Therapist reacts to Metallica - Nothing Else Matter (FIRST TIME REACTION)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 23 июл 2024
- Therapist analyzes Nothing Else Matters by Metallica to discuss the freedom that comes from knowing what is important and what's not. She talks about how listening to so many voices and seeing so many potential paths can lead to a feeling of overwhelm, and the statement "nothing else matters" allows a person to move down their chosen path with a focus which allows for faster forward momentum

Well, Fade to Black is perfect for a therapist to react! You definitely check it out!
Absolutly
Fade to Black is too easy - need a deep dive into Dyer’s Eve
Yes, and The Unforgiven trilogy as well.
hahah, sure
@@brianstinson7757
I agree Dyer's Eve would be great. I would also recommend Am I Evil
Metallica has always been my go to for the hardest moments in my life. Instead of leaving me in my depression, it gives me the desire to fight, to move on, to not give up.
The singer (James Hetfield) actually wrote this song for his then-girlfriend. The song is about long-distance relationships and missing your loved one. But this is the genius of his writing. He can write lyrics to a song and people can interpret it very differently, because he is able to write it so universally.
He broke up with her. So, it's now a song between Metallica & their fans.
I always say in reaction videos how james writes lyrics in a way that is very personal to him yet vague enough for the listener to interpret them unto their own life’s experiences! He is a master poet for sure. Hundreds of years from now people will be reflecting on how spectacular a writer he was!
Word 🤟🏻
@@susanconstable2113I don’t think we need to wait that long ☺️
He was actually afraid to introduce the song to the band as he was afraid they would think it was too soft. :)
SIR Elton John told Howard Stern that this is one of the best songs ever written.
That interview also had Metallica in the studio with Howard and James cried a little bit when he heard that. Lars smiled a lot for him.
“Open mind for a different view” That line changed my life.
On the Howard stern show he did a interview with Metallica and Elton John and he said that nothing else matters is one of the greatest songs ever written
The compliment made James tear up as well.
That was an amazing interview
You would be very interested in James hetfields past (the lead singer). He went through a lot and if you get to their other songs you’ll be blown away by his lyrics and what they represent from his life. Very relatable too
Yeah I just want to go back in time and give him a big hug 😂😂😂
It's crazy listening to you because I'm still here because of Metallica. There music is Therapy to me. Fade to Black is another that for me saved me the most It's sounds dark but the lyrics let me feel that I was not alone I'm not the only one going through what I'm going through. The build up through out the song lifts you up and bye the end of the song you are pumped and full of energy. Thankyou for reacting to Metallica I've bin listening to them since 1986 and I'm still here.
Sanitarium was my I-hate-the-world song as a teenager.
Fan since 1990 ❤
i have heard this song has saved a lot of people. glad you are still here.
It is my favorite song of metallica
I have at times in my life played that song on repeat. It allowed me to experience the feelings of the song without physically experiencing the feelings, if that makes sense. It really did help me get through those moments.
Same here. Fade to Black said it for me but it felt like a release to hear it. Still does.
The song "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica is about how difficult life can be, but that we should always remember to live our lives and not let those things ruin us. It's about overcoming adversity and realizing that the tragedies of life are just something that happens to everyone, regardless of their position.
Didn't he write the song because his amp his mom bought him got stolen?
@@tinocontreras5105 ....That was fade to black
I been listening to this song almost 40 years and girl you hit the nail on the head about what nothing else matters means. Great job
I have listened to this song 8000 times in my life (maybe exaggerating) but ive never heard it from a therapist point of view. This was cool to listen to and if i can get a free session let me know :) haha great reaction this was really cool
This song was released 11,619 days ago, so if you heard it 5 times a week maybe you’re not exaggerating! Haha!
I've been listening to Metallica for almost 25 years, and always thought of this song as a love / relationship / romantic song, but your point of view just gave this song a whole new meaning for me, and making me connect with it in a way more personal level. It's just about self love and the confidence that sometimes we're lacking off. Thank you so much!
Okay; three things about this video. First, this is the first time I've ever subscribed to a channel after watching the first video; two, I really like your apartment; three, your reaction is actually not a reaction but a really deep dive into the meaning behind these powerful lyrics. I love this song and you're the first one who ever showed me that he/she understood the deep meaning of it. You did not only get yourself a new subscriber but it's for sure that I've got myself a new channel to be excited about what it'll bring next. Thank you, young lady, for this video.
Well said
You are so good. Great interpretation, as always. Thank you!
You give such a unique perspective into these songs and the meaning behind them and it makes me happy. Just what i need while at home recovering from surgery
Your awesome..I've said the the same thing about "putting on your blinders" to focus on yourself and what really matters and has meaning to your life..great job reacting
James hetfield is a modern poet. He still have more to say to the world
Please, please, please do Fade to Black. It's the perfect song for a therapist analysis. That song has saved so many lifes (chose a live version, you won't regret it)🤘🏼🎶
I used this song at my church for my Wedding day for my Bride to come down the isles to me. My pastor was sure if we should have used it being that it was a metal band’s song… to me: We told him we waned it and he yielded… and it was a beautiful to have my Bribe come to me with this song.
thank you for acknowledging this.... This song has been there for me when nobody else has
You just listened to this song for the first time 12 days ago. In contrast, some loyal metal fans have been enjoying it for almost 32 years. 😂
Fade to black and no leaf clover are both great, once you start Metallica there’s no turning back!!
Just found your channel and watched two of your videos. I like the fact you are reacting to videos and have already formulated your reaction. Well, it appears you work that way since your reactions are very thorough and thought out. You have analyzed the lyrics, and in both videos I watched so far, presented thoughts about the songs I have overlooked for many many years. I love how you interrupt these songs and use metal songs to help people through rough times in their lives. Keep doing what you're doing, Taylor!!! \m/
I’ve had more than my share of therapists and none were even closely similar to this woman. She’s so encouraging and positive, it’s great. My journey to mental health involved a fair amount of medications but having a therapist on your side who is positive, well spoken and energetic would be quite a blessing.
thx for your reaction and words ... this will help me going forward
👍
I happened upon your videos the other day. I am so glad I did as I seem to have found someone who "hears" the music as opposed to "listens" to the music. I like how you to dissect the song and meaning. Many just "listen" to the song and only appreciate that much of the songs. I appreciate the combination of not only the lyrics but how the music is composed to is collaborated to boost the meaning.
I would love to see you react to Shinedown!! They have been advocating for mental health for decades!! Especially Atals falls, Get up, and symptom of being human.
The multitude of awesome covers of this song out there, especially orchestral and acapella choir versions give me chills every time. I don't know what it is, but this song just reaches inside me and stirs emotions in ways I cannot begin to describe.
Metallica saved my life, it gave me the strength to fight through the darkest moments of my depression. It still touches my heart in away that makes life seems worth living. 🤘
Always makes me smile to read about how many lives have been saved by music so many people deem as evil just out of hand. I am glad you are still here!
I'm so in love with the horse racing reference and blinkers/blinders, love that reference. They are definitely for focus and preventing horses from staring at being distracted by the crowd, or horses behind in sight, etc.
Metallica's library of songs can be on the hard side of things.....but the subject matter/lyrics are pretty damned profound.
From PTSD, drug addiction or suicide.....you should take it all in. You'll come away with a new-found appreciation for them.
Just found you. Liked and sub'd for more Metallica!
Just listen to the damn song and stop analyzing it
Yeah, I like to say heavy metal is about everything we didn’t talk about out loud. Dad’s shell shock (I’m old school) from Vietnam, mom’s addiction and mental illness, our childhood trauma. All that fun stuff 😂😂😂
This reaction matters! You do such a great job in putting into words why the song moves me the way it does...
The unforgiven , (also by metallica) parts 1 and 2 would be good songs to analyse as well..
Omg!!!! YES! Unforgiven would be perfect for analysis
I'm going through a rough cerebral patch right now and have never viewed this song in your way. Thank you for this amazing added perspective to a flawless song
Thank you for your perspective on this SPECIAL SONG to myself, I’m in that exact place that you’ve been describing!!!🙏
Hello...I just came across this reaction/ dissection of one of my favorite songs growing up, and all I can say is, you're exactly right. I've dealt with Schizophrenia since I was 11, and I literally taught myself how to listen to the voices that matter most to me, and ignore everything else. it's been a struggle, especially when my depression kicks in...but, when I focus on my building voices, instead of my teardown ones, it gets me through, and I come out the other side stronger. 'Nothing Else Matters' is by far, Metallica's best blueprint for dealing with chaotic voices...and it almost didn't make it on the album! if not for everyone cajoling James to put it on the album, I don't know where the world would be right now. Again, great reaction, and think you for understanding what music, in general, has been teaching us from the beginning. Have a wonderful week ahead, and I look forward to the next Metallica reaction you do. Bye...
I love your videos and the gestures you make haha
I not that long ago, actually only about three weeks ago was lost in all kinds of thoughts and stress and so on…..until i had a meeting with a second psychologist.
This psychologist asked different questions than the first one i went to, and it made me realise what has caused all the discomfort, all the dramatic thoughts, all the worries, all the suicidal thoughts…..it all started as jealousy and one step i took without really knowing how much of an impact it had on me personally was to delete my Facebook account, it helped me a lot to focus on what was important to me.
Great video and great way of telling what the song is about, loved it!.
Love, ❤️ hugs, 🤗 and metal 🤘
You should react to Fade to Black it’s another mental health related Metallica song. Great one 🤟
That was very helpful for me. Thank you very much.
ABSOLUTELY---------> OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!. 🙂
I saw a video of a couple that used this as their first dance. It was so beautiful!
If you also look at the bands history & the loss they suffered years ago on tour is heartbreaking & to see how they came together & made it through the grief is so inspiring as well. ❤
Beautiful. I love how you view and talk about these videos. And the words behind the songs, Especially coming from a clinically, licensed crazy person. Keep up the great work all the best.💪🙏👊🤙💪😂
Thank you for this reaction. My daughter who is still rather young at least for her generation still struggles at 30 years old trying to focus on every (what she perceives) and all evil things in the world. I’ve had talks with her about what you said in this video but my whole point I suppose is it is nice to hear this from someone like yourself. I have subscribed.
If I could find a real good person that is a therapist and honest and open like you I would go . .. it would truly be nice
I’ve been a fan of this band and this song for a decade but your interpretation of the song is a new level. Thanks for the reaction. You gotta do fade to black next for sure.
I actually got this tattooed on my arm when I was sixteen, that was years ago, I felt that way then. Music has saved my life so many times when I was down it brought me back up. Save me from killing myself
One of the greatest songs of all time
This song is in my meditation play list. This is the song in the middle of my meditation that I take all the BS I have trouble dealing with and I pack it away. This song is why i don't need a therapist. THank you James for the best song for my life.
Love this song! One of the best songs of all time!!! 🎼 🎙️ 🎸
Hi. I just found your channel today and I've been watching your reactions for hours. Great insights on the lyrics and your enthusiasm is infectious. At least one person has mentioned Metallica - Fade to Black. I'd like to add Skid Row - Wasted Time as well. Much love from Australia. (edit) I'd add some Alice in Chains or Soundgarden songs to have you analyse them, but that would be a long list.
love this song!!!!! It is such a beautiful song.
there's a reason this track's still in my top 20 ever. glad you loved it...brilliant lyrics...banging band. 👊🏽
OMG your reaction to this song meant sooo much to me. I'm a 57 yo male and have been having some issues that have overwhelmed me to the point where I'm starting to not feel like "me" anymore. I've heard this song hundreds of times, but your take on it gave me hope to get out of this funk I'm in. I literally just made an appt with a therapist. THANK YOU!!!
Take care of yourself Larry. WE are all there for you.
@@neilelkins5006 thanks so much. I got this.
To quote Metallica them selves "This I swear, the Sun Will Shine!"
Phenomenal reaction and very insightful. This is my favorite reaction to this video and one of my favorite of yours. I would check out Fade to Black next. I would love to hear your take on that.
This song is one of my go toos for my mental health
Its about love
When they filming the video (this clips of the studio are the actully first time of play the song) James called his wife and let the phone "open" so she can hear the song for the first time
I was sceptical of young persons reaction to a song ive loved for 30 years. But i am impressed by her analysis.
Master of Puppets, Fade to Black, Battery…. Love Metallica
Beautiful song,very relaxing...
It's me again. I just remember the name of that Richard Wright song. The song is called breakthrough and he does it. With david gilmore one of his concert
The version of Nothing Else Matters with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra was the only song my wife would accept as our First Dance song at our wedding.
I loved it, her dad hated it. It was great.
Good analysis..
Metal is good for the body and mind.
❤ Love this Tune.
I am diagnosed with DID and your analysis really helped
Best metal band in the world!! Hands Down!!
This is the perfect song for when a party with your friends winds down, and you are tired and zoning out.
One of the best pieces of music ever written...
I cry every time I hear this song.
Definitely have to do fade to black or master of puppets
My wife chose this song (apocolyptica version) to walk down the isle to during our wedding ceremony. I'll never forget watching her walking towards me with this song playing. epic. #nothingelsematters
if you ever fill like doing a deep dive I would recommend the Talking Heads or the Doors, thank you for sharing this with us.
Firstly, i hear Metallica i was 5 years old,, my older bro came with a cassette,, kill m all... i just was in a wow !!! i followed every album since. I remember clearly, when i heard, the black album, this song makes me crying, fully deep inside, i was able to understand the lyrics ,,, also every past songs too,, like fade to black.... i struggle with anxiety , depression and addiction... still today.. but not as it was at that time.. im just 45 now... Metallica seriously in a way save my life,,, :) even if i tried to end it 3 times... overdosed, hung my self.... just before that moment, i was listening It, but i tried anyways.... today... i feel it,,, that is my inner self who struggle, and im blessed to can hear them again like may other bands that i love.. oh...the first song that i learn to play,, is Nothing else matters !!!! i still play it... music is in my soul forever. thank to read me guys.... im sure that one of you can relate to it :)
This will always be my favorite Metallica song
I love this song by the way.
First of all thanks for the content. Really appreciate it 🙏🏼 I think you need to listen to “Fade to Black” as well.
Metallica's music is my therapy.
You gotta listen to "Am I Evil?". It's a great song and one of my favorites honestly.
Oh man is she ready for “Am I Evil” ? Maybe Creeping Death first
This was our wedding song 20 some years ago. Several people were against us. My best friend and I heard it on the radio going home from work and he said, "This is your song"! Wife needed me to show we could dance to to it and she was sold!!!!!
Loved watching your reactions. ❤
I turned 13 the year this album came out and a close friend gave it to me as a gift. The next year I saw them live in my first concert. And while I related to many songs in this album it was their older song Sanitarium that was my scream at the Devil rage song.
Love to see a therapist pov on it.
Many people are asking you to react to Fade to black since its lyrics are overwhelming, and I join the request. First time I see the channel, you already have one more subscriber. all the best.
Just came upon your Channel this morning. Thank You! I'm Older, Been Clean Sober for, haha...lose count but 26yrs. I do struggle at times, not with a "Relapse" although always present but relating to people Less Now than I EVER have. Daily I don't understand the HEROIN Social Media is for people. It is in every aspect of their lives. I see the exact same behavior I had as an addict in everyone else. Social Media is THEIR FIX. I just lived in a time prior to Social Media when you Lived and You Learned, not being "INFLUENCED" by what may or may not be true, may or may not be beneficial, may or may not be acceptable. I QUIT going to Concerts, All the Phones recording, People Literally incapable of LIVING IN THE MOMENT. I am actually living the song The SOUND OF SILENCE. Keeping it short, that's it. smile Anyway It's good to listen to a Clear Mind. Thnx.
No, the Irony of what I just wrote on a Social Media Platform is not lost on Me. 🙃Just Reaching out for Sanity.
So much of metal is about the struggles of mental health. Depression, suicide, not giving up, learning who you can trust.... People get stuck on the "loud" music and ignore that the lyrics are profound, and more so than just about any other genre.
Should react to some Porcupine Tree : Anesthetize … the chaos of over prescribing psych meds. Feeling the disassociated feeling of meds through the clearing of them from the system only to ride the mania to a crescendo and crash only to awake back on the meds…
Nice reaction..i like this song weve been jamming b4..theres a cover song by franz rythm family band (father and kids jamming).u can react also to their other cover songs of cranberies, the corrs, csn, ccr, etc.
Richard Wright and David Gilmore get a song from one of richard wright's solo albums and it's done on 1 of David gilmore's channel. You should check it out. I just wish I could remember the name of it.
This song is about a girlfriend he had that broke up with him. When he wrote this song, he didn’t want to show it to his band because he thought that they would make fun of him for it but they really like it
You should respond to Nightwish.
Nightwish - The Poet And The Pendulum.
It's a song about severe depression by the band's composer and keyboardist.
Love ur reactions and understandings of songs, especially slipknot. Now i would like to c ur reaction to bullet for my valentine "waking the demon"
i wanna see therapist reaction to metallica unforgiven
Please do more metallica! Back in April I developed panic attacks ( extreme ones) , and bad anxiety. Music is one of the most important things that helps me get by! Rock music, and metal mostly! I love that I am seeing more people become accepting of it, and into it! Younger people too! I am 41 so it is pretty cool to see 18, 19, 20 year olds finding metallica! You can also check out In This Moment! Edit here... I am also a recovering addict almost 9 years sober! My favorite Metallica song is Called Bleeding Me! The Lyrics to it are so good! It explains Exactly how I felt trying to stay sober before I did stay sober.
Fade to Black & Bleeding Me are ones I’d truly like to see you react to, just an idea.
Well, the alcoholism alone is a major factor. And as I remember James got the idea while on the phone at home from Russia, strumming his guitar with one hand.
But then again, everyone has their own take on this song, which is beautiful.
so many metallica songs for the therapist to dive to
Hero of the Day✌🙂
Thank you ❤️🩹
Gracias gracias gracias
This SONG has saved me a few times
It's a love song
