    Hey Lee, wanted some advice. I'm 22 and run a small clothing brand, also print workwear for other people on another little side business that I have. I'm planning on going on a year trip next year to get some travel behind me. I'm a little sceptical at the moment thinking about leaving the printing behind for a while, is it the right choice? Do I stay and work for something at this age or get out and see the world a little bit before I die! I won't give up my work but I'd definitely carry it on once I'm back. Just after your PO

    Hello Sir, Im from the Philippines like the Pacman, Im new to screenprinting and just want to ask about the ideal screen frame size u are using and whats the ideal screen mesh like the difference between 100 mesh with 230 mesh? Which one is for finer detail , which one is ideal for plastisol( what type of plastisol, low bleed?) or which one is for waterbased? Loved your style and brand. Hope you can ship it here in the Philippines:) Salute to you:)

    • @leestuart38

  • @TurboMiniTV
    @TurboMiniTV 4 года назад

    Talk to me - I've been asked if I can do this, the obvious answer is "yes on small-ish boxes" - but I've not yet touched water based inks, how quickly do they dry up in the screen? do you NEED to put them through the drier or will air/sun do the job, ie do they need to "cure" or just dry (I know the drier is a hell of a lot faster though, ive not got one yet due to space)

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  4 года назад

      Waterbased inks do dry up pretty quick so you need to continuously work them, be ready to knock out the whole job in one shot. They will air cure in time but you'll need a lot of floor space to keep the prints from touching anything, it's best to just send them through the dryer or hit them with a flash quick

      I have seen people using a fine water spray as a screen opener with water based so i'll have to give it a try - I suppose the speed depends on temperature and humidity too.

    Ohh I'm so excite to try this! I currently lasercut all of my own boxes from pallet liner (same cardboard box material) and this would make it just that much better.

    Keep it up man. Another great vid and I love the box prints! When I ship shirts off for my gym, I include a little piece of the turf that was put in the club. Those little things make a huge impact.

    Could you show how you would print paper bags for restaurants? Do you need a vacuum platen? Thanks!

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  4 года назад +1

      You could use regular platens, just go easy on the adhesive. You will have to look into food safe inks though

    You should flash dry them as you do it also use all your stations 😎

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  5 лет назад

      There's no need for a flash here because it's only one quick hit, so they go straight to the dryer. Also why I'm only using one station, it's actually faster because there's no flashing needed
