    It says a lot about you that you took responsibility for the heater damaging that board. Especially since you said in your 1 year video that you gained a lot of patience in that year. Props to you for that, I know a lot of people that would have just gotten mad and not learned from it.

    I'm digging this channel. I been printing for 20 years, I can remember doing stuff like this. It still all start to click keep up the hard work. The screen thing... We can coat, dry, rinse, burn, rinse, and dry all with in 20 min. We expose between 100 - 150 screens a day. It takes practice and a well planned system, im sure you'll do great.

    My first job I cut a sticker and applied it to a screen. Door hinges on a 110 screen and my wife would cure it with a heat lamp. I never stopped now my shop is bubbling with a auto press. (Ink2Threads printing) couldn't be happier. It's a rough journey but if you throw good prints you will succeed. Where you are now is exactly what I'm talking about. Home shop with an auto! Dope shit bro

    I never risk having a problem with exposing screens, I always end up doing things with little time left and redoing things last minute sucks. I never expose unless the screen has sat drying overnight. I built my own LED exposure unit and I burn screens in 40 seconds. Cost me about $40 including the glass, but it doesn't have vacuum, I use foam and weights but works great. The idea came to me late one night and seemed so simple and thought it wouldn't work because I haven't seen anyone else do it but I went and built it anyway and it works better than anything else I've had. If you'd like I can send you a pic of it and see if you'd want to try it. Keep on keeping on!

    Believe me I was under exposing my screens till the rep at saati gave me one of those exposure calculators. And once I got the times down got myself a little book to write down the times so I don’t question is it this time or that time especially if you use different screen tensions. Yes I usually let me screens dry overnight just to make sure they are good to go. I don’t have one of those fancy drying cabinets but I made a cabinet and I use a box fan to circulate the air inside of it to help with the drying of screens. Works for me.

    Been watching your channel for a while and since you did the screen printing pivot I will tell you a story.
    Back in 1980 a friend ( let's call him Dave ) had a screen printing business set up in a storage unit in southern
    California
    and since I went to a lot of concerts he wanted me to sell his bootlegs at shows.
    Unfortunately he was not a stellar Speller and he gave me a big box of Motley Crew T Shirts which was not the correct spelling so I refused to try and sell them lol
    He tried to convince me that anyone listening to that kind of music wouldn't notice 😂
    He ended up donating them to the Salvation army and I always looked when driving around to see if they had made it to the street but never saw one .

    Hey bro ive been working at a screen shop for 11 years we use all m&r machines. You have to spray the face of the screen to remove emulsion from stencil.. that is what went horribly wrong.... and when you dry emulsion on the screen the screen should be face down ie well up ie same as when you put it on the press and print

    You can use your emulsioned screens within a hour. They will dry quicker if you just put a fan facing them. At our shop we've even used a blow dryer to get them dry really fast when we need them right away. We expose all our screens for 2.5 minutes and hardly ever have blow outs. Usually our blow outs happen with too much water pressure on small detailed areas. Hope that helps a little bit 👌

    • @pierrat1
      @pierrat1 5 лет назад

      Doesn't take a lot of pressure to spray out your image

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  5 лет назад

      Thanks man. I actually figured out the issue was in my exposure unit so it wasn't getting as much UV light as it should. Now my screens are perfect and exposing in the proper time. Otherwise I have a fan and a small heater behind my drying rack to speed it up a little, but I have a drying cabinet on the way so that'll take all the waiting and variables out of it 🙌🏻

    yeah, depending on what stuff you use - the times can go from here to the moon. it is good to have a rough point to start the dial in from - but in the end you have to figuere out what and how it works for you/in your shop. also cue the prodigy firestarter ;)

    Lee, do you use Accurip software by BlackPearl so that you get the darkest opaque ink images on your film positives? I print on 2 film positives for each design. I tape together those 2 prints of film positives so that the ink is darker. I use that double film positive for exposure. I need some advice please.😳

      Ya I have accurip black pearl, but I only use one positive. Make sure you're set to print out of the matte black slot and not the photo black slot, then you shouldn't need 2 positives
