- I've been really excited to listen to these guys. I've known about Rammstein now for a few months but I have stayed away from listening to their music until now. I don't know why it has taken so long for me to react to them but its finally here!
Here is my reaction to hearing Rammstein - Du Hast for the first time! I hope you enjoy it!

I'm sure others have mentioned it, but when you stop and think about it, it's crazy that Paris citizens fill up a large venue to come experience a German band play live music. We're basically only a generation removed from WW2. Good music brings people together man.

This is industrial metal.
Very electronic and dancy.
This is also one of the few bands I’d recommend their music videos, rather than just the album version.
They have about 5 or 6 MUST hear songs that will absolutely floor you.

Just wanted to add... I love Till (singer) shouting "Chantes" to a French audience for them to sing back to him in German. It says something about their popularity when they can get a stadium full of French fans to do that.
Then you have to watch the concert in Nimes. They performed there on three evenings.😂
They have (literally) the biggest show on earth in their concerts. Lights, fire, pyrotechnics, everything you can imagine.
And the stage is huuuuge!
There are few bands that can beat their stage shows.

That's why you should always do the studio version first, to hear the song like it's supposed to sound, then check out other/live ones.
The singer Til Lindeman, is a licensed pyro-engineer. IIRC they had a mishap once on stage where a fire spout when off in Til's face back when they were out-sourcing their pyro to a third party and Til took it upon himself to get certified and do all the pyro for the band. Which is why they have crazy pyro contraptions at shows because he makes all the stuff himself. Also, what Til was doing with his hand and leg is called "the hammer". He has had knee surgery a couple of times and one time while on stage he started smacking a troublesome implant back into place. The band thought it looked pretty cool since he can't maintain his balance very well while headbanging, so it became his signature move. Til is The Man.

When you are at a RAMMSTEIN Concert in a Stadion and you listen DU HAST and 70.000+ people shout DU HAST! DU HAST MICH...one of the awesome moments.
The singer is a professional pyrotechnic. Their stage shows always have lots of fire and explosions.
Saw them live in New York over 20 years ago.
They've all since got their pyrotechnics license I believe.
Seen Rammstein 7 times and they just get bigger and better. Defo check out some of their music videos they are insaaaaaane. They are also a band not scared to take the piss out of themselves.

You can't go wrong with Rammstein - I'm English and don't speak a word of German so don't let that put you off! They very quickly became my favourite band just after hearing Deutschland and Auslander on spotify. Certified pyrotechs, wacky live antics, elite lyricism, musical brilliance - the list goes on! Hope you do more of these guys!!!

This is a band everyone should see at least one time live in its life.
Probably the best live band shows in the world, with a lot of fire and pyro. Fun, dark, crazy, provocation. That's what you can wait, the official videos are also awesome, crazy production, sometimes you will have to watch both versions. I suggest for the next, if you want: "Engel: live from madison square garden", "Sonne: live or official video", well... there are really a lot to watch. You can check the Bucksttabu youtube channel where you will have subtitles too.
You're right, it's a german band and the good way to pronounce it, the best is for you to check the song "Rammstein" or "Rammlied" where the name is pronouced multiple times in the song.
To help you it's something like: "Ram (with a rolling "R") - sh (like in the word shut) - tie - n", not "rams-teen" like a lot of english talking people often say.
Watching that smile appear on your face when the brilliance started sinking in was gold.
Till, the singer, is also a fully trained, professional pyrotechnician, and he rigs all of the stage fire effects and flash pots himself...🤘🤘🤘
"It's gonna be really heavy.....ooh run back that keyboard" Maaaaate you're gonna love industrial. These guys are arguably industrial as is or a very light version of it. Demolisher by Slaughter to Prevail isn't industrial, they're deathcore, but you still gotta do it.

I literally cry tears of anguish often when I watch clips or listen to songs of theirs due to the fact I only met them TWO YEARS AGO.

I don't know how true it is, but I once heard that they use a special chemical for their pyrotechnics. Since the band is so close to the flames, they use a chemical that burns bright but produces less heat than other pyrotechnics.
According to the story you can only get this chemical from one source. And Rammstein uses so much of it that it makes up 70% of that company's sales.

The most important one, is Kraftwerk. They are seen as the inventors of Elctro Pop. And that's Germany's biggest contribution to pop music in the second half of the 20th century...

Rammstein has a pretty much flawless career. Been going strong for 30 years with the same members, and all of their albums are bangers. They also have the craziest live shows on the planet

Hello from Canada! I'm new to your channel and so far I'm enjoying your reactions, esp6to Rush. Now, Rammstein. they've been around since 1994 and they are without a doubt one of the most exciting band to attend their concert. I've had that pleasure and it's always fantastic. These guys are also licensed pyrotechnicians and that's why there's so much fire and explosions in their shows. No one does it better than them. You'll have fun going down their rabbit hole for sure. If you can, try to watch the live version of their songs but, their videos are also very good. They're my favorite German band for sure. Their style is actually Industrial Metal but really, it doesn't matter. It's good music and I like it. Thanks 👍

This is industrial metal....The keyboardist complain about being bored and stiff on stage, so the gave him a treadmill🤣🤣🤣. Till does all the pyro for their live shows and they are BRILLIANT live. You absolutely must check out most of their songs but when you get to Deutschland...get ready for a breathtaking video. The video is a small movie and tells of the greatness of Germany as well as its shames like the holocaust....That song and vid is A MUST SEE,HEAR. Keep up the great work bruv, its always good see younger generations find this music us old heads revere sooo much. Music is life, it is the great connection between all because through music we can bridge differences because we all relate. Music hits you heart as well and mind and can broaden ur mind to see through the eyes of someone else and their pains becomes your and vice versa

My son's fav band, had gotten him graduation tickets in 2020, but got to see them in Aug. 2023 in Philly. It's not just the stage that's lit up but the whole field ( Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia). You must see from an outside venue on RUclips to appreciate the whole show. We go as a family to concerts instead of vacations, so everyone enjoys the show together. I hope he enjoys his hippie parents😊😂😮

I had my hair and eyebrows singed off by the flamethrower attached to a guitar against the fence at a Rammstein show in a smaller venue. Guess I was a little too tall! Absolutely epic. Glad you go to them.

I want this dvd 📀, I tried getting it, but I didn't find out about it UNTIL LAST YEAR, apparently this performance was recorded for a retail MARKET, dvd. The production is just a little more than usual. They are great showman and live performers

I'm a massive death metal fan, it was very complicated to understand for my parents 😂 They were convinced metal was "noise", especially my mother... Rammstein surprised her a lot, she actually enjoys the songs. Had some shameful times as a teenager with her singing Rammstein songs while grocery shopping 😂
You should definitely check more songs, it's a nice way to discover metal. Korn is pretty good pick to start as well, "A different world"!
Next from Rammstein: Deutschland. And absolutely the official music video. It's stunning, like a movie quality content. Very controversial and visually strong way to tell about German history. Getting english subtitles might help a bit to understand the meaning. And of course the music is excellent Rammstein style.

One of the biggest heavy metal band great live performances in history
not just the crowd control that Til has, but knowing they are able to get french citizens in paris to sing IN GERMAN.
Fun fact: Til had extreme stage fright and used the pyro to take a lot of the attention off of him so that he could perform. This is the reason why they tend to have so much pyro in their shows. Their shows are rated 1 of, if not the greatest show on earth that even if you dont like the music, you need to go see just to experience it.
Til was also training to be an olympic swimmer. prior to Rammstein I believe.

A French crowd singing along to a German band. After what occurred during the 2nd World War, that in itself is amazing! I love them, thanks to my then teenage son playing them loud at home and I have them so loud in the car that my windows rattle. Would love to see them live here In Australia. So many great songs for you to discover,their music videos are epic and so are their live shows.
How is that amazing? The second world war happened 80 years ago, and ended when Germany was liberated from the Fascist regime that had control over it. In the intervening years, France and Germany have been close allies and trading partners. Along with virtually every other European nation.
That unity just goes to show the division the media claims, is more the politicians creating it so their respective governments can keep their constituents occupied with bullsh t, while they launder BILLIONS of taxpayers money.
I saw them in 1999 on the Family Values tour along with KORN and Limp Bizkit and Rammstein was pretty bad ass

I wouldn't say this is the best their song but it is a great song to engage the crowd. This is a great band, great musicians and great people, just go on. I think you might want to listen to their Engel, Mein hertz brennt (all the versions), Rammstein (the song) and a lot more.

Saw them live a couple of years ago at metlife stadium. It was a killer show, definitely a lot of pyrotechinics and the keyboardist was on the treadmill - he is an interesting character.

I highly recommend "Engel" (Angel) also from this amazing show in Paris. The whistling is almost haunting & the pyrotechnics come out of the angels wings, as worn by the singer. Fueur frei & Mein Teil again from Paris are great too.
1:48 hehe. My friends and I were introduced to Rammstein during our 8th grade year. Why? Well, their name was all over the news after Columbine (Klebold and Harris listened to industrial music and I believe Harris was the one they’d always show wearing a Rammstein t-shirt.) Anyhow, unlike our classmates, we didn’t go “Oh no! Burn in hell, Rammstein!” We actually just went on Napster or LimeWire haha and downloaded some stuff and wound up loving it (note: we were just curious. We weren’t trying to be LIKE them lol. In fact, we were confused as to why the media made such a big deal out of the music.)
Maybe it was because, being multilingual and German being one of the languages I speak ‘well enough’ …it helped. What everyone was just assuming was “you hate”, ‘ovviously; wasn’t since the lyrics (official) read “du hast” (you have) and NOT “du haßt” (you hate). Yes, I know, this was also a play on words seeing as they’re homophones and you’d only be able to tell the difference if you had the text (or more context than the lyrics provide.) Ah well, I have the media to thank for my years of going to dance at Industrial/Goth nights in different clubs (I like variety, would also go to regular clubs etc haha. XD)

The vast majority of Rammstein songs don't require subtitles. HOWEVER...3 brilliant exceptions are Ich Will live (Hurricane Festival 2016), to fully understand the crowd participation...Zeit, to understand the emotional aspect to the song...and Dicke Titten, cos it's just so damn funny!
