Like every South Indian, do you also love the tangy, spicy and mouth-watering temple style Tamarind rice? It is called with various names like Pulihoraa, Puliyodarai, Puliyogare depending on the state. What remains common is the method of preparation and the feeling of just never having enough. So, we at Recipe Checkr want to ensure you can make this dish with our simple and easy recipe at your home and not have to wait for your temple visits.
Get the following ingredients for the ground masala:
Red Chilli - 5 nos
Bengal Gram Dal - 2 tablespoons
Urad Dal - 1 tablespoon
Coriander Seeds - 2 tablespoons
Peppercorns - 2 nos
White Sesame - 1 tablespoon
Curry Leaves - 2 strings
Asafoetida - 2 pinches
Fenugreek - 1/2 teaspoon
Puliyodharai
Mustard - 1/2 teaspoon
Round Red Chillis - 4 nos
Urad Dal - 1/2 teaspoon
Bengal Gram - 1 tablespoon
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Asafoetida - 2 pinches
Curry Leaves - 2 strings
Peanuts - 2 tablespoons
Chilli Powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Jaggery for taste
Tamarind for pulp
Gingelly oil

Sir, I tried your Puliyodharai and the results were yummylicious.... I couldn't get the g;laze alone ... oil sediments and at the bottom its is very oily ... Can you plz help with that

What type of rice used
Your english is fluent

Namasthe sunder we don't put coriander seeds in puliyodarai. We put xsesame seeds dry roast and powder iit add

Why is raw oil added at the end?
For flavour and consistency we add gingilly oil at the end to finish the dish.
