A friend of mine bought an old metal pedal-car for his daughter. He brought it to an auto body shop and had the guy restore it. The guy used paint left over from another job he did. It came out so pretty he wouldn't let his daughter take it outside. Those old kiddie-cars held more charm than the plastic ones they make today, because they were made of real metal like Daddy's car. Wonderful job, as always.
I never comment on videos of any kind, but I feel like I need to say two things. One, the level of skill shown here is incredible. Two, I really like that it's not a clipped 15-minute video showing only highlights; the hour long is a perfect length to see and appreciate the entire restoration. Excellent work.
I was born in '54...this beautiful restored car reminds me of my Dad's Buick Roadmaster! I never had one of these, but played with several kids in my neighborhood who had them...I understand that these in good original condition are very desirable to collectors! From start to finish...it is always a delight to watch a MASTER CRAFTSMAN apply his or her skills, as you certainly have done here! ❤👍
I agree, the longer video format and the lack of music allowing for the natural audio of a craftsman and his tools. This might be weird, but these videos are very ASMR-inducing for me. They are very relaxing to listen to.
Thanks! This restoration is brilliant. This marks my third time to watch it all the way through. That red color is spectacular. The attention to detail is beyond the pale. Well done!

Over the top on this one--from the silver nitrite 'chrome' finish to the dash details!!!! Wow, this is something else to watch! Not sure about restoration as that implies taking it back to what it was. This has to be better than it was new!! A joy to watch your talent. Excellent! Thanks for sharing your passion!
A great restoration. When I was a young boy I owned two of these cars. They were both my everyday pedal cars. Brings back great memories. Today is January 13th 2023. Thank you for the Post.
THANK YOU for saving such a great toy. I am almost sixty years old and had a pick up truck version of a pedal car. This is an important object from a great time when toys fuelled the imagination and the imagination fuelled toys. Great memories.

Wow from Thailand! Totally forgot to drink my coffee this morning. Jaw dropping restoration with a ton of skills and eye to detail. Loved the silver nitrate 'trick', kind of magic. Two questions though. Why didn't you keep the steering wheel black? Would have been a nice contrast. I wondered why you spray painted the body, but powder coated the rest. Nice touch blurring your picture out while putting on the hub caps. Can't wait for your next video. This was awesome!

Ich habe auch deine Lederarbeiten bewundert. Bitte weiter mit solchen Videos. (Excellent work in every regard! "Impressive" is an understatement. Thank you for the detailed walk through your restoration process. I also admired your leather work. Please continue with such videos).
After watching, I read through your notes. I liked everything about the restoration, a beautiful piece of workmanship. I'm glad you called in help when you needed it. I'm surprised you managed to actually find a manual for it. My brother and I had an old wooden pedal car, but it was so heavy, no concrete to drive it and and the grass was too thick to really get any good use out of it, other than having someone strong enough to push it. It finally fell to pieces in the 70's from the weather. Oh well... we preferred to build our own billy-carts/go-carts. Again, brilliant work, thanks for sharing it with the world.
Well my friend, I have never seen this level of attention to detail on a pedal car in my life, just incredible. I have watched Chip Channel restore Tonka cars on this level, but not this scale. I too am from Michigan, and this thing is worthy of the Sema show. You are one talented individual, and what a great shop you have there, I thought you were gonna flame it out, looks like Buick Special Lead Sled, it`s been a pleasure to watch, just insane, my friend, I subbed.
This little car is so adorable 😍 I would have loved to see it painted back pink but the red is cute too. You done a terrific job restoring this car back to life!
Bar none, this is the most masterful restoration I have ever seen!! Your skills are head and shoulders above anyone I have seen. Thank you for sharing this piece of art so fully. The hour seemed to fly by. After such a display of incredible shills, why would someone mention a typo on ‘not’ ? Thanks again for sharing your work.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one to notice the typo. It's incredible however, given all the care and meticulous attention to detail that the only flaw is as miniscule as a typo. Easily overlooked. This is a magnificent piece and the time and dedication that went into it's restoration...nay rebirth, is a testament to the resolve of the individual who took the time to not only work on it, but to film, edit and present for everyone to enjoy. My hat goes off to @meinemechaniker for entertaining and delighting us all with his skill. I look forward to watching even more of his projects come back to life.

This is a 1950's style pedal car but it is more recent vintage. Google pink 1950's style pedal car super sport.
LOL. I did. Drinking my coffee and saw the velcro and was like: "Whaa" immediately went to google. I can only assume this was added later.
This is definitely a newer, but vintage style pedal car. Nyloc nuts weren't invented until the mid 60's.

Hervorragende Arbeit in jeder Hinsicht! „Beeindruckend“ ist eine Untertreibung. Vielen Dank für den ausführlichen Rundgang durch Ihren Wiederherstellungsprozess. Ich habe auch deine Lederarbeiten bewundert. Bitte weiter mit solchen Videos. (Excellent work in every regard! "Impressive" is an understatement. Thank you for the detailed walk through your restoration process. I also admired your leather work. Please continue with such videos).
Thank you so much sir
Absolutely stunning! In FAR better better condition than even when it was originally purchased. Mesmerizing video.
Thank you so much sir 🙏🏻
Amazing restoration! I love the red but it would have been nicer to have it painted pink again 🥰
Thanks a lot
The deepest respect for your craftsmanship. Just a pleasure to watch 👌🏻
🙏🏻
Well my friend, I have never seen this level of attention to detail on a pedal car in my life, just incredible. I have watched Chip Channel restore Tonka cars on this level, but not this scale. I too am from Michigan, and this thing is worthy of the Sema show. You are one talented individual, and what a great shop you have there, I thought you were gonna flame it out, looks like Buick Special Lead Sled, it`s been a pleasure to watch, just insane, my friend, I subbed.
Thanks sir
Excellent work.
Thank you! It was a labor of love!
This little car is so adorable 😍 I would have loved to see it painted back pink but the red is cute too. You done a terrific job restoring this car back to life!
Thanks mr johnson
Bar none, this is the most masterful restoration I have ever seen!! Your skills are head and shoulders above anyone I have seen. Thank you for sharing this piece of art so fully. The hour seemed to fly by. After such a display of incredible shills, why would someone mention a typo on ‘not’ ? Thanks again for sharing your work.
Thanks Calvin 🙏🏻
I'm glad I wasn't the only one to notice the typo. It's incredible however, given all the care and meticulous attention to detail that the only flaw is as miniscule as a typo. Easily overlooked. This is a magnificent piece and the time and dedication that went into it's restoration...nay rebirth, is a testament to the resolve of the individual who took the time to not only work on it, but to film, edit and present for everyone to enjoy. My hat goes off to @meinemechaniker for entertaining and delighting us all with his skill. I look forward to watching even more of his projects come back to life.
Fantastic work! You are consistently one of the very best restoration artists on YT, your attention to detail is impeccable!
Absolutely gobsmacked it looks amazing, what a incredibly talented person Love that we get to watch from start to finish and its an hour

Everybody sreaming “what a great restoration” …
“RESTORATION” means give back the original appearance as faithfully as possible … this car is f******g RED! It was light lilac!
What no wide rims , no entertainment center, no chip tuning it’s not even lower……. Ist it wonderful to have something be and look so simple but yet still shine like a diamond and get everyone’s heads turning? Gorgeous👍🏻
