Bro the journey of figuring everything out when it comes to clothing is rough. From experimenting with hand drawing fabric paint, to buy heat presses and vinyl. But all that struggle must have a payoff at some point, and it’s all about the journey of finding the best way to do it. I appreciate you showing all these step by step processes. Currently I have a heat press and am only doing rhinestones with my cameo 4 and vinyl printing. Which is really cool especially the rhinestones but I really want to screen press, the difference between screen and vinyl is huge. Thank you for this man

I love how I saw this Basquiat portrait on fabric a few years ago in some pinterest photo laying around under some books and I was like wow that looks cool I wanna make this myself for my room or print that image on a hoodie maybe.. By that time I didn´t know anything about screen printing but came across it a couple times over the years and always thought I really wanna try it with this image and some of my own designs. Today I decided to actually find out how I can learn it and the first decent video is yours with the exact Basquiat print on the wall in the background. This is definitely the highlight of my day, made really smile :)

Greetings from the Rep. of Trinidad & Tobago...I once did a public speaking course and they pointed out to us, participants that the best speech is the one experienced ...no one but you can tell it better, because you would have lived it!...I think you demonstrated that concept well...lol!...Just to let you know, I thoroughly enjoyed three things in particular: 1. your use of IMPROVISATION, 2. your style of DELIVERY and 3. (the best part) your genuine and encouraging PERSONALITY...wink!...I had the opportunity of doing this printing technique (screen and emulsion) at the university of the West Indies (UWI) a few years aback...and you made it appear so simple...Thank you!

    - you need to lubricate the screen with water first if it is water based ink (spray mist then dry for 10 mins)
    - your t shirt needs to be adhered to the surface using table tac or spray adhesive
    - you need a squeegee that can flood the entire print and pull/push the entire print ( if you use a small one you have streaks of heavy ink load in sections/lines)
    - you need to ad glycerin gel to the ink to stop it from drying if you are doing multiple shirts (1-2% of ink weight)
    good luck

you can also get standard 8.5x11 transparency sheets at office depot (some wal-mart locations have them as well) and you can print on your home printer if it's an inkjet printer. I didn't know that speedball made a light kit - I think that's pretty handy. I've always used a 500 or 800 watt photoflood bulb from a specialty photography supply or light bulb supply shop ( $7 - $15 for a bulb depending on brand and where you get it) and I have a 1000 watt rated lamp that I got a long time ago at Lowe's. I don't think lowes sells anything rated above 300 watts anymore in store but they can still be found online if you look hard enough - be sure to always power it through a surge protector and always have a class B or ABC fire extinguisher on hand (NEVER class A only - Those can make an electrical fire worse)

This is the best DIY video on screen printing I’ve seen. Straight to the point and simply explained. No ranting or using equipment that the average person couldn’t afford. THANK YOU
