I never had a bad childhood but i just missed out on certain things. My parents stopped doing fun things with our family when i turned 8, and i don't even remember anything anymore that happened when i was 8. If any parent is reading this, even if your kid is being stubborn or annoying never forget to also do fun things.
Also, i think parents should stop using "When i was younger.." because things changed, the world isn't the same anymore. If your kid is sad and stressed, don't say "When i was younger we just had to deal with it" but show love and care.
Like i said, i didn't have the worst childhood and I'm very blessed, however i definitely didn't have a fun childhood. Spend time with your kids, show them love and happiness

helena sousa Its not always a bad thing, but i do feel like people tend to forget the world changed alot.. Comparing kids to other people is very painful to most kids. Saying "When i was younger.." makes me feel like they're comparing me to their younger self, and it doesn't make me feel good enough
I think that everyone can learn, even adults 😊

As a teen myself, I completely agree with the last one. Whenever my parents ask me who is my crush, I simply don't give an answer; it feels awkward and stressful. I will never tell my parents who she is because we all know that if I bump into her in public and my parents are present, they're gonna say something. They'll just have to find out when I tell them that we're dating, if everything goes right, that is.

One time my grandma asked for 10 dollars since I saved like 90 dollars, and my mom was like "No!" and then they started having a little argument. But, I didn't mind giving my grandma money because I know she would pay me back. But, I understand why my mom would say no. This is the reason why I never let my parents or grandma count my money. This is a parenting mistake parents do
Mom: you are starting lessons on how to play the guitar tomorrow
Kid:but mom I like to draw
Mom:no buts mom knows best for you
    1 year later
    Kid:mom I'm back from lessons
    Mom you're home early
Kid:I got kicked out of lessons
    Mom:are you serious right now
Kid:yes I was falling "too behind" the teacher got frustrated and kicked me out
    Mom: goes to lessons
    Teacher:hi
Mom:why did you kick my kid out
Teacher:because he was struggling too much
    Mom: you could've helped him
Teacher I tried he was still struggling
Like if you made this mistake or witnessed it

I abseloutly think this advice was extremely helpful. One recommendation to add on to your video was to consider this... Maybe let your child live a respected independent life but not to a point to were the parent does not understand the wants, and passions of the child, and they will definitely cooperate, and respect the parent

  • @lilmadlassinc1797

Regarding personal things, don’t ever read a teenager’s diary/texts without permission. Only get involved if they’re involved in something deeply concerning you, and even then, only read the things they show you. Diaries are places teens can truly express themselves without fear of being disciplined, so please respect their boundaries. What you can say instead is “you can write/draw whatever you want in this diary and nobody will discipline you for being yourself, but if there is something that I feel is genuinely distressing you, I may need to see some things. It’s not to disrespect you as a person, but it’s just to make sure you’re ok.” If, for example, your teen is being forced to do something that they shouldn’t, such as taking drugs or drinking underage, tell them about the dangers and instead of getting angry, let them experience the consequences of their actions and just remind them not to do it again. If self harm is involved, do NOT get angry: your son/daughter has a lot of negative things going on but don’t feel comfortable enough to tell you. If they keep a diary, ask if they want to tell you what is going on and if they don’t feel comfortable telling you, ask instead “do you have anything in your diary that you think might help me to help you?”. I understand that some teenagers will find this a very difficult thing to do, letting their parents into their personal territory, but for this to work, you and your teenage children need to have a very strong bond and trust each other immensely: remember too that teenagers are going through puberty and have a lot of hormones and changes going on in their bodies and heads, so something that may be minor to you might be a teens’ worst nightmare. Remember that you were once a teen yourself, so sometimes remembering your experiences and how you solved problems you had at that point in your life might help find solutions to help your teenage children. I don’t have children myself but I am an aunt and this is the sort of thing that I would tell my nephews and nieces when they get to the teen years.

I mean how are you gonna know if you don’t look. The better thing to do is to not sneak it. If they know this is a rule in the house that you must know what is being said then that’s fine. My friend does random phone checks but her daughter has agreed to that ever since she got a phone.

I’m sending this to my mom and dad! They need to learn to give their children space! I mean, we’re not idiots, we know the difference between want and need, good and bad. I mean, if we’re spending money on drugs or achahol (I think that’s how you spell it) when we’re not old enough, you can put a stop to it. But if we want to buy a harmless toy for fun, we have every right to get it when we’re spending our own money. And never ever check your child’s texts because you may find some personal stuff about them that they weren’t ready to tell you yet. Like, maybe they have a boyfriend, but it’s not serious enough for them to introduce their new boyfriend to you yet. If you do this, your child may lose their trust in you because they don’t know if you’re going to go snooping through their personal things again. In conclusion, respect your child as their own individual.
As a teenager I can relate to this

Bro i believe the only reason parents should snoop if its something not okay like sexting, drugs, even gangs. I mean i am a teenager but parents can and should be cautious for SERIOUS events. Sometimes parents overthink it and get annoying, like relationships and friends really shouldn't be a problem.

Who wants to hear a story?
    Once opon a time,
When I was a little kid, my mom was my best friend.
My ONLY friend in fact, apart from a spoilt, slightly bratty kid called Safire.
Well, my mother neglected to inform me that I had to one day make FRIENDS with new people.
And it did not help in the slightest that I was as shy as can be.
So, on my first day of Preschool, I was still trying to work out a way to get out of it, and also how to become less shy and/or make friends.
Eventually I made a Friend, she ended up betraying me, leading to bulling, sadness, tears, depression and suicidal thoughts for about 5 years.
    Boo.
So there you go, people out there!
If your a parent, or are going to be one,
    🅳🅾 🅽🅾🆃 🅶🅾 🅳🅾🆆🅽 🆃🅷🅸🆂 🅿🅰🆃🅷.

I seem to strongly agree with these tips that you uploaded on RUclips, because it’s not easy to not make too many mistakes when you’re a 🧒🏻 . Parents say, “Don’t talk to strangers”. This is a serious business, because children shouldn't do that when they're present without mom or dad's supervision.

My daughter and I are very good friends and she knows that I snoop through her things sometimes! Yes, I do want to know who all of her friends are. I do monitor her money as well! It's called being a good responsible parent. Kids will lie to their parents no matter what! Even if they have good parents. Asking questions does not change make them push away. It's all in HOW you do it! I'm the authority in my home and my daughter knows that she is loved. We have a great relationship and she does not have emotional issues because I am an attentive hands on parent.

  • @roksolida36

This is coming from a 14 year old girl, freshman in high school.
You will ruin your kids’ lives if you intrude on their own personal lives. This made me distrust my mother, and now I have such a sucky relationship with her I WANT to move out. Don’t make your teens want to move out, okay parents? Going through their phone when you take it is the worst thing you can do as a parent. Also, yelling and hitting just makes them distrust you further. Don’t yell at them for telling you that some rule is unfair, it’s just their opinion. This is the best way to make them suppress their opinions and not want to tell you things. Just from experience, don’t give them an “I don’t believe you” or “someone’s influencing this” thing when and/or if your kid comes out of the closet to you. It hurts. A lot.

The one thing I found too much relatable myself was that the parents should not interfere in a child’s (especially a teen’s) personal space. If u are a parent make sure u give full freedom to your kids and try not to read their messages aur check their phones because it does nothing other than making them feel insecure and offended.

Mum use to do everything for me, not letting me try... once when I was a child I was making a sandwich for school and she snatched the knife and said oh let me do it. So I said how will I learn if you don’t let me try? She use to keep me in my shell and didn’t understand why I use to lash out so often. She hates the fact I’m married now and moved away. 😩
    .
I like the same music mum does but that’s my choice. A few songs I like she doesn’t.
    .
I taught myself to be financially stable.
    .
But my mother chose my gifts usually I’d hint at what I want. Sometimes I’d get it other times I didn’t.
    .
My mother never let me have my own space she always wanted to know who I was talking to and what I was saying. :/ sometimes I’d just say you don’t wanna know.

I don't know if anyone is ever going to read this but I want to get this off my chest.
I love my mom I really do. When I was a child I was kinda shy so when I was asked a question by an adult my mum used to answer for me and believe me I was okay with that . When I started to grow I realized she still answered in behalf of me and I felt awkward and embarrassed as the person was actually asking me the question. I felt ashamed and tried to confront her and broke into tears every time. I am a teenager and unfortunately she still does it unknowingly. We had a big fight about it and she said her mother did the same to her and she turned out fine. The dilemma now is that the same people who used to ask me questions now ask my mother instead and that breaks my heart. And even when they ask me directly I feel conscious when answering. She understands when I tell her this but again tries to do it anyways, so now I am gonna send this video to her and hope she sees I am not really oversensitive and this really affects a person's self esteem.
Never thought I will write such a long comment but it feels good to put it out there.

I just want to tell them like "dang you're kid is 12 years old ma'am he can order himself, I've seen 4 year olds ordering themselves, and I'm pretty sure your kid has been able to eat himself without you helping him since he was 3. If you won't even let your kid pick and eat his own food then how is he suppose to go out into the real world and make his own decisions?"

I have a very independent 4 yr old boy, who can speak very clearly for himself. He knows what he wants and goes for it. He orders his own meals when we are out, I honestly couldn't imagine doing everything for my little man... It's hard to cut the apron strings but so good once done lol. I agree, when I see a parent still tieing shoelaces for an 8-year-old, and then goes velcro so they don't need to, it really tweaks my melon! ow is a child supposed to cope once they leave home LOL

Yeah I told my mom that and she was like what about a week ago when I didn't order for you and I was just like that's because I spoke so fast you couldn't speak for me

    Barbie is the best
    Barbie inspires.
She has various careers which inspires to be something.
    She inspired me too.
She and you can be anything.
If you see Barbie's perfection then it is incorrect She teaches that no one is perfect not even She.
    Parents should be your idol(same)
But if something inspires you, go for it!
    Toys developes learning!
Bright side gave the most loveliest example, Barbie
I recently got a note from her-
You are strong, independent and will go far.
Not saying Barbie is the only toys which inspires, but Barbie is the best not only for girls for everyone!
Now getting out of the topic let us all girls do a thumps up for girl power!
