As a teacher - I won't say that there aren't any negative teachers, but not wanting the kids to giggle is less about hating enjoyment and more about needing them to listen and work. There's a time for play and giggle and a time for work. The teacher usually has a plan to stick to and kids "goofing around" in class means you won't get through with it. It's going to be the teacher who'll be in trouble for not meeting the goals. (May depend on where you live, but I think that's the case on most places.)
If you're old enough for school, you're old enough to sit still and work for an hour before you play and giggle again.

And the only reason for all of this is because parents seriously underestimate kids and how they know they're being sized up. No matter how young they are, they're still human. And immaturity doesn't equal unintelligent. If only adults could understand, which I find it weird that they can't, considering they were kids once too.

Unicorn Angela - why can't you? I think they real,y need to see this,,because that stuff they're saying would have to be one of the most damaging things to say to a kid. They need to stop and realise the massive damage they are doing.
They speak like you don't have emotions...but you do.
They have no right to compare you to anyone.
      They have to stop.
      It's abuse.

Unicorn Angela - Comparison of beauty?! What do your parents want you for?! Physical beauty is only skin deep, a pretty girl could be a downright abomination that doesn't deserve to be called 'human' under the surface! It's what's inside that counts! And intelligence is one thing, wisdom is another, and you sound pretty wise to me. There is always a kids helpline/teens helpline, and if there is a will, there is a way, and if this gets out of hand, I'll bet you anything you can find a way to make them pay, one way or another because what you give is what you get, and they'll get taught a lesson they'll never forget, by whatever means necessary, karma or not. Rest assured, if all else fails, you can talk to me.

This can be dangerous advice. Sadly , that turns into " Oh, it's all MY fault that you are..blah, instead of * bluck"
Kids should have a neutral ground to discuss things with parents but many do not. Just saying, this assumes the kid is in a best case scenario.

I relate to this video so much it's sad... my parents are always comparing me to others and they hate it when I don't tell them all of my secrets. I'm terrified to ask for any help for fear of punishment, I hate doing anything new because if I make a mistake I fear they will punish me. Ever since I was in 1st grade I've been told by my teachers and parents that I should stop crying because I'm to old for that or it's just an over reaction (it's hard to control it now that I have depression). I'm now 14 (15 in November) and this has been happening my whole life, I'm just now old enough to understand it...... I just hate my life right now because I can't trust anyone anymore.... I'm a senior now and I go through a lot of stress. My mom never finished highschool and she gets on my nerves that she knows everything. She doesn't, she'll never understand the stress I have to go through because she never finished the 10th grade. I can never tell them my opinions because I know they'll judge me. It hard and I don't want that for my kids. I don't want them to have the same problem I had with my parents.

I've been saying to myself "when will I be good enough for my mom?"
Leave a like to make me happy......

      DRAGONLILY 303
Let's be real, you'll probably never be good enough for your mom. But that doesn't mean you aren't great. Your mother was probably told she wasn't good enough as a child and carried that into adulthood.
It might sound hard, but what might help is to make your mother feel great. Tell her how great she is at what she does. Like if she cooks a delicious meal for dinner, tell her how amazing it is. If she looks pretty after looking like she put in a lot of effort, tell her that she's very pretty. If you ever see her doing anything that seems like she's good at, or tries really hard to do, tell her how good she it's at it and how talented she is.
Knowing what I know now, we are all basically children, the only thing that separates us is knowledge and experience. But a hurt child becomes a hurt adult and that hurt adult reflects their pain onto their children because it's the only way they know how to raise a child because it's the only example they were given.
But just know that your mother loves you and she's saying what she's saying out of love.

This is what my strict parents mostly say/do.( pros and cons)
    CONS~
    1. They watch everything single move I do
    2. They pressure me to do well in school
    3. They think I'm tough and can handle things all by myself( I'm sensitive so I have problems dealing with certain things.)
    4. They make me feel like I'm the problem in a subject. example: Let's say I got an F. Parents: Skylar! We expect you to get good grades and you do that but this is unacceptable.
Me(on the outside): I'm sorry it will never happen again.
Me(on the inside): Why do you make me feel like a huge failure and disappointment.
    5. The common phrase they use " Don't trust adults/strangers!" makes me feel as if I can't receive help from a stranger if I'm hurt in a public place and I can't tell anyone to help me out.
    6. When I state my own opinion they think I'm sassing them back, it feels as if I can't say my own opinion as I think it'll come out "rude".
7.When I cry they tell me to stop crying, which made me the person who hides their feelings.( I really don't even smile)
    8. They are really nosy. example: If I'm being quiet they ask me this " Are you okay."
I know that they seem to be concerned with me but they say this way too much as if I'm depressed.
    PROS~
    1. They believe I can accomplish my dreams. example: I want to be a ballerina( I actually do) they support me for that and see no problem with it.
    2. Their humor is really corny but it still makes my day better.
    3. They're always there for me.
    4. They are proud of my accomplishments.
I have 2 other siblings who get it way worse than I do which is even sadder but, over the time you'll learn to forgive them(if they change for the better)
THANK YOU FOR READING THIS! I poured all of my emotions for people to see so hopefully someone can relate to me.

Really? Am I the only one who has parents who would just punish and take the things I like away from me because like they say: "If you want respect you have to earn it, look at all of your friends! Don't you see how they obey to their parents? Why do you have to be the worst of your whole class?"
Like yeah, sure, I play a lot of sports (even tho I don't like them), I get really good grades, I'm basically the best kid in math, english and art in the whole school (I'm not kidding, they gave me two medals for this) and it's still not enough. I have to be the best in everything just because my parents don't understand that even tho I'm still 12 I have a social life. I have friends and people I care about, but no, WHO CARES ABOUT THEM, let's just study and play horrible sports for the whole day until I get so frustrated I want to commit suicide! Yeah! Best life EVER!

Suicide... I couldn't have said it better. I'm an adult but as a kid, specifically your age, I was very depressed. My parents were treating me like I was a dumbfuck. I needed my independence. In my entire life, I have attempted suicide only once, but they never found out. No one did. They were out shopping and I had enough time to get rid of the blood and make it stop bleeding. I even put a bandaid on it so they would think I cut myself accidentally. That scar is long gone now, but the scar in my heart is not healing. They damaged it throughout my teenage years, and made the scar in my heart grow. When they grounded me, they used such words such as, "Shut up or I will show you what hurts." They were relentless. They had no concern on my feelings or my opinions, to the point if I told them my opinion on something, they would start raving and ranting. I had no defense. I was feeling abandoned. They started not trusting me, so when I said something, they thought I was lying, so they punished me instead of my brother. That started making me suicidal. I hadn't talked to them in years now. They left me for dead when I was going to college. They wanted me out. Now, I'm a senior in college doing more years for better job opportunities, around the world, or the country. They still haven't contacted me in a long time. They must have really wanted me out of their place. At least now I'm getting my independence, but it's too late. My childhood is nothing but a blank page. Would they cry if I died? That's the real question. I may never know. Thank you for your time reading all this. It contains a lot of my true thoughts. Elsewhere, I may seem happy and calm, but I am not. That is just my shield. I didn't bring it with me to type all this. Peace.

A kid that has a speech/language problem, telling them to, "Use your words!" Is so harmful. Both me and my little brother has speech impediments, thankfully I stepped in and helped my brother before my parents could do harm like they did with me 😔
If your kid has trouble speaking, sound out the word for them. Get down to their level. If they've already started taking speech lessons, have them focus on your mouth and the parent say the word slowly.
Telling them to use their words, they don't know how. And it's incredibly frustrating to be told to more or less speak right when you can't xc

Because of those… I had depression when I was 12 for a very long time and was even suicidal, though, I'm still alive. They tell me how they were so "goody good" when they were the same age as me.
