I'm almost 60 years old, and I've been a metalhead for 45 years. And I have to admit that it's nice to see the new generations approaching and loving the Heavy Metal music!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
*James wrote this for a someone back in the 90's, but when they actually decided to record it, he was way over it. So they recorded it as a "love song" to their fans. People have asked what makes Metallica as a band different from others. One being that they've been together for 42 years last month, are still touring, and still putting out albums. Two of the original members are still there. Kirk Hammett has been with band for 40 of those 42 years, and Robert Trujillo (bassist) being the newest has been with Metallica for 20 years. Metallica is the first band ever to play on all 7 Continents. They've won nine Grammy Awards. Elton John covered 'Nothing Else Matters' while saying it was one of the best songs ever written and that Metallica was one of the greatest bands of all time. That kind of acknowledgement from someone like Elton John is one of the biggest compliments anyone could get. (You should react to that from the Howard Stern show). Metallica has played with the San Francisco Symphony, played at San Quentin prison, and played the soundtrack for Mission Impossible 2 after Tom Cruise gave them a private screening of the movie, persuading them to do it. You can listen to a Metallica song and want to jump in a mosh pit, and the next song you can rock your baby to sleep. They just kick ass.. they're Metallica!* 🤘🤘🤘
Except Kirk's been there since 81' Mustaine was only in the band 9 months, when they went to record Killem All he was gone Kirk was there that was 81' NY. But your right, they're the GOATS of Metal, and my all time favorite. I'm 59 yrs and I've seen them since Los Angeles 1980! Crazy!! They still have it and sound better now! Seen them August at SOFI Stadium, Excellent and they delivered as always! Legends! Period!🤘❤️🔥
@@Metal_Mary Dave was kicked out in 1983.. the same year Kirk joined. Kill Em' All was recorded in May of 1983 and was released in July of 1983. Are you sure you didn't see them when they were playing clubs pre kill em' all? Their playlist would've been most of the same. You are 100% right about them and their concerts! They give their all and put on such a great show! And Mustaine.. well, I like Megadeth, I really do but I think Dave gets (or wants) way too much credit for his time with Metallica. He wasn't even with them for a full year. Now all the Dave fans are gonna come after me 🤘🤘🤗
Us old metalheads may find the song “overplayed” but at the same time we must acknowledge that this song is a Masterpiece that together with Sandman and The Unforgiven persuaded the massive crowds of mainstream listeners to embrace Metallica sending these guys to the absolute summit of all Music….and they still reign that summit 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘. To my knowledge The Black Album from 1991 is still today the most sold album in the US…tells you everything about mainstream listeners embracing Metallica
Mine as well. The bass intro to it... It always makes me feel cozy but without losing the perspective of the whole world waiting outside at the same time.
YESSS! Live version 2019!! Excellent song, James kills it on the solo too! ❤️🔥 That's one of my favorite songs on the black album!! It's heavy on the bass kinda like Sad but true. But it's got alot of bad ass solos from the boys!

I feel bad for kids who grew up with Just mainly rap, what you feel with songs like this is depth and sincerity, which a lot of rap music lacks. Music has been a major part of my life since birth, music of many styles. It's how I cope with pain, it can create a strong connection between you and someone you haven't ever met in sharing feelings that shape you, it's the language I speak when my own words fail. @@MollyBoyTV Can you react to Silverchair song called Tomorrow (the official music video, you can either the American Version and or the Australian Version, they're both official music videos).
Bro! The rabbit hole deepens!! So far you’ve listened to mostly songs off their first 3 albums, which is the thrashy heavy stuff. This album, ‘the black album’ was their 5th album and it catapulted them to biggest heavy metal band in the world. Now you can hear the many different faces of Metallica. They have so much variety in their music. This album, as well as load and reload, they really explore song new sounds and there are some absolute gems on them. Love your Metallica journey so far, but you’re still at the tip of the iceberg. And I envy you for that. Getting that, holy shit they can do this feeling for the first time is just amazing
I guess I have to point out that Metallica was already by far the biggest heavy metal band in the world before this album came out. Bob Rock helped them commercialize the brand which is why it was their last album I purchased. I can still taste that gagging sadness that happened to my 18yo self when I first heard this one. "....couldn't be much more from the heart..." not trying to offend, just being honest.
Tge coolest thing for me about metallica is that all of them have degrees in music and they put them to such good use and that is how they artuculate their music to sound they way it dies and hiw they just blend together
When Metallica was popular in the 90s, I was mostly listening to country music. Then one day, my son convinced me to listen to Nothing Else Matters. I can’t remember what year, but it’s been a long time. That clinched it for me with Metallica. This is not only my favorite Metallica song, but one of my all-time favorite songs ever. It is beautiful and, well there’s not enough good words to say about it. I liked the comment about how they’re the only band that have played on seven continents, and I’m going to have to look up the version of Elton John singing Nothing Else Matters.
To Live is To Die please!!. No lyrics, just 9 minutes of emotional music written by and for Mr. Cliff Burton. I dont think they have ever written anything more beautiful since. RIP
This song is what made me look into Metallica in the 90s...and i haven't been disappointed yet. This song is up there with 'One'...such musical genius.
You should listen to some of their newer stuff too. Here are some recommendations: - Spit out the Bone - That was Just Your life - Lux Æterna - The Day that never comes - St. Anger (It’s not as bad as people say) - Suicide and Redemption - Inamorata - Atlas Rise

Love this song. This one, along with a couple of their cover songs were the first songs that helped me understand that Metallica weren't just a bunch of brain dead head bangers, making noise. It got me to understand their amazing musicianship and helped bridge into some of their harder stuff.
I do love and respect this beautiful song, actually intro to it is one of the first things I've learned to play on a guitar, but some people who for some reason call them "true metallica fans" hate this song)) It's a masterpiece!
Sweet Mollyboy, you’ll find that the songs that are NOT in your face are the ones you take into your soul forever. Love watching you appreciate real music!
Another REALLY well done 'studio' video song by Aerosmith is "What it Takes" it shows them in the studio with a great vibe of how it is to put a great song together by a great band🤘
I’m sorry I keep commenting, your reaction getting goosebumps gives me goosebumps!! This is my very favorite song since I first heard it years ago! I’ve watched your video in this probably 50 times, at least. Good job, also glad your page is doing so well!!! 👍😎
A tribute album was released recently of Metallica songs, by VERY well know musicians, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band. 6 or 7 of them covered this song, Miley Cyrus and Chris Stapleton were 2 that I have heard. Elton John told the band during a Howard Stern show that this is one of the best songs he has ever heard.
Perfect entry song to the Metallica rabbit hole. It’s a beautiful and brilliant song and their catalog gets harder and harder but you should bounce around a bit. Hit the Black album next then ho backwards in time. 🤙🏻

I told you man under one of the previous Metallica reactions - you're gonna LOVE their 90s stuff. I was born in 88, so by the time when I was getting into their music it was the early 2000s. But I grew up in the 90s and I would always catch myself thinking while listening to their 90s albums "they have captured a whole decade in their music, it is like going back to my childhood even though I haven't been listening to them and Metal in general back then, they have captured how the world felt to me back then". And to think that this song was released in 1991 and they have just captured the whole of the 80s decade with their previous albums... This is why Metallica - at least in my eyes - is probably the greatest Metal band of all time.
The idea for song, james got whilst on the phone with a ex girlfriend.. Molly, from a Mancunian to a midlands lad.. Please do The day that never comes, live in niems france, 2009 ish... Thank me later bro..🤟😎🤟
Love this. My favorite too. I also think a listen to Ted Nugent, “Stranglehold”, would be a favorite too. Eight minutes long, with a 5 minute long guitar solo. A masterpiece. Love your channel!
You have just been introduced to the proof the Metallica is not just a great metal band , but they are a great band. They are great musicians, and this gorgeous song screams about their versatility. Welcome to a little U-turn in your musical journey! 🥰
I love your Metallica reactions. Looks like someone hooked you up with a list of Metallica's best songs because your song choices have been killer, dude. But they left out the song Sanitarium which has some of the most hauntingly beautiful guitar solos ever made..Keep em coming. Peace out!

Yes! By far the best reaction channel yet. Mollyboy i actually envy you a bit. You are feeling what we (older folks ) felt back in the day. Enjoy the ride kid!
This song makes me think you need to know just what a group of great guys these are. Check out their All Within My Hands charity foundation. Every show they donate a portion of ticket sales to local food banks. They raise money regularly by auctioning stuff off. They also have a bunch of trade schools they have scholarships for. Trade schools in America are schools that teach trade jobs like plumbing, carpentry all those kind of jobs. Also they are currently running a completion you can vote on for college and high school bands. They got to pick any Metallica song to play and it’s voted on to choose who gets money for new music equipment. They truly give back.
Even Sir Elton John said this was "one of the greatest songs ever written". Just brilliant!
Watching James get teary eyed when Elton said that to him was emotional.
James was definitely fighting back the tears. It was awesome to see him get that kind of compliment considering James did not want to play it for the band at first.
Our FAMILY THEME SONG!!!♥️✝️🎶

lol in every reaction to "Nothing Else Matters" there's someone who will note this.
This was my 85 year old father's funeral song.

Je te souhaite de vivre un concert de Metallica 😊 c'est une expérience intense 🎶 salutations de Belgique 😉
My favourite Metallica song
AND my
Favourite song EVER
🤘🤘🤘
No probably about it kid first saw them in the 80s last saw them in 2019 they are mind-blowing still..keep rocking
@@garymulviel9948 I sure will, sir!
One of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard tbh

Love this. My favorite too. I also think a listen to Ted Nugent, “Stranglehold”, would be a favorite too. Eight minutes long, with a 5 minute long guitar solo. A masterpiece. Love your channel!
You got to listen to ...and justice for all off the album ...and justice for all one of metallica's best songs
This song, one, and master of puppets are my top 3. This one song to my soul.
You have just been introduced to the proof the Metallica is not just a great metal band , but they are a great band. They are great musicians, and this gorgeous song screams about their versatility. Welcome to a little U-turn in your musical journey! 🥰
Check out My friend of misery from this album, it is Jason Newsteds best work imo
I love your Metallica reactions. Looks like someone hooked you up with a list of Metallica's best songs because your song choices have been killer, dude. But they left out the song Sanitarium which has some of the most hauntingly beautiful guitar solos ever made..Keep em coming. Peace out!
Another very different song would be Snuff by Slipknot, that will surprise you compared to their usual stuff.
Watch the live version with San Francisco Philharmonic Orchestra. Will blow you away. That whole concert will rock your world.
Love you to watch the black album documentary. How they made it. It’s hrs and hrs but break it up over a month
