      Hey man, what kind of emulsion are you using? Any coating suggestions? My image might be under exposed if the emulsion peels off, correct? Idk :-/ haven’t had problems before, but I just switched over to clear transparencies.

      Hey wondering if you could help me? I have just used a thin layer of Diazo screen print emulsion and exposed using a 250 Watt lamp for 10 minutes, as instructed. The image was burnt into the screen, however i really struggled when washing my negative out. After 10 minutes of pressurised water; nothing. The lighter green negative was on the screen, but it would just not wash out. I am going to try the process again but leave my screen exposing for longer, maybe an hour. My image is a bitmap photograph, and has lots of tiny dots, maybe this has an effect?

      @dainisvanko8250 2 года назад

      Got the same question, 55lines per inch!? So how do you calculate that? So most thin line?
      So if max is 55lines per 1 inch, so if you have 2mm line, then 55lines divided by 25-(mm in inch ) is 2,2lines per 1m, so if letter of line is 2mm so then 4,4 lines per inch? So 4,4. X 4,5 = 19.8 mash? 🤯🔫 buum fried brain 😂😂 how do you know what number to do with 4,5
      If i have a 2mm letter or 5mm letters 20mm letters? How do you get lines per inch Them?

    It's like you read my mind....i woke up today to start my first print project and i am at the point where i am ready to burn screens.....i have a four color press, 156 screens and used four color separation to make my negatives. Am i on the right track? I have always been an airbrush artist, I've tried vinyl and now i am excited to get into screen printing. I don't have top notch equipment...built an exposure unit with a storage underneath that has a bathroom vent fan to remove humidity and a small space heater...also built my washout booth from a utility sink and corrugated plastic. do you have any advice to offer?

Looks like it all worked out pretty well for you. You do an awesome job explaining the processes....keep doing what you're doing. Whether you know or not it certainly helps encourage a beginner to take the leap and gives the confidence to be able to pull it off knowing that you are getting advice from someone experienced. I'm in a city where there is really no direct competition and i have a big client base from the airbrushing I've done over the years. Hey Cam! I've been the screen burner in a local shop for a little while now, and have a few questions. I seem to still have problems washing out half-tone images on 280/305 mesh screens so any tips on that would be great. I keep finding myself with blowouts when a certain part of my half-tone image hasn't washed out. At my shop, we don't have a pre-soak tank which could help possibly, but I've also heard that lower the exposure time helps as well.
    For my fellow screen burners, I do have one good tip!!!
    When coating higher mesh's for half-tones (like 280/305 mesh), coat the emulsion past the screen, and onto the frame to seal the edge. This helps me because when I am spraying out the image sometimes water will drip down the non-squeegee side and cause parts of the image to melt faster than others.

    hi Cam, how long do you leave the screen out in the sun to post harden it?

      I leave it out long enough for the water to completely evaporate. Usually 5, to 10 min is more than adequate in direct sunlight.

    What is the minimum space I need to start a screen print business from home? What equipment is essential?

    What is in your dip tank that you put the screen in prior to washing out.

    How long do you keep your screens in the water dip tank, to soften emulsion?
