Had exactly the same pipe vice in my old workshop, although I preferred to use the chain vice as it gripped better without burring the pipe too much. Fantastic restoration, I'm sure they didn't leave the factory with such quality finishing!
I'm sure the original and most other intended users would chuckle over the excessive effort lavished on this utilitarian tool just to make it beautiful. But can't deny the stunning result or how satisfying it is to watch the process. It's like this pipe vise went to a luxury beauty spa ...
There are so many fake restoration channels out there, and I feel lucky to have discovered yours. You’ve truly shown me what genuine artistry looks like.
This guys work is really something else. I don't know if I want to call it high level craftsmanship or art. Every piece he does looks like it could sit in a gallery. He has ruined other DIY channels!
I know some people complain at times that your work doesn't always match everyone's concept of a "restoration," but I think it is something just as important -- perhaps what could be called a "masterwork transformation," an attempt to reach the ideal that was only approached by the original object or machine. Magnificent work.
He is not "restoring" anything here. He is repairing. It is misleading. Think about it. I am not at all saying that his "repairs" are bad; not in the slightest. All I am saying is that he thinks he's restoring when, in fact, that is not the case. Anytime you have or want to make a new part you lose the moniker of restoration. It is no longer original.
One thing I believe, some pieces were made. The rest is all doubts. The author made the piece rustier (easy for these guys make it). Did he bend some surfaces? Hammered it or applied heat to bend it easier? I don't know if he is the person doing the new pieces, he never shows his face. With so many scam videos, each day is harder to believe in really and true restorations, thanks to the scammers.
I was so excited to get on RUclips and see a new video from you! I love how your stuff is so shiny you have to blur your reflection in it. Amazing job! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Yeah, I was concerned at first and thought it was for fear of being demonetized because he was squeezing them in the vice. It took me longer than it needed to realize it was the reflection.
Her zaman bu tür videoları başkası yapar biz izlerdik. Ürünleri görene kadar Türk olduğunu bile anlamadım.Yaptığınız iş çok profesyonelce. Emeğinize elinize saglık.İyi ki varsınız.
Thanks for the new video! Awesome job as always. Until now I have never yelled at a RUclips workshop video. When you were cleaning up the jaws, I started saying “you better not blue them. They better get plated.!” Thankfully all is well - the jaws are plated and my blood pressure is down.
There was so much the do with that vice. That must’ve taken an incredible amount of time to restore. But, you cease to surprise. Beautiful job. I briefly thought there would be a problem when you started hammering on the heated casting to re-round the base. But, everything worked out. See you on the next project.
When I first discovered Meine Mechanicher's channel, I tought it was another channel of My Mechanics. I'm glad these are from different people as both channels shows great craftmanchip and talent in restauration.
@@meinemechaniker Hi. Mach weiter so. Danke!!!
So, One thing I really like about your channel is that it's genuine... I see a lot of restoration videos where the person clearly made the piece they are restoring way worse just to make a video. It's very cheesy to me. Please don't ever do that! I'd rather not see a video and wait a while than see a bunch of videos that were clearly staged just to make a video. Don't ever change!!! Love your channel.... My interest is woodworking videos but your channel is really wonderful to watch!
What you are referring to are the “fraudsters” who only want us to watch the adverts in their video and not what they are committing fraud with 😠, this restorer is genuine 🤗
Yes, I messed up! Sorry for that. But you too are great, the perfectionism of you both (besides the similar name) confused me. Congratulations from Minas Gerais and do not disappear, as he did. : )
Outstanding! What you and your ultra-ego do, mymechanics, is pretty cool. Always impressed with your metallurgy, lathe and milling skills. As always, the attention to detail stands out. Well done Sir 👏
Have to stop calling yourself a mechanic and start callijg yourself a necromancer the way you bring these things back to life. P.s. the red looks absolutely amazing

Very interesting video
Thanks for restoring a piece of Erie history.
Appreciate it!
This pipe vice went from (probably) functional to a work of art and a thing of beauty. I enjoyed the restoration.
I'm glad you liked it.
Always a good day when you have a new video out. Workmanship is incredible. Thanks for sharing your talents!
Thank you so much Dave

That came out good, I saw it was made in 1971.....one year younger than me. If only I could be restored as well as those tools. Excellent work.
you are still new, best regards sir
I’m a ‘73 product and I said the same thing!!
one of your best, MM. As ever, a tribute to your skills but also to the people who designed and manufactured these excellent devices.
Thank you so much
Great work by a master craftsman. Thanks!
Thanks Jim
What an artist! Absolutely perfect on every detail!

Great resto!

I think I have more than 100 files that are not the same.
Some will say it now looks better than when new. Those people are correct. It's a piece of art, worthy to be on display at The Louvre. 👍👍👍
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Nice, made in sweet home Pennsylvania. Right around the time I was too.
🙏🏻thanks sir
Very detailed and very clean restauration! Great video, cut and editing, too! 👍
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Elinize sağlık. Mükemmel bir video daha.
Çok teşekkür ederim çok sağolun eksik olmayın 🙏🏻
The work and pride of a Renaissance Guild craftsman shows in every restoration you do.
Thank you so much
I have consistently been growing more and more suspicious of the idea that you and My Mechanics are just the same guy... 😂
:=)
Same outrageous, galactic level of mechanical knowledge and skill.
"I make another"
My mechanics would never unnecessarily wear gloves😂their names are suspicious tho
Came here for this comment 😂 reckon the gloves are so people can’t compare hands 🤔
I believe it’s his dad

Hey guy
I have a couple of these vises. I grew up in Erie not too far from the Reed factory, they are actually still in business.
Show peice vise no doubt. Beautiful finishing as always!

Thank you. I heard there is no hammerite america. But this red hammerite is not available in any country other than England.
