- The full name of this cocktail doesn’t exactly have you brimming with confidence about its quality: Growing Old and Dying Happy is a Hope, Not an Inevitability. But trust us, it’s delicious, despite being a drink that breaks a lot of rules. This stirred cocktail is made with Cynar as its base and then it’s accented with rye whiskey, flavored with a pinch of salt, and stirred with not one, but five lemon peels. Served up in an absinthe-rinsed coupe, this is a bitter cocktail that Boulevardier and Negroni fans will want to try. First I've heard of this amazing punk cocktail project, and I love it. I'd be thrilled if you did another half dozen videos about them!
I will absolutely love this beauty!! I am a huge fan of dry and bitter and I love Cynar and Rye so this cocktail is a must make immediately!! The salt is so interesting! I can see it elevating the drink! I adore the Thomas Handy Sazerac but I also very much enjoy the Whistle Pig 10 Year Rye and the Wild Turkey 101! I want a good punch from a cocktail!! I'd love to see all the rogue cocktails!! Huge spirit forward fan here!! Terrific video!! Cheers!! 🙂
