This is so cool. I still have one that I got for Christmas in 1966 (original owner). This video kind of made me want to bring back some of it's luster.
That model Beetle, say, 1957 to 1960, might've come in the classic Emerald Green color scheme, but otherwise extreme perfection! Those die cast metal toys are worth untold gold today. Classic!
Wow just wow. I was mesmerized for 34 minutes. Such amazing attention to detail combined with inventive fabrication techniques. You are truly a gifted and passionate craftsman...one of the best I have seen.
I know purists of restoration would disagree, but I would have painted the bumpers chrome. A part that it is a stunning process to watch. Subscribed for more
I had a similiar Tonka VW in 1966 it was such a great toy I never have found another in all my meanderings I even searched extensively and while looking at a video at a very large California Swap Meet and car show Endless. Toys and Memorabilia and very few Tonkas in sight and my mind was missing my Purple Beetle. Which was quite solid and heavy and would travel great distances outside what a great Toy and What a great restoration you have done ! as you always do -an Artisan -is putting it mildly Thank you Sir I had given up seeing my old Friend but Thanks to you it became real again for a moment in time It was a prized possesion and this transformation was astonishing -what a gift you possess

What a great job you've made, you must have some patience, maybe it's just me but there was something nice about the car in its wrecked state, you've made a better job than the factory produced toys.
Absolutely amazing. The hammer work was so entertaining to watch. How you were able to use such a "big hammer" right next to a right-angle lip sticking up (09:58) seemed like magic. Thanks for sharing! 👍
Another superb restoration from you. A heck of a lot of work for quite a complex car. Well done, your skills and sttention to detail are beyond excellent
Wow! It brings back memories for me, i had the tonka Volkswagen (2) of them, one in blue and other red,and i also had the jeep Wagoner. All the (3) vehicles came with the Tonka mighty auto car carrier,i received them for Christmas on around early 1970s. Great restoration especially the metal work👍
This is an incredibly beautiful restoration. In view of the applying state at the start, you have shown a fine example of evasive work. Then a beautiful piece of paintwork as a finish. Wonderful!!
excellent restoration! your hammer work was beautiful to watch, and your fabrication skills are top notch! thank you for this and all your wonderful videos! 👍
Wow! I can't even wrap my head around the skills and motor control on display here. For restoration, this is a lot of genuine craftsmanship. Large projects don't easily intimidate me. There are some exceptions. Like Fitzee's Garage, as an example, he's a true craftsman at a large scale. But these very small and detailed projects; for me, are incredibly impressive.
I mean... how do you not stretch the metal? I can't even look at sheet metal without warping it, yet this guy can repeatedly hammer it into shape. That is only one of many things blowing my mind here. Much praise and worship!

A truly remarkable feat of skill and patience. I salute you.
Thank you so much! Cheers!👏👏🎉🎉👍👍🍻😄
My mind went numb when you started rebuilding the bumpers. Dang, that was next-level stuff.
Wow thank you so much! Cheers!🍻😄🎉🎉👏👏👍👍
¡Esto no parecía restaurable, pero su talento lo volvió a lograr! ¡Mis felicitaciones por esta asombrosa restauración, y completo video!
Thank you so much for your compliment and wonderful comment!!!👍👍 🙂
This is so cool. I still have one that I got for Christmas in 1966 (original owner). This video kind of made me want to bring back some of it's luster.
Your beetle is also cool! Thank you for sharing and comment!!!
That model Beetle, say, 1957 to 1960, might've come in the classic Emerald Green color scheme, but otherwise extreme perfection! Those die cast metal toys are worth untold gold today. Classic!
That's a art taking that VW apart 😊👍❗️
Yes it was! Thank you!👏👏🎉🎉😅
@@ar_restoration you are welcome 😊
Wow just wow. I was mesmerized for 34 minutes. Such amazing attention to detail combined with inventive fabrication techniques. You are truly a gifted and passionate craftsman...one of the best I have seen.
Glad you liked it! Thank you so much!👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉🍻😄
I know purists of restoration would disagree, but I would have painted the bumpers chrome. A part that it is a stunning process to watch. Subscribed for more
That a good idea, thank you for the comment and support! Sorry for the delayed response.
That is just fantastic. What a craftsman and a terrific hobby. I envy you.
My pleasure, thank you so much!🎉🎉👏👏👍👍
Это же сколько труда ушло на маленькую машинку. А сколько сил и души уйдёт на большую? Душу машинки сохранили. Класс!
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment!👏👏👏👍👍👍
That’s very cool! Thank you so much for your sharing and wonderful comment!!!👏👏👍👍🎉🎉🍻😄
The one thing I never understand is how the metal still has integrity after the rust is sandblasted. Beautiful finished work!
Different materials require different blasting media, and most pressed steel can be accepted the stronger media. Thank you for the comment!👍👍
My good friend TONKA toy they were created to last for centuries that is why they are the best toys world wide! ❤❤
There are no words to describe what you do WOW 😦😦😦
Wow thank you!🎉🎉👍👍👏👏
Meticulous work, I am impressed. Having owned 3 vw beetles in my youth (‘58,’66,’67) this is nostalgic.
Marvelous work! Huge respect and support from Australia!

You are preserving a small part of history to be enjoyed for generations to come. Well done!
Many thanks!🎉🎉👍👍
What a great job you've made, you must have some patience, maybe it's just me but there was something nice about the car in its wrecked state, you've made a better job than the factory produced toys.
Wow thank you so much for your wonderful comment!👍👍👏👏🎉🎉
Loved the vignettes with the tow truck, mechanic, and tool chest. Those made the video extra special.
Glad you like it! Thank you so much!!!👍👍👏👏😄
Ironic that the floor pans were rusty, just like almost every other VW Bug. 😂
Excellent work!!
Thank you!🎉🎉👏👏
so it's a 1:2 ratio ?
😂😂 so true!
You went above and beyond to fix this old toy 😮. I enjoyed watching you work. I plan on watching some more of you videos in the future. ✨️🚙✨️👍
Beautifully done. Love V Dubs. My dad had his for 21 years.
That’s cool! Thank you so much!👍👍👍
Absolutely amazing. The hammer work was so entertaining to watch. How you were able to use such a "big hammer" right next to a right-angle lip sticking up (09:58) seemed like magic. Thanks for sharing! 👍
Good question, I also used a chisel, but the video failed. Thank you for the comment!!!
What a show stopper! You my friend arre a master of your craft. Brought back sweet memories. Thank you!
No talking and no music just pretty cool restoration.
It’s also cool. 👏👏👍👍
Another superb restoration from you. A heck of a lot of work for quite a complex car. Well done, your skills and sttention to detail are beyond excellent
Wonderful comment! Thank you so much for your compliment and support as always!!!👍👍🎉🎉🍻😄
Wow! It brings back memories for me, i had the tonka Volkswagen (2) of them, one in blue and other red,and i also had the jeep Wagoner. All the (3) vehicles came with the Tonka mighty auto car carrier,i received them for Christmas on around early 1970s. Great restoration especially the metal work👍
Very cool! Thank you so much!👍👍🎉🎉👏👏
This is an incredibly beautiful restoration. In view of the applying state at the start, you have shown a fine example of evasive work. Then a beautiful piece of paintwork as a finish. Wonderful!!
Thank you so much for your compliment and wonderful comment 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👍👍👍
excellent restoration! your hammer work was beautiful to watch, and your fabrication skills are top notch! thank you for this and all your wonderful videos! 👍
It’s so wonderful comment! Thank you so much for your compliment and support!!!👍👍🎉🎉🍻😄
Glad you liked it! Thank you so much for your wonderful comment!👏👏👏👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉🍻😄
Soy feliz viendo estos videos, me relajan, me transportan, me hacen soñar... cuantas cosas hay para darles una nueva vida, mi admiración total 👏
My pleasure. Thank you so much for your wonderful comment!!!👏👏🎉🎉👍👍😄
