No they classic suits are the ones that are Navy and Yellow, back when Iceman looked like a snowman and beast looked human, they are a mix of the uncanny xmen , while morph is wearing his Exiles costumes
@@andrewpearson3516 these are their classic suits. The ones originally worn in are called their first appearance suits. It's the same as green hulk and red/yellow iron man being classic whilst grey hulk and gold iron man are first appearance

I like how everyone switched back to their classic suits, while Jubilee switched to her modern suit.
Well she had the classic suit before so..
Wolverine's yellow and blue suit is pretty much 1:1 to his second appearance in Giant X-Men number 1

@@darrendyson8347wolverines costume got messed up last episode and the mansion was destroyed. They are probably in a backup place here. Seeing as all the costumes are lined up.
It does stand out - in episode 8, she got it at the mall, and the Motendo episode was useful for bookmarking her growth into a mutant who is more exposed to the angst and consequences

Me too, I like that they kept his religioness in this since it was a big part of his character in the original series; whilst at the same time never forcing it or moralizing about it.
Very comic accurate. Kurt is very Catholic, very religious. This is right out of the Claremont run.

The best thing about this series is that it respected the design of the characters as they should be. He didn't invent anything, he stayed as close to the comics as possible

@@theamazingspooderman2697 That was just dumb writing, he never shouldn't even gotten that close, especially since 2 mins prior, Cyclops blasted the ground in front of him to creatre a barrier yet doesn't fire a strong enough blast to let X-Cutioner get close. That's the problem with superhero shows, there's always dumb writing to give weaker characters an edge.

@@stevengamble5290 Magneto is always the right choice. He lead the New Mutants and even befriend Magik. He lead during Genosha and Schism. Charles is the one that "dies", becomes evil or is kicked out of X-Men/Mutantkind.

these are the 1970s-1980s Chris Claremont suits that were also featured in the 1989 television pilot "Pryde of the X-Men". Also, note the business card for Roberto at 0:20 "Claremont Ave"

I knew when Magneto was in his 80's fit it was foreshadow. Then Storm got her uncanny era constume it was Easter egging a massive era shift. Love it.
Fun fact... Storm's costume is made out of the Adversary.
its not an era change. This is more like a homage to older suits. Their stuff burned to the ground in the mansion so they had to use their older equipment in their old HQ at Muir Island.
It's not a permanent change. Soon enough they'll return to the "normal" suits.
So happy Jubilee is keeping her outfit.

The fact the Trish Tilby is on a recovery bed makes me feel bad for all the people who got slice and diced in the big fight.
Did they not reform? So that maybe once the sentinel part of them was subdued by Magento's EMP wave, they can still be alive?
Same for all the sentinel primes who fell outta the sky.
Of course, some of those folks signed UP or the program, some are Friends Of Humanity types and racists and might as well die, but a ton more people got infected unwillingly.

Season one was a critical and audience smash hit. Marvel studios is top notch in the animation department. 👍
Maybe they're GETTING THERE again, but DC Animation has been mopping the floor with them for decades. We had some decent-to-great Marvel cartoons in the '90s, but has the 2000s and onward really given us much? I hear Spectacular Spider-Man is good (by Greg Weisman, the guy who created Gargoyles), but that's one I never got to.
X-Men '97 is the sort of cartoon I'd like to see more of. And continuations of our childhood and tween/teen favourites? Do more of 'em. 😃

X-Men'97 surely delivers, with not a dull moment in any episode. This continuation of the masterpiece animated series is undoubtedly Marvel's best decision yet

But the costumes they were already wearing are from the comics also.
In fact, Wolverine was already his classic, Yellow tiger stripe costume. The brown was a later costume.

The core team of Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean, Storm are going back to classic suits because the suits they previously worn have been destroyed along with the mansion. Morph gets his comics suit, Jubilee got her updated suit. Cable is getting his official X-Men suit

Huh. I'm pleasantly surprised by Forge joining the team. Not complaining, I certainly have no objection to it and I had a hunch that it could happen, but still, pleasantly surprised. I like being right.

I’m sad that Cable cannot use time travel to bring back gambit. I guess that the only way to Bring Gambit Back is The Apocalypse who can bring him back, but first, he tells Mister Sinister to get his body, take his body, and then, he gets revived and transforms him into the horseman of death.
Unless the Gambit that died in Genosha was a Sinister clone, and the real Gambit is in a lab somewhere.

Marvel-You revived my love of the X-men with Season 1 of X-men '97. Now you've got me purchasing all of the X-men Omnibuses....you've got me re-watching the entire X-men The Animated Series, X-men Evolution Series, Wolverine and the X-men series. Thank you so much-Cannot WAIT for Seasons 2-5, Deadpool & Wolverine, and the first MCU X-men movie!!!(But I'm not buying any toys or action figures so calm down.)

1) If we're doing old school Costumes, they should have given morph a version of the Purple Changeline suit (maybe without the helmet)

I'm very impressed with the 97 version of the X-Men. I grew up on the 96 episodes and animation looks great and the way they use there powers in the 97 version is dope as hell!!!
Haven’t even seen this show yet. I waited so I can binge watch them all.
0:13 I see that Trish Trilby is somewhat alive and might need of a cure from her Prime Sentinel condition.
Or at least free her from Bastion's control and keep the upgrades.
This show has rekindled my love not only for the X-Men, but for comics in general. I don't think I've ever dived this deep back into the lore of something & you can see all the care & love for the source material that has been given in the making of something fresh & new. I also think that when live action X-Men happens, beyond The Avengers, beyond The Fantastic Four, these are the characters - in their loves & hates - that truly can drive the future of the MCU. It's right there with being the best show of the year and all the creators deserve their flowers for it.
