Nice work. I was on eBay a couple weeks back, ok every day but I’m referencing a specific instance, and was bidding on a 56 tow truck. It was a basket case to be sure but I like tow trucks and I wanted this one to restore even though it was missing one of the fenders on the bed... I was outbid by some guy and just shrugged it off as can’t win them all. Imagine my surprise when I see the very 56 in your boneyard!! Well played sir!! Makes me wonder if I won any that you were after, I’ve won a couple of spirited competitions lately so it’s entirely possible. See you in the trenches! PS if you were after the ‘49 NO.180 that was won by an .11 cent margin... that was me😎
LOL!!! It's hard to stay on top of those eBay auctions anymore. If you aren't watching the last few seconds you'll loose it! I watch for rough toys all the time on eBay and let some of them go, but if they are really bad... I end up bidding higher haha. Thanks for watching Dadvice!! and thanks for letting me win every now and then!
I have a lot of rough ones as well, I love bringing them back to life. Working on a 56 tow truck that went through a fire, and a 49 dump truck that has spent the majority of its life rusting away in a cold dark old garage. Old gentleman that sold it to me didn’t even know what it was, thought it was a buddy L so I let him know what it was... after I handed him the money for it!! I’m up to around 60+ trucks in my collection one of which I got brand new in ‘77. I’m just glad to see that I’m not the only Tonka obsessed adult.

For some reason I find the sand blasting strangely satisfying!
