Blade came out and suddenly every superhero needed black sunglasses, black boots, black eyeliner, black lipstick, and black jackets. But that never was Wolverine. He was never a Matrix knockoff. And what's worse is after 1998, comics revamped all their looks to either be ALL BLACK, or ALL CHROME. No in between. So either you got emo new-wave versions of your superhero or a spaceship galactic one.

we don't need a solo film for every character, that would be a bit too much. With that said though, I'd honestly be fine with them doing non live action films like the Spider-verse with a higher budget and updates to the look here. I'm all for animation, so long as the people working on it aren't worked into the ground doing it.
I wouldn't go so far as to dunk on the fox films either. They aren't perfect CLEARLY, but you can't always force things through and sometimes need to take baby steps. Without those films we might not have what we have now.
I think we didn't need solo films for X Men but i would like to see it splited in various X Men teams each one with their characteristics. The Uncany X Men, X Men Red, X Men Blue, New Mutants or New X Men for the studants team, Excalibur, Marauders, X Factor Investigations, Freedom Force, Alpha Flight and more government mutant teams for countries, X force, Exiles and more and more teams and spin offs

I think everyone has said it, but I have to say it again. This show looks so beautiful, the colors, animation, fight scenes, scenery… it’s all so beautifully done.

Storm looks so beautiful and bad@ss in her OG outfit! I love it!!! High praise to Beau DeMayo & other writers, voice actors & animators for bringing these beloved characters to life 🖤. (Never thought I'd see the day where writers could make Scott and Jean interesting and compelling.) I could not be happier how well they are tapping into the heart of the graphic novels to inform these characters' personalities, powers, and relationships. X-Men '97 is all that I wanted but didn't dare hope for. A love letter not only to fans of the original animated series, but more than that I think it is a love letter to the generations of fans of the X-Men comic books. Kudos all around to the entire X-Men '97 team and on a job so very well done! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Congratulations, Marvel & Feige. You all knocked this one out the box!

@@KingsNJenssons I really want this, Revolutionary Cyclops was BEST Cyclops in the comics, really want his X-Force/X-Tinction team from the comics too. I think by season's end we are definitely getting that Cyclops, no way he can go back to naively following Xavier's failed dream, he's seen what it cost.
I cannot thank enough for all that this show is now doing for us. For the X-men fans. For the people who survived through their early life just hanging on to the moral compass that reached us, kids, through animation and comics, in the 90s.

It's a joke that's meant to come full circle.
The last line is ICONIC!! “What did u expect, black leather”- this is in reference to Brian Singer the writer and director of the live action X-men movies. He wasn’t a Comicbook fan and thought X-men were goofy that’s why he didn’t have any of them in their comic outfits. There was a scene in one of the movies where someone says, “what do expect yellow spandex (referring to Wolverines comic outfit)”. So this is a diss back to Brian Singer and I LOVE IT!!!
It was also cyclops who told wolverine about the yellow spandex.
And it was Kevin Feige who had to make sure there was at least some comic book accuracy back in the day
@@erichfiedler1481 yeah but when Brian Singer found out he told everyone to throw out the comics and not to read anything comic related and for Kevin to keep his comics at home- but Kevin refused he snuck the comics in anyway and shared them with the cast secretly!

My childhood is back!!! My favorite animated serie!!!
I had lost faith in Marvel post their lackluster and rushed releases in phase 4 but this show has completely revitalised it.
The characters, story, animation, slightly modified opening was perfect. It is clear that the showrunners understand the core themes of the source material and perfectly adapted it.
Still can't get over what happened to Gambit, truly heartbreaking.

This by far became one of the best animated series ever made. Marvel for once did a good job for this vlassic cartoon. The animation is better than the originals, and its a faithful sequel.

I've been an X-Men fan since 1990 but didn't really enjoy any of the live-action films (except Logan) and I'm just beyond thrilled that the world is finally getting to see my faves as they deserve to be seen

X-Men '97 has been one of my favorite Marvel cartoon projects to date! This sequel has been the best cartoon series so far this decade!

I really hope you folks at Marvel Entertainment really get to see these comments. Because not only has this show exceeded my expectations far more than I could have imagined. But it is quite possibly the greatest project to ever come from Marvel Studios since Endgame. Nearly every episode has me inspired and left to tears. And it is ironically unfortunate that the allegory of X is still relevant today. This series could not have come at a better time to deliver the messages it so pointedly does. Each monologue has me in chills. We truly are so fortunate to live in an era where a creation can have such a profound effect on so many people. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Re-living my childhood - Best Animation this year!

Well, almost all of the trailer is a recap of the first 7 episodes. But they've certainly earned hype for the last 3, and I appreciate lack of real spoilers.
I'm currently binging the 1992 series but I am so hyped for this! I'm going to watch it right after and I can't wait! It looks absolutely incredible in all respects.

This is why in this genre it is critically important to have people who not just familiar with the source material but actually LOVE the source material involved. You can tell the writers for this project have a passion for the characters and stories this shows foundation is built on.
The Russo's were comic book fans. As was John Faverau, Ryan Coogler, James Gunn, the writers of Cap 2/3, Infinity War and Endgame. And all of those projects were top notch.
The MCU started to go left in phase 4 when Fiege told the creatives that they didn't need to know that stuff and actually preferred that they were not fans of the source material.

Killing a character is not disrespectful, it is a plot device.
Turns out Beau DeMayo wrote a fan fiction sequel for the first X-Men film, and X-Men '97 is partly based on that.
