I had a Ford Fairlane pedal car my parents bought for me at a Western Auto Hardware Store when I was about four or five years old. Same design as this, minus the fire engine accoutrements. It was a mint green color. They had eight mm home movies of me pedaling around in that car. I was one happy camper! 😃 Rode around in it so much my dad had to replace the tires. He mounted the new ones by heating them in near boiling water to make them pliable enough to mount. We ended up donating it to our church nursery when I outgrew it. I am sixty-two now.
i had that very truck, i also came w 2 wooden ladders that went on the side racks. wow i never thought id ever see that type of toy ever again. thx for saving it.
My brother had a sky blue peddle car that was so much like this. We played with that car forever. I think you did an amazing job with the truck, especially considering all of the scratches and dents on the surface. Love your work!
All worth it for a happy child, future reference: even light coats of paint makes a smoother finish and you can soak those tires in hot water and they go on easier
Fun restoration! Looks like you could increase your air pressure, or thin your paint more for better atomization. This would cause less texture (orange peel) in your paint.
I am not a body man or an expert but I feel that more surface preparation would have produced a better final finish. Don't take my criticism too harshly. I applaud your effort and you saved a nice piece of history.
I'm a recently retired auto body tech of 50 years. This paint job made me cringe. Having said that I do appreciate the effort. We all start out at the same place.
Great job!👍

Ditto, still have bugs Bunny but no firetruck, wore the pintle bearings out
Awesome, did you have a light too? If so, do you recall what it looked like?
Great effort well done.

I had one of those when I was a kid. I got it on Christmas when I was about 3 years old. (Yes, I'm ancient.)

He should have made the headlights to work, as he made a flashing red light.
I definitely thought about it. But this restoration had already stretched on for almost 2 years due to some "life interruptions."
Почему именно пудра? Это самый удобный способ окрашивания?
