was on a hill lifted up for all of mankind to be made visible. He walked through the wilderness of sin with us when he took humanity upon himself.
    To God be the glory

The 10 Commandments were written on stone. When it was only on stone and not in the heart, the people failed.
But under the New Ministration, the Holy Spirit writes God's 10 Commandments, that were on stone, in the heart.
The purpose of this is so that people don't sin.
David said "thy law have I hid in my heart that I may not sin against thee".
The Holy Spirit is doing the work of the New Ministration. He is writing God's Law in the heart.
      Ezekiel 36:
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
      2 Corinthians 3:3

Now of the things which we have spoken this is *the sum* We have such an high priest, (of the order of Melchizedek; chapter 7) who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty *in the heavens*
A minister of *the sanctuary* and of the true tabernacle, *which the Lord pitched and not man*
For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
    (His life; "no greater love"...)
For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests [Levitical] that offer gifts according to the law:
Who serve unto the example and *shadow* of *heavenly things* as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make *the tabernacle* for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to *the pattern* shewed to thee in the mount.
*But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry* by how much also *he* is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
*For if that first covenant had been faultless then should no place have been sought for the second*
For *finding fault with them* he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make *a new covenant* with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; *I will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts* and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
    {Hebrews 8:1-10} (Jer 31:31-33)

Yes, you are right. However. The heavenly covenant and the earthly operated differently. If you don't have a good understanding of the Scriptures you will be misled. For example, God established the earthly covenant as an account of people's sin. (The Law was not made for the righteous but for sinners). The heavenly covenant is for the righteous (Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins). Because our sins are forgiven, we are declared righteous. Therefore, the righteous serve under the heavenly ministry: Love your neighbor as your self and Jesus being our High Priest, while sinners serve under the earthly ministry: Thou shall not kill; thou shall not steal etc. Which one do you serve under?

The ceremonial portions that dealt with animal sacrifices, physical circumcision, and forgiveness of sin were blotted out and dealt with by Jesus (Colossians 2:16; Ephesians 2:15; Hebrews 9:9-10). The Bible doesn't mention that the 10 Commandments were blotted out.

    • @Vladi.G

The 10 commandments encompass all other laws. His commandments are exceedingly broad (Psalm 119:96).
If you eat food that is unclean, you are harming your body (i.e. modern science shows that eating pork is terrible for our health) and thus you are breaking the 6th commandment by slowly killing yourself.
If you don’t give of your money for God’s work by tithing, you love money more than you love God and the 1st commandment says to have no other gods besides the Lord our God. You can’t serve both God and money (Matthew 6:24)
If you commit incest, you are breaking the 10th commandment as Leviticus 18:6-18 explains that these are not meant for you to uncover their nakedness. So by committing incest you would be coveting something that is not yours to have.
I say none of these things in judgement. God judges each according to the light we have received, but these are the principles behind God’s law. His laws are not arbitrary, but rather they are purposeful and full of wisdom.

Have you ever really studied this Greek word "dogma", to check to see if it was EVER since the 2 - 3 century BC used for any of God's laws of commandments? Or are you just repeating something you heard?
Let me share the following with you, which shows your "1" supposed source of evidence that there are "ceremonial laws" (of which neither the Hebrew nor Greek nor Aramaic original text will confirm your position) is patently conjured up by your teachers.
The LXX Septuagint text is online and you can check if you choose but note the following:
The word ordinances (or decrees) in Col. 2:14 is translated from the Greek word dogmasin, a form of the Greek word dogma (Strongs # G1378). ( [1380 (dokéō) is the root of: 1378 (dógma),
God's laws, ordinances, instructions, and commandments are mentioned many, many times in the the Greek Old Testament (the Septuagint) that was used by Greek-speaking people of Paul's day. But how many times does the Septuagint use the word dogma (or any of its forms) when referring to God's laws or instructions? Never. Every occurrence of dogma in the Old Testament refers to man-made decrees or rulings. Usually it's the decrees of pagan rulers.
      ------
So to prove your point that there are ceremonial laws, shouldn't one of the original languages in which the OT was written support your claim? Vs having to use a Strong's dictionary, which does not state that any of Gods laws are "ceremonial", (but the definition includes man made laws) a title you will NEVER in the entire OT nor NT.
If God, or any of the Prophets or Jesus or His apostles wanted up to call any of His laws don't you think we would have a text that clearly states this fact? But NO you have no such evidence. As mentioned, your position, your categorization, of a so called Moral Law, vs Ceremonial Law, comes from the Roman Catholic Church.

Laws increase the knowledge of sin and have no power to stop sin.

      @rupierichards1809 4 месяца назад

@@thatnicekid04 I don't think you get it. The Ten Commandments embody the whole operations of the Old Testament system. Everything the priests and the Jewish people did was based on the Ten Commandments that determined their righteousness or unrighteousness. Therefore the ministrations of the Old and New Testaments speak to the governing authorities of both ministries under which the people function in God's presence. Think about it: If sin is the transgression of the Law, this speaks not only to our sinful nature but to anything that contravenes God's Commandments. Therefore, the Ten Commandments are broader than what we think.
The New Covenant that is placed into our hearts and minds speaks to a different ministration than the ministry of the Ten Commandments that God wrote on stones. SDA seems to be equating both of them in the same manner. The Old and New Testaments' administrations are different. If we don't fully understand the difference, we will likely teach or preach a different gospel.

What makes it the ministration of death is a life of practicing sin. When we reject the free gift of salvation and refuse to walk in the righteousness of Christ, we place ourselves under the ministration of death. But God's Son has met the demands of the law by his life on earth by overcoming the world. The ministration that is available today is the ministration of life, which happens to be also the same law that brings death. It brings life to those who accept the merits of Christ for their sin and who choose to walk according to God's will.
Paul says in Roman's 7:10- "And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death."
Why did he find it to be unto death? Because he saw God's law in a new light, he never knew before. Because in verse 14 of Romans 7 "For we know that the law is spiritual." Paul only looked at the external part of God's law but did not understand at the time that the law is spiritual. He was righteous in his own eyes until the law of God pointed to his heart sins and that was what broke him and made him realize he was void of the righteousness of Christ, which God's law reflects. The law of God is not the problem because Paul says, "The law is holy, and the commandment holy, just and good." We will be judged by God's law in the judgment, which is the standard.

As if Jesus resisted all three types of temptation for His health, or said with us it’s impossible, but WITH God it’s possible, for His health.
As if He was confused, didn’t get the memo, or didn’t really mean it when He told the woman to go and sin no more, or lied to or mislead the lawyer and the rich, young ruler about the key to eternal life, or at least left them wondering, or when He said in Matthew 5:18, “until Heaven and Earth pass away.”
As if a rare sin would endanger God’s pure and holy home. As if it isn’t a habit / cherished sin / a divided heart that would endanger Heaven.
Thus as if it isn’t one’s trend of life that determines one’s fitness for Heaven, not an occasional sin.
Besides, as if a godly Christian would fail to confess and repent of the rare or occasional sin. Dream on.
