- A RIDICULOUS Opening day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach for the 2024 season, our first and quite possibly last time attending opening day after a very long time travelling it's hard to decide if it was REALLY worth it when the park just didn't feel ready.
We'd also like to thank Andy aka (Coaster Crazy) for the guest appearance, it was a pleasure to meet you.

hi very nice vlog! but seriously, whats going on with balckpool? i watched theme park worldwides vlog and it was no better ! there was no excuse for the audio to be broken and for most of the rides to be open since theyve had all winter to do that! it makes me think, where were pleasure beach during winter? on holiday? im getting worried that what is one of the uks best theme parks is suddenly going downhill at the moment! but none the less thanks for the vlog.
Thanks for watching! We couldn't agree more, yesterday was a shambles. Every park will have teething problems on the first few days but yesterday took the biscuit. Blackpool is certainly in a weird phase right now that hopefully it will come out of! We should be going back down in a few weeks , so feel free to subscribe for more Pleasure Beach content!

Thanks again for watching Michael! Everyone that was at the park yesterday received an email giving them a free pass to come back today due to the bad weather. That obviously was no use to us as we had to head back to Scotland! They have however honoured it for another day. Feel free to subscribe if you enjoy the content 😁
Hi guys really enjoyed your vlog. I went to the pleasure beach two years ago. Six of us at £35 a head. Was there the full day and got on six rides. The queues were horrendous as it was mid july. However what angered me was that the pleasure beach also sell speedy passes on top of your original wrist band so obviously the more you spend the more you can ride. I bought one for the pepsi max at a cost of £9. I activated it and had 2 mins to get to priority area. I didnt know where to go and couldn't get through the crowd. Asked one assistant for help and was not very helpful. Ended up losing my £9. Coming back in September this year and after watching your vlog i will not be attending the pleasure beach. Been going since i was 4 now nearly 43. Amanda Thompson and co have taken a family friendly theme park and turned it into a capitalist play thing. Even rebranding the pleasure beach. I feel sorry for you guys travelling all the way to blackpool and paying in good faith to enjoy the pleasure beach and most rides either closed or not working properly. Therefore queues for other rides is alot longer. Even though you have been offered a alternative day you will still have travelling costs . Shame on the Thompson family and good luck to you both with your new channel😊
Thanks for the best wishes Chris we really appreciate you taking the time to comment and watch the Vlog! That's not good however to hear about the loss of your speedy pass! They do tend to put the speedy pass entrances in some weird places that's for sure! We usually love the pleasure beach but opening day was definitely a bad one. That shouldn't put you off going however! We spent many days last year at the park and had fantastic days! Gotta make the most of a bad situation haha, but yeah unsure of the way the park is headed right now but hopefully it's in the right direction. Blackpool Pleasure Beach worked at a loss last year, unfortunately changing its name to Resort wont fix it.
Building a new exciting ride ,such as a big sister to the ghost train.

Yeah we are unsure what there plan is with their future identity , we will go along for the ride regardless! Just a shame it went so badly!

How much did they lose last year ?
I agree changing the name won't change anything, they need to go back to non Rider pass to get more people into the park more people more money , they will buy food, drink and merch , also more late night opening, these are the things that should be happening not a silly name change removing Blackpool from the name , they need to remember it's people going on holiday to Blackpool that pay to go into the Pleasure Beach they are not going on holiday to Preston or Lytham , the board at Blackpool Pleasure Beach are hopeless
Yeah the non rider pass even if it were £5 would bring so much more traction as ultimately those people would still buy food, merch etc! We have noticed this season the pizza kitchen is now £17.95 9 months ago it was £13.95! The same with their hotels. The price rise recently is unreal. They're out pricing themselves majorly and losing buisness by doing so. Thanks for watching the vlog!
@@ForrestThrills Sad to hear about the price increase they need to remember there is a cost of living crisis, Blackpool Pleasure Beach fans want the park to do well and succeed but the management and board are just making bad decisions and the park is losing money , I hope things get better but they need to listen to the people . 👍

Unfortunately not no! I saw it's now sold out so can only imagine how busy it'll be! We will be popping down soon however as well as a trip to Thorpe on the books too! 👀

I only live an hour away from Blackpool you got to travel a long way and bet you both were shocked to see the rides were not running and It was raining hard and I went last Sunday it was raining when I got there a little girl was leaving the park as I was coming very shocking
Definitely wasn't the best day we've had in the park but glad it improved by the end, hoping to see some new rides soon or the older ones repaired lol, thanks for commenting and we hope you enjoyed the video! 😊
Surely they should be issuing refunds for a walk round a metal scrapyard in the rain

I came down from Scotland ( Falkirk ) last summer. Did around 28 rides in about 7 hrs. Was a amazing day. Sad yours was so bad.

We got the train down and back day return to preston for £48 and it was £10 return to pleasure beach station and back so down and back in a day for £58! A fair bit of travel but worth it we would say!
You should have stopped in a hotel and reviewed that

Are they running the park down for closure?
Not running it down for closure, this was the first day of the 24' season but there is definitely plenty of room for some much needed improvement! ☺️
they should have waited like 2 or 3 weeks until they fixed their rides. it's just silly.
It definitely didn't feel ready that's for sure! We have seen that the Sunday was a vast improvement however still not 100% so definitely maybe a week or 2 later would've been in their benefit! Thanks for watching the vlog and feel free to subscribe for more content like this! 😁
I heard a few things were closed on open day not good.

First day opening and problems?
This was the first day of the 2024 season, they seem to have operations back in order now despite a few rides needing repairs, feel free to subscribe for more content!
I been riding those rides since early 60 s..The place isn't what it was.
