I finished my morning chores and I was watching this restoration. I had to pause this because it was my lunch time and I did not want to miss anything. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
The entire time I was thinking about how robust the toys were in those days. Nowadays, we have a lot of cheap plastic options that break and get thrown away easily, generating a lot of waste. Some of the toys are not even well thought out and created to only fulfill temporary interests. Anyway! Lovely restoration. It's incredible how much dedication you put into it, creating your own molds and everything. Very enjoyable to watch.
I have a trick I've used for years to clean plastic parts with lots of nooks and crannies. I put the parts in an athletic sock and run it through the wash with my other laundry. The detergent, warm water, and gentle agitation does a very good job. If the parts are fragile you might want to skip the spin cycle, though I've never broken a part using this method.
I started watching this channel for the powder coating (and the sheep!) but you amaze me with all the new techniques and that you show all the steps. I was in awe at the injection molded new whitewall retaining rings. No steps are skipped and no fake trickery like in many of these resto channels. Just incredible restorations!
I notice that most of your items come without caked on rust and dirt. If you ever get a car or truck with baked on dirt and rust, I hope you will do manual labor by scrubbing and chipping before using the sandblaster. This is no way a dislike, I just love to watch the scrubbing and chipping. I have a feeling this is going to be my favorite of all your restorations, I’m watching everything you are doing with joy as you clean, create, and it is obvious you put your heart in this (and every one you do) restore. As I’ve said before, you are my favorite restorer!
Lots to be said here. First, it always brings a smile to my face when I see those beat up vehicles because it means that at some point in the past some kid really had tons of fun with it. Then, the restoration itself; this is nothing less than a masterclass. For every conceivable problem you come up with solutions with a surprising array of tools and machines. Then there's the dedication, easily seen with the time spent making the molds for the whitewalls. This truly makes you the best damned restorer on YT! Can't wait to see the next one and always hoping to see the Tonka truck I had as kid and that my father threw away.
I used to play scrapyards with my toy cars by smashing them flat with a hammer, just like in a real scrapyard. His scrapyard is a bit tame, he just piles them up, but I guarantee if they came into my scrapyard, he wouldn't be restoring them!
Looks better than new. You may try chucking the old tires in a drill press and while spinning them heat them with a heat gun, sometimes you can save them.
He has the tools now to make a lot of parts he could make/sell to other restorers. My dad has a Galion brand dump truck, prob'ly 1950s or '60s. I haven't found any pics of his truck online, so I can't narrow it down much. I don't have any tools to restore, but even though none of us kids get along w/ him, as someone who loves history, I want to keep that truck when he dies.
I had one of these as a kid -- a hand-me-down from someone, probably an older cousin. It was that 1960's shade of light blue that was so popular. Well done!
Thanks for another incredible restoration, beautiful job! Wanted to let you know that you have inspired me to dive into restorations myself. I’ve done around 10 Tonkas so far and each one seems to be getting better, my powder coating still isn’t as good as it could be but I’m getting there. I’m currently working on a Snorkel and I have a Jeep Dune Buggy (from my childhood) next in line. Thanks for the inspiration and the hours of enjoyment watching and learning from your videos!
Chip has the tools expertise and most of all the patience to restore these old "well loved" forgotten toys back to better than original sore shelf condition. Great work!
I was thinking of saying something that's sentimental the most, do you even restore old timer text books, guide books and reading books? That's all kinds of books. 🤔
I’m running out of descriptive accolades to describe your work, Chip! Outstanding, as always. The work that went into those whitewall replacements was extremely interesting. Also kind of interesting that the fender decals only go on one side(?). After the review of all your previously restored work it occurred to me that you must go through a lot of Swiffer duster refills! Thank you for the biweekly entertainment. 👍👍👍 ~ John
I actually remember Nylint toys only having decals on one side. Since most of their toys were sold in an open-sided box, only the side of the car/truck that faced outward got decals. As a kid, I thought it was weird.
Impressed with how you dealt with the spot welds. I've seen many videos where the restorer has left the item partially assembled rather than deal with spot welds. Good Job!
When you started cutting into that aluminum block, I was like, why is he making those plastic Whitehall pieces out of aluminum. Then you made the other piece. Ok I said, just pour plastic into it. Noooo, you had to break out the miniature injection molding machine, BOOM!!! Blew my mind dude. I used to work on injection molding machine and that little thing was the coolest. Great job.
Absolutely gorgeous, as usual, the paint looks like glass. I see you are investing quite a few bucks into your`e restoration arsenal, that`s an amazing piece of machinery, wow 5 hours and creating your own molds, and rubber injection. No more buying good used whitewalls. Stunning to say the least.
Clearly Chip Channel sets the standard: 1) A couple of days ago I saw a restoration channel use spray paint. I nearly clicked off then and there. 2) Another restoration channel used nickle plating for the first time. Must have learned it here. Hmmm....
I remember having a very similar toy as a kid in the 70s. I don't recall if it was this exact model, must have been. It I remember it being a different color. I love this channel. It's like a much needed time machine to see my old toys come to life again
If you have time. I would scan the tires, hubs, and other small pieces in CAD to have them when needed. Just a suggestion. We did it at work for special tooling fixtures. It did save some time.
What glorious Sunday!!! Plenty of leftovers to munch on and watch a master work. Boy oh boy!
Your workshop is sensational. It certainly puts my 2 spanners, a screwdriver and a hammer to shame.
Great restorations, thoroughly enjoyed it.
To chip channel well done on restoring the red buggy with the new hook on the back from paul chapman at east sheen
Hey Chip
The red is perfect
Outcome beautiful
Me too every time very nice work love your channel Brother always so sweet very nice work Lee
I finished my morning chores and I was watching this restoration. I had to pause this because it was my lunch time and I did not want to miss anything. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Great work as always .

Thank you! I am going to try this.
It probably acts very much like that ultrasonic cleaner I've seen a few times.
what a great day to watch a true artist work his magic
Ahhh. I just got it 'Li'l Tow' as in 'Little Toe' 🧡 Superb as always 🧡

The sheer amount of resources hes got is insane to me. Amazing restoration.
Just what I was thinking! Guy must be very well off to have all those super expensive high tech tools and machines. 🤑
I know right! But I do like watching!
Great job again
Another great job on restoring a toy from the past that some kid had fun with.
The older toys hold up so much better than today's do. It's nice to see them get restored.
I'm impressed!

I agree, I love watching the dirt and grime come off and end up in the water or in the parts washer. Sand blasting comes later!
Like Sam the cooking guys channel... I clicked the 👍 before i watched, why because i know it will be F ing awesome !
Another nice restoration tanks.

In the world of restoration, you Sir, are the absolute gold standard!.....
Wow brilliant work again and such a finish. Thank you..
Nice restoration project well done.
You sir are a master craftsman.... thanks for your wonderful restoration to neglected beautiful toys... keep up the amazing work!!!!!
Always nice to have a gigantic kitty in the mix, admiring your resto!
Oh yes, it is my favorite! I will keep looking for another restore to make favorite
Pretty! Head for the sandbox and hope the dunes aren't built on something the kitty left behind.
Looks better than new. You may try chucking the old tires in a drill press and while spinning them heat them with a heat gun, sometimes you can save them.
Oh good lord you’re a mold maker. Awesome. 😎
Of course he does; makes people like me jealous as hell of his incredible skills! 😑
Absolutely perfect.
Nice job👍
Very interesting video.
Loved the bit of cad-cam and injection moulding.
Awesome job on the tiers
That was really awesome!!
Nice buggies. Ready for the sand
The restoration work has been done really well, but honestly it's the first time I've seen a dune buggy tow truck! 😄
You do a good job at Restoration old toy from the pass
I like when you due sand blasting
Wow another fine job …. 👍🏻👍🏻 keep the videos coming please
Some serious new kit there…..aluminium sheep keychains for chip channel shop!? Great restoration. Really fine job and a pleasure to watch.

Aaaaaaaà
Are you making videos of your restorations too?
I have to say by the look of those tires and the pulley wheel that was a well loved toy to some young child. Glad to see it get a second chance.

Professionnel !
Super cool, especially self-made replacement details, very expensive, but cool.
great job !
Bonjour , C'est vraiment très beau tout ces petits véhicules la rénovation est remarquable . Merci de nous partager une belle aventure 🙂🙂🚗🚙🚎🚚
Really nice resto. Especially fabbing the molds for the rubber sidewalls. Very insightful. Thanks for sharing.
I used to have this exact car. Man I miss my childhood...

How about restoration god?

This is an absolutely beautiful restoration of a very kool car!!! ...and that red!!!!!
Beautiful work the paint is flawless lv it
I was waiting for this little buggy to be refurbished! Good high school memories
In my friends buggy!
Chip, was that back fender supposed to be there, or on the other front one? It looks rather odd and one-sided!
I was asking about the sticker.
Now you’re just showing off! Nice little CNC mill with some serious skills!!
Looks supercool. Love the colour and the stickers
good job!
Dune buggy wrecker, unique,as always great video, you’ve outdone yourself 😎😎😎👍👍👍

WoW! Just WoW!
Restorated beyond recognition!
And I always respect the whole work.

Just changed up your whole game. Lot of possibilities. 👍
Another awesome restore. Thanks, Chip!👍👍
🏅🏆Saludos master...flamante... de lujo trabajo increible...Saludos desde Viña del Mar Chile🇨🇱👍👍👍
That's where my husband was born. He goes there twice a year 😀
What a lot of goodies you have to restore. Wish you were here to do them more often.
You just took it to a whole new level with those white wall inserts. Your channel never disappoints.
Great Work!!! That turned out Awesome!!👍
This one completely blew me away 👍 very impressed with the injection molding. The finished project looks absolutely amazing.
A very very good job well done ! make's me think of my younger day's!
Fantástic restoration
who would of thought the little dune buggy would of been put together so well.
What an awesome job, enjoy watching and learning from the master
BAM, He takes it up another notch, just when you think he can’t (because they are perfect). Love the nylint rims!
I remember having a very similar toy as a kid in the 70s. I don't recall if it was this exact model, must have been. It I remember it being a different color. I love this channel. It's like a much needed time machine to see my old toys come to life again
Those concealed rivets and surprise spot welds are beyond evil...
Please do lots more of your restorations! They help me forget my pain. I enjoy them so!
I always find it so satisfying to watch the sand blasting on the parts and bringing the metal back to life. Anyone else feel that way too?
That's one of coolest things I've seen lately. Nice shop
Me encanta el humor que tienes con tus ovejas, me encanta tu gato y sobre todo el gran trabajo al volver a dar vida a todos esos juguetes, felicidades
The injection moulding is superb!
Looks great. Just wish you had kept it orange.
INSANE JOB, CONGRATS!!!
Didn't know there was a dune buggy tow truck love the white and red fantastic job again 👏
That turned out BEAUTIFUL!!! I love buggies.
Making the mold is amazing!
Nice to see a product from my home town being used in your video 😁 I enjoy all your restoration videos
Congratulation chip Channel the Fábio and Rafael from Brazil. The wonderfull restauration. Good look the chanel.
Judging by your scrapyard, you're not going to run out of projects any time soon. Love your work, as always.
Did you see his finished projects section?
@@thompson1374 I've watched every one of his videos all the way through. I love the way he has evolved over the years.
Just the demolition of the piece is masterful. Really says a lot about your quality work. Well done sir
