The idea that Christ died to lower the standards of God's law is the preaching of all evangelicals, Pentecostals and others, yet they forget that what landed Christ on the cross was Man's disobedience to God's law in the first place, Sabbath is as old as the creation of the world itself in Genesis 2:1-3

@StPeter-zh1rk The gentiles were not commanded to what? You sure about that? So you haven't read Isaiah 56. Let me show you:
Isa 56:1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
      Isa 56:3 Neither let the son of the >>>> stranger >>> Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;

@StPeter-zh1rk Oh try again? SURE! I knew you'd say that, here is the reverse trap:
      (I loved your reaction ngl)
The new covenant, surprise surprise (Romans 11:24) is exactly like Isaiah 56. There is no trap, just confusion from your mind. Notice that you join Israel and become the "Spiritual" Israel, in fact right in Romans Chapter 2:28-29 explains that those who have accepted the Gospel became Jew! You've set up a trap for yourself when trying to think dis was trap. The Promise the Lord made was with Abraham, by promise, I mean, a Covenant.
      Check this out:
"Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. "
When you go to the context (Context is King) you'll understand to whom Paul is speaking. It's a declaration: That same Covenant with Israel is also with the Gentiles. But once again, it's nothing new. See how those verses converse with each other? Oh. Also, I will allow myself to fall on another "trap".
      Same book, same prophet:
Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
Soooooo... the verse here is very, very, VERY clear in stating "new Heaven and new Earth". How are you going to circumvent this prophecy? Are we still on this new "heaven and earth?" When does it come?
      Let the bible speak:
Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
None of those prophecies have been fulfilled, yet the prophet is clear in declaring that the Sabbath ALL the Universe will Gather to Worship God. Not only the Sabbath but the new Moon (Tree of Life, but that is a subject for another day.)
It was a very nice try, but not today bro.

God gave the Sabbath to national Israel as a sign of their Old Covenant relationship, "It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever" (Ex.
31:13, 17). At the same time God commanded Israel not to share their covenant and
      Sabbath with other nations (Ex.
23:32; Deut. 7:1-6). This is why Jesus did not command the non
Israelites whom he healed to observe the Sabbath and the rest of the Law. This is also why the Jewish Christians at the first church council did not require Gentile Christians to observe the Law (Acts 15:1-20; 21:18-28).
      Therefore, the seventh day weekly Sabbath was not given to all mankind (Ex. 19:5, 6; 20:2;
      31:13 - 18; Deut.
      5:12 -15).

The fact that the poor saints in Jerusalem were still worshipping on the Sabbath at the time of this offering does violence to any attempt to make Sunday the new day of worship. Even after the offering there is no mention of these poor saints worshipping corporately on the first day of the week. If taking up offerings on any day makes that day a new day of worship, then we are going to be all over the place chasing down worship days. What happens now with all of the other excuses that we hear for Sunday worship such as ,Jesus is my Sabbath and we can choose any day for our Sabbath! If the reasons or (excuses) are true, taking up an offering by the church officials on the first day of the week just would not matter. Was Jesus their Sabbath when this offering was taken up and was it true that any and every day could be the Sabbath when that coin clanked into the offering plate or hit the bottom of the charity bag?

@StPeter-zh1rk Well in all those texts you mentioned, you forgot Heb.8:10 “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:” And don't say that was for the nation of Israel.
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28
And why is it you folks always bring EGW ? She has nothing to do with making the Sabbath, but unlike the monks and nuns you mentioned, her writings follow the Bible. That is an excuse on your part for not looking at Biblical facts.
Also remember the Sabbath was instituted at Creation not Sinai. The Lord had the Israelites keeping the Sabbath for over a month before Sinai, remember the miricale of mana ?

@StPeter-zh1rk So you pit the Bible against it self, that's what most people do that argue with what the Scriptures say, remember your not arguing with me, you argue with God. Looks like you also fail to read the Bible. Matt.23:37-39 says O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord." The Jewish nation as a whole are no longer Gods choosen people, individual Jews have the opportunity for salvation, but they like Gentiles are now a part of the seed of Abraham.
And no we do not get our doctrines from EGW, as you are fond of saying "what an ignorant statement you make".
All of our doctrines are Biblical. When you pit Scripture against Scripture, there is no discussion possible with you. You have your self a great day.

@StPeter-zh1rk StPerer, God DID have a Sabbath commandment for MANKIND BEFORE giving the 10 commandments at Mt. Sinai. In fact, if you had kept reading Exodus 16, you would have seen it. LOL!...(SEE EXODUS 16:27-30).....
27 Now it happened that some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather (Manna), but they found none.
28 And the Lord said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My laws? 29 See! For the Lord has given you the Sabbath; therefore He gives you on the sixth day bread for two days. Let every man remain in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.”
30 So the people rested on the seventh day.
So, now you must ask yourself what did God mean in Verse 28 when He said the people were refusing to keep His Commandments and Laws??? What commandments and laws was He talking about? He hadn't given them the laws He wrote at Mt, Sinai yet. So he must have been talking about commandments and laws He ALREADY HAD IN PLACE BEFORE THEN for ALL OF MANKIND, which INCLUDED THE 7TH DAY SABBATH!!! The problem was, the WHOLE WORLD had forgotten those commandments of God, including the Israelites He delivered from Egypt, so He had to remind them of His laws, especially if they were going to be His chosen people moving forward..... Think about it for a minute...If God did not have ANY LAWS or commandments for ALL OF MANKIND to live by BEFORE Mt. Sinai, then He could not have accused anyone on Earth of sin, or held anyone on Earth accountable for sin, because there would have been no law to go by... That's a complete fantasy to believe there was no law or commandments for MANKIND before Sinai. You don't think people on Earth knew it was WRONG to steal, lie, murder, or commit adultery BEFORE Mt. Sinai? That doesn't make sense, and you know it.

I was Reading this chapter out loud and the birds started singing as if to be rejoicing when we were Reading about god's beauty and how awesome. God is when you're just surrounded by nature and then also Jesus when he would also commune out in the wilderness, out in nature by himself just him and His father conversing too one another. To all who are trying to add validity to the practice of the early church fathers worshipping on the first day of the week as an example of Christian worship as an alternative or replacement for the Seventh-day Sabbath, a very practical question comes to mind and that is, who's example were they themselves following. There has to be an example or command given by God that pre-dated them. There is a clear command to worship and rest on the 7th day of the week, and no matter how anyone tries to relegate the Sabbath as only for the Jews, there is no other command from God for any other group of people period. The old and New Covenants were made to the "House of Israel" and it is so funny how the Sabbath was only for the Jews in the old covenant but somehow the "New Covenant" which was also made for the "House of Israel" Sunday Christians are conveniently using it to try and prop up a day of worship that has no footing whatsoever in scripture. If there is no scripture to support Sunday worship in the Bible, it (Sunday) has got to fall into one of two categories, The Commandments of God or the Commandments of Men, there is no middle ground here. We know which day was commanded and we are about to see which day will be demanded!

Calvin Norton: In Genesis, the 7th day is not confined in terms of evening and morning, as the other days.
This day was fulfilled in Jesus, who was the example to the Apostles. You cannot find, anywhere in the New Testament where Jesus keeps the Sabbath and goes to the Synagogue on the Sabbath day, because He Himself is the Sabbath Day. His Sabbath came to His disciples on the first day of the week and broke bread. This was the first corporate worship of the early Church. The Church Father's, since 70ad wrote about this. How is it that you believe in EGW writings 1800 years after Jesus walked this Earth, and you don't believe the Early Church Father's, who knew the Apostles personally, and learned from them?

@@jfarrell2772we have several texts stating Jesus went to the synagogue on the Sabbath Day, the foremost account being Luke 4:16-21.
No where does He say “do not keep the sabbath because I am your sabbath.” Rather He says “I am the Lord of the Sabbath and it is made for man” (Mark 2:27), not just for Jews or apostles. It points us to Jesus as creator and God and worthy of our worship.
So by definition Sabbath was created to “Remember” Jesus’ creative power and therefore cannot be changed.
We see new believers breaking bread daily, and one account of Paul preaching “after the sabbath” on a Saturday night all night long, which by Bible reckoning is the first day of the week. Why? Because he was leaving the area for an extended period of time. It was a farewell speech. He spent the daylight hours of the first day (Sunday) traveling, so by his very actions he was not treating the day as a hallowed day. Not a single verse says sanctity of sabbath was transferred. In fact any account of sabbath worship, by believing Jew or believing gentile was done on the 7th day. No other day.
Keeping Sunday is simply keeping the tradition of man which Jesus said is vanity (Matt 15:9).

If the Sabbath was only for Israel, then ill continue to follow your logic..
Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a 👉new covenant with the house of Israel👈 , and with the house of Judah:
Jeremiah 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

some reason i couldn't reply on the other comment so ill do so here...
All those verses say SABBATH and THE LORD. i was simply making the link between them both like i stated in my 2 previous comments
"These verses clearly show the link between The Lord and the Sabbath."
"I can prove Biblically without EGW that the Sabbath indeed can be called the Lords day."
i know that the Lords day in Rev 1:10 is speaking about the day of his coming as we read in the 2 previous verses...
Rev 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Now you've made another assumption. When SDAs find a problem in verses or doctrine, we don't refer to EGW but apply these 5 key Bible verses...
Isa 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
Mat 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
These are the verses that SDA founders used to fully study the Bible, they would compare scriptures on the same point to find truth. Every single doctrine we have can all be proved in the Bible unlike you said, thats why we can claim Sola Scriptura.
Now in regard to your Historical timeline and your logic that information closer to Jesus being more accurate. Let’s put that into play Biblically..
Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called 👉Christians first in Antioch.👈
The disciples were first called CHRISTIANS in ANTIOCH. So what day were the keeping?
Acts13:14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to 👉Antioch👈 in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the 👉sabbath day👈, and sat down.
Lev 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an 👉holy convocation;👈
Now these verses clearly show them keeping the Sabbath in Antioch and not Sunday. Lev23:3 Says the Sabbath is also a day of Holy Convocation which simply means Assembly.
So, applying your logic, the closest people to Jesus historically who were called the first Christians actually kept Sabbath and not the First day. So there goes your whole stance on timelines...

Now lets carry on with my logic you said was flawed, Here is the difference, I can prove Biblically without EGW that the Sabbath indeed can be called the Lords day. But can you prove that Sunday is the Lords day Biblically without the Church Fathers?

Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Biblically, Gentile believers are grafted in and become Jews. I'm using ideas that belong in the Law and Testimony to support my stance. But like i asked you before which you ignored, can you prove Sunday is the Lords day biblically?

So talking about covenants, with regard to the Sabbath, is worthless, futile, and BIBLICALLY DISHONEST. Where is your biblical support saying that Adam and Eve kept the Sabbath? The Sabbath day in the Genesis creation account was Adam's 1st day on earth. There was no command at all from God to Adam and Eve to keep the seventh day sabbath. No command to the whole world about the sabbath can be read in any pages of the Bible. In context Mark 2 is talking about Jewish people (mankind), not the whole mankind. The God of the Bible is not the source of confusion and double standards. He gave the seventh day sabbath to the Israelites as the SIGN of the Covenant between God and them. No way He is going to turn around and give it to the whole world or if it was meant for the whole world there is no way He is going to give it to the Israelites only. Some Bible scholars believe that there are Edenic and Adamic covenant in the pages of Genesis although not explicitly stated. But one thing is clear, God is a Covenant- Making God and a Covenant- Keeping God as expressed with Noah (Genesis 6:18), Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3, 15:18).

A great example of this is when God asked Abraham to offer his the son he loved as a sacrifice and Abraham obeyed, therefore his faith was displayed.
And in Romans, Paul doesn't mention "works" but he would probably define it as self-justification. That is, seeking to be justified through your merit of keeping the commandments.
Even Paul says to obey the commandments, as someone that keeps the Sabbath, I do it, not to justify myself but because I've acknowledged God as my creator, supreme ruler and savior. It's His Sabbath and he REQUIRES me to observe it, and the least I can do is obey.
It's not about Christians and Jews, it's about those who have a covenant with God. In that agreement God promises he will be my God and I will be among his people if I obey his commandments.

The writer of Hebrews is saying that if entering rest merely meant entering Canaan under Joshua, then we would not have had David repeating the call to enter centuries later. He is referring to Psalm 95:11 in Hebrews 4:7-8. So the writer concludes in verse 9 that there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. The concept the writer is explaining is that the word
"rest" in the Bible is a word God uses to describe entering into salvation by faith, which leads to our glory in God's presence. That rest is God's rest. It's a rest He makes available. It's a rest we enter by faith. When we have faith in His promises, we enter His rest, and since that rest is the Lord's rest, it remains for ever. God has been resting from all His creation work since the seventh day sabbath in the creation account of the Book of Genesis. Likewise, we will enjoy that perpetual rest by our faith. We do not work our way to salvation; we rest in the work God did on our behalf through Jesus Christ. As the writer says in verse 10, the one who has entered the Lord's rest is the one who has rested from his works, just as God rested from His works. The day you receive Christ as your Savior, you cease from trying to attain your own eternal rest.

@StPeter-zh1rk First, it is good that you recognize that the Scriptures declare that acknowledging the Sabbath, which God blessed and sanctified at the creation--for man (Mark 2:27)--was made a covenant for His people, the house of Israel. Notice the reason that it is a sign between God and Israel--"FOR [because] in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed." It is because they recognize the true Creator God. HOWEVER, when sons of the stranger (Gentiles) ACKNOWLEDGED the Creator God by entering covenant with Him, they were expected to observe God's day of rest. "Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant" (Isa. 56:6). If you don't acknowledge the true Creator God, you don't have to keep the Sabbath. But, if you do, "There it is the duty of the people of God to keep the Sabbath" (Heb. 4:11, Syriac).
I hope you know enough about the actual meaning of sabbatismos not to try to argue against the use of Hebrews 4:11 here. The Syriac uses the verb "to keep the Sabbath." The Greek word "sabbatismos" is used repeatedly in the first centuries to describe those who keep the seventh-day Sabbath. For documentation, Google "Sabbatismos in Hebrews (Updated May 24, 2023)"

@StPeter-zh1rk The Sabbath was instituted by God at the end of creation week when he sanctified it and made it holy. No Jews then. Genesis 2:2-3, And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. God set the Sabbath as an example for humanity to follow - not a certain group of people. The sabbath is a gift of rest.
The New Covenant in the NT spoken of in Hebrews 8 restores us to God’s original plan., “I will put my laws in their mind and write them in their hearts.” This is how God’s laws were instilled in Adam and Eve. Because of sin each generation began to follow the laws and rituals and gods of heathen nation and were not keeping God’s laws. They broke the covenant. Sin led Israel into captivity. When they came out of captivity, God had to write his laws on tables of stone with his finger to show they were permanent. They had forgotten the laws - they weren’t written in their heart.
The fourth commandment starts with “Remember the sabbath day”. Exodus 20:11 points back to creation, “For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day, wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it.”
In the NT there was never a dispute about the Sabbath. Early Christians kept the Sabbath. Acts 13:42 “And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.” Acts 13:44 “And the next Sabbath day came almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God.”
Gentiles heard the truth and became Christians and they worshipped on the Sabbath. The Sabbath was not exclusive to Jews. The Jewish nation didn’t even acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah. God wanted the gospel to go out to all the world so that everyone could hear the message and observe the Sabbath.
Sabbath will be observed in eternity
Isaiah 66:22-23 shows that the Sabbath will be kept by the redeemed in the new earth. “For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make shall remain before Me, says the Lord, so shall your offspring and your name remain. From new moon to new moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before Me, declares the Lord” (Isaiah 66:22-23, ESV).
This will occur after sin and sinners have been destroyed and the earth has been restored by God. It says “all flesh” will come together to worship God on the Sabbath. That doesn’t sound like the Sabbath is exclusive to Jews or is of no importance.
John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments. All commandments, including the fourth. You don’t get to pick and choose the ones you want to keep.

In Both Acts 20:7 and 1 Cor 16:2 the sunday worshippers use these to claim the disciples worshiped on Sunday." On the first day of the week...." In Both verses the word "day" is italicized meaning it is not in the original manuscripts but added by the translators. The word "Week" is Sabbaton(Sabbath ) in the greek. Therefore the Verse should be translated " On the first of Weeks" . This is refering to the Feast of Weeks in Leviticus 23. It is the counting of seven weeks starting on the first Sabbath after Passover to determine when the feast of Shavuot occurs. 7 x 7=49 + 1 day is Pentecost. The Seventh day is not confined in terms of evening and morning as the other days...? How was this unconfined day nailed to the cross? And if we started out with an unconfined day in creation, how did we end up with a confined day on Sunday. God happened to rest on this so called unconfined day and he blessed and sanctified it. If this day the Sabbath, and lets be clear was actually unconfined, what need or use would the Jews have for it, they would not be able to observe a day that could not be found. I said in another place that no one knows when or where the Sabbath is until its time to nail it to the cross or say that it was only for the Jews! If as claimed, the Sabbath is unconfined at creation and the New Testament is silent concerning it's observance, then Sunday worship would have to be on life support because it would be dealt a double death blow in both testaments. There is no credible evidence for Sunday worship in any book, chapter or verse in God's Holy word. Jesus is your Sabbath! What happened to Sunday? Why not say that Jesus is your Sunday?

Verse 5 states it's not our righteous works that saves us, but HIS BLOOD. Again, this speak of The Lord's Supper, which you reject. Only through partaking in The Lord's Supper, the Eucharist, is Jesus able to abide in us. AND BECAUSE HE ABIDES IN US, We are purified. Therefore, your perfection which SDAs preach is by your own works of righteousness, NOT BY JESUS ABIDING IN YOU.
Jesus said unless your holiness exceeds that of the Pharasees, and you are able to live the rest of your life WITHOUT ONE BAD THOUGHT OR UNRIGHTEOUS ANGER TOWARDS OTHERS, Then you will NEVER ENTER HEAVEN. Do you think you can achieve that perfection???? Your doctrine is a lie and tramples on the blood and body of Jesus. You can never achieve that kind of perfection, unless you do what Jesus commands. THE EARLIEST CHRISTIAN CHURCH DID NOT WORSHIP ON SUNDAY!!! (See ACTS 11:22-26 and ACTS 13:42-48).
Acts 11:26 Shows that new believers in Jesus were first called CHRISTIANS in ANTIOCH! Acts 13:42-48 shows that these new Christians worshiped on SATURDAY (SABBATH), NOT SUNDAY. In fact, if the Sabbath was supposed to be changed to Sunday in celebration, or in honor, of the resurrection, the Gentiles would have asked Paul and Barnabas to come back the NEXT DAY (Sunday), not the next Sabbath. Or, Paul and Barnabas would have invited the Gentiles to come back the next day, if Jesus had authorized a change in the day of worship, or congregating, to hear the word. Kind of like how I'm and others who believe as I do, trying to CONVINCE you all SDAs about the truth of Jesus.
The only reason the Gentiles were there was because they wanted to hear Paul and Barnabas. What are you talking about? Gentiles didn't even worship on Saturdays at the Synagogue. They were Gentiles, not Jewish.
Since the Jews REJECTED JESUS, kind of like how you all are doing, Paul and Barnabas dusted off their shoes and told the Jews that they were unworthy. After that incident is when Paul focused on preaching to the Gentiles.
Paul and Barnabas were ex communicated from Judaism and were persecuted.
Even though they continued to try and convince the Jews on Saturdays, the Jews continually rejected Jesus.
Once Paul and Barnabas focused on the Gentiles, and the Churches began, such as Corinthians, Ephesians, etc .. the Bible DOES NOT say those Churches met on Saturdays

If GOD (JESUS) had authorized or supported ANY CHANGE in the observance from Saturday (the 7th day Sabbath), to Sunday, as His NEW day of rest and corporate worship, because of Christ's resurrection, or otherwise, ALL of the disciples/apostles would have not only taught new converts about the change in their travels, but also, they themselves would have personally lived by that, whether they were Jewish or not..... As Paul, Barnabas, etc. travelled from city to city, they were gaining new (Jewish AND GENTILE) believers, and were planting churches all along. There were churches in many other cities before they reached Ephesus and Corinth (such as Antioch, Iconium, Lystra, Syria, and Cilicia ...See ACTS 15:3, 15:23, AND 15:41). In ALL of those places their focus was to preach Christ as Messiah and Savior of the world. There was NO NEED to repeatedly preach Sabbath as the day of rest and corporate worship, because the Jews (and even some Gentiles) were already observing the Sabbath. That's why you see BOTH Jews AND Greeks (Gentiles) in the synagogues of Antioch (Acts 13:42-44), Iconium (Acts 14:1), Thessalonica (Acts 17:1-4), and Corinth (Acts 18:4).... GOD himself has always intended EVERYONE (Jews AND GENTILES) to observe the 7th day Sabbath. (See ISAIAH 56:2-4, 56:6-7, and ISAIAH 58:13-14). GOD never authorized the switch to Sunday. "Sunday is NOT the Sabbath." The Roman Catholic Church has declared that they transferred the solemnity from the seventh day to the first. Thus, the Catechism declared, the 3rd commandment about remembering the Sabbath day (4th for Protestants) is binding on Catholic believers. Daniel: we don't worship the Pope. God began a divine magisterium from the beginning. That's why the Bible says Jesus is the cornerstone and His Apostles were the First Living Stones. He gave The "Keys" to Peter. This was the beginning of the Magisterium. Basically the Job of The Pope, The "Representative" of Christ, is to defend The Sacraments of The Catholic Church and all it's teachings. Teachings like: abortion IS a sin ALL THE TIME, Divorce IS A SIN, Remarriage IS ADULTERY, One MUST get baptized, repent of their sins and continuously confess their Sins to be forgiven, Christ is the ONLY ONE who can forgive sins AND Has given Authority to His Priests to Verbally say to the congregation "Your sins are forgiven" by The authority of Jesus. The Priests are NOT forgiving sins, they are telling you "your sins are forgiven" by Jesus, not them. Apostolic Succession is also part of the Magisterium Which Jesus Himself established. Most Importantly, The Eucharist, was established By Jesus Himself, in order for us to be continually cleansed from sin on a daily basis.
All these things were commanded by Jesus Himself.

First, I think you're extremely rude. Second, it didn't make sense because error makes no sense. Your theory is totally absent from the text in Genesis 2. Nothing in there speaks of any of that. You've made a huge theology out of missing information. That is a fallacy of silence. There could be any reason why it doesn't say "evening and morning," but you've decided to make it a reason that fits your theology.
The seventh day is a literal day, whether or not it says "evening and morning" by the simple fact that the word "day," which is the RESULT of the "evening and morning," is present. Each previous day has the phrase to the point that by the time we reach the seventh day, the word "day" is pregnant with that meaning. Moreover, it is probably missing because there was no upcoming eight day, and the phrase was separating one day from the next.
Nothing in the text says that the phrase is missing because of the future Messiah. That's a huge eisegetical interpolation on your part and it is no wonder I was confused, your adding stuff to the text that's not even there.
Please, if you're going to be rude to people you disagree with, at least don't add to the scriptures while you're at it and make them say what it doesn't say. And next time, hop on to the livestream and call me blind there. This is tedious to have to type all the time when you could have just clicked the link.

Genesis 2:3; God blessed the seventh day
Matthew 26:26; Jesus took the bread and BLESSED IT, saying take, eat, this IS MY BODY.
Luke 24: He took bread, BLESSED IT AND BROKE IT

John 6:55; My Flesh IS FOOD INDEED, MY BLOOD IS DRINK INDEED.
Notice, He did not say food and drink are "symbols" of me

All I need to read is Leviticus 23 where the Bible shows us what days the different sabbaths aftually fall on. Verses 2-3 show us that the weekly sabbath was not on set days of any particular month, it was shown to be on the seventh day of the week. Verses 4 and on show that the annual sabbaths were on set days of a month but not the weekly sabbath.
And since the lunar sabbath theory causes you to set the weekly sabbath on the same set days of every month, it is unbiblical.

Jesus fulfilled the 4th commandment by resting in the grave on the 7th day. Then He fulfilled the feast of first fruits by rising on the first day of the week. The name of Jesus is hallowed, He blessed His body and blood, and we are being sanctified by keeping His body and blood, as He commanded. This is the new covenant, in His blood which He commands. This is what we do on Sundays. Keep His body and blood (The Eucharist), as He commanded us. By doing this, we confess with our mouth His death and resurrection, until He comes again.
This Supper is what He himself did on the first day of the week, when He blessed the bread and broke it with His disciples. By this, He is an example of how His Church worshipped from thence forth. That is why the disciples came together on the first day of the week to break bread. This is the continual practice since the early Church which Jesus Himself started. He is the Sabbath of the new covenant, in His blood and this is what He commands us to keep when we keep His other 9 commandments. This is also what Jesus said to keep in order for Him to abide in us. So if you think you are keeping the commandments without the Lord's Supper, then you ARE keeping the commandments by your OWN WORKS. This is what SDAs do not understand

      Two misconceptions:
1 Jesus was fulfilling the Sabbath? No, he was fulfilling the law of Moses. There is no such verse stating the abolishing of the 4th commandment and the verse that points to Jesus as our rest does NOT deny the Sabbath.
2 Jesus never said how often should you have the Lord's Supper, it was not specified, but regardless, the SDA keeps that one and only new commandment, so they understand it's a remembrance of His covenant with us.

    • @jfarrell2772
      @jfarrell2772 4 месяца назад +2

@@MajorGari SDAs do not understand scripture. Jesus said, I did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill. He was talking about the 10 commandments as well. Resting on the 7th day in the grave is proof.
He gave us The Lord's Supper in order that He abides in us, as it says in John 6:56. By this, He gives us power to keep the commandments. Without the Lord's Supper we are keeping commandments by our own works, not through Him. See John 6:53-54,57, John 14:15-17
The Lord's Supper is the new covenant and is the new commandment we keep: The covenant in the OT was the ten commandments which Moses said This is the covenant which God Commands. In The NT, The Lord's Supper is the New Covenant which God commands. See And compare Exodus 24:6-8, Hebrews 9:19-20, speaks of the OT covenant which God expected the Hebrews to keep on a regular basis.
Jesus, who is God in the Flesh now says His Blood is the New Covenant. Matthew 26:28. He expects us to keep it on a regular basis. It's the New commandments in which we still keep. The ten Commandments fulfilled in us through Jesus Christ by eating and drinking His flesh and blood. Through Him we are able to keep the commandments by Him in keeping His Supper, which SDAs reject and are like those people in the parable who made excuses why they couldn't come to the Supper.
Many people can keep the 10 commandments easily without the Lords Supper, like the rich young ruler and the Pharasees. But, that's what it means to keep the commandments by your own works. They remove Jesus by not doing what He said, which is "Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no life in you" He also said, after he broke bread and blessed it, and after He blessed the wine: take and EAT, take this and DRINK. This IS my body, This IS my blood

    • @MajorGari
      @MajorGari 4 месяца назад +2

@@jfarrell2772 And once again I will repeat so that you understand: SDA keeps the Holy Supper with the actual 10 commandments. Also, you have can not show a verse denying the keeping of the Sabbath for this day. It's not a matter of understanding, if Jesus Himself did not declare that the Sabbath was not to be kept anymore, then it is still valid, even Paul explains which commandments were fulfilled by the cross, which was the Law of Moses referring to sacrifices. We no longer need to kill a lamb for our sins, for the Perfect Lamb has already been slain, that's the meaning you're refusing to understand.
And another thing to note, is that, yes, the Holy Supper is a Commandment for us to Remember His sacrifice. Perfect. The New Covenant. HOWEVER, the 4th commandment, the Sabbath, refers to an Eternal Covenant, and a Sign between God and His people, a memorial of WHO Created us, also, it was instituted before Sin, not after, therefore, something that was stablished before Sin can not be changed by consequence of it. The Law still remains the same. Sin requires Death, but God in His mercy sent His son to die in our place. A Death still must occur, why? Because the law can NOT be changed. That's the nature of God. If God could Change the Law, there would be no need for Jesus to die. (and yes, He can change, but it would prove that Satan is Right now wouldn't it?)

Christian church doesn’t keep Sunday holy. So your question makes no sense at all, since in the new covenant there are no holy days. Time isn’t holy. A creation (day) isn’t holy. Only God is holy. You’re confusing the day of corporate worship and you think we believe that Sunday is holy. And that’s exactly what I thought about Christians as an Adventist. I was shocked to learn that Sunday isn’t holy, it’s simply a day when they corporately worship. We worship God every single day, on Sundays we gather to do it corporately. Why? Because that’s what the first church did. It was established on a Sunday, and Jesus after his resurrection would meet them on Sundays, week after week, before his ascension. So they just continued to do that. I never saw that in the Bible as an Adventist. Like I had such a thick veil over my eyes, that even the most simple verses I just didn’t see. For example, the verse that says when women met Jesus on the resurrection Sunday, they worshipped him. Why didn’t he say to them it’s bad to worship him on a Sunday? Because it’s not. There’s no single BAD day for worshipping God.

You would be wrong about Sunday not being considered holy by Evangelicals. If they call it the Lord's day, it's considered holy. Second, your talking about CHANGING A COMMANDMENT. That requires a COMMAND from the Lawgiver. Where is that. If Christ was going to make Sunday a rest day in the New Covenant, He would have announced it BEFORE HE SEALED THE NEW COVENANT WITH HIS BLOOD. You can't add anything to a Covenant once it's been sealed. Sunday is a fraud.

Exodus 34:28 says the 10 commandments ARE the words of the mosaic covenant. Galatians 3 makes it clear, that covenant lasted till Jesus. We are under the new covenant. SDAs keep the 10 commandments like the way they did in the Old Testament. As long as they keep the 7th day Sabbath. You don't understand what it means to keep the Spirit of the 10 commandments. Jesus says, you will not enter heaven, unless your holiness EXCEEDS that of the Pharasees. If you hate your fellow Catholic, you are guilty of murder. If you lust after a woman, you are guilty of adultery. Why don't you apply that to the Sabbath?
Jesus said HIS WORDS ARE SPIRIT, in John 6, when He spoke of eating His flesh and drinking His blood, and at His Supper. His words blessed, hallowed and sanctified Himself, in the New Testament. SDAs are still in the old testament, and are not keeping the 10 commandments the way Jesus told us to. Have you ever hated? Then you're a murderer. Are you not believing in and keeping the Lord's Supper, the way Jesus said?? Then you're breaking the Sabbath!
Holy Spirit, make them see. Open the eyes of the blind. Amen
