I honestly don't see anything wrong with raising a baby kaiju. Just treat it with love and care,give it space whenever it needs it,and teach it how to do good. Who knows? The world be seeing a heroic kaiju sized protector.
Not a fan of the baby Kaijuu tho. I thought it's a bit generic aquatic monster-looking compared to Ultraman's more peculiar designs (Like Red King with it's Accordion-like body, Gomora with it's bull-like feature or whatever the hell Eleking is) It's still a good and cute design. Just wished we could have get something more unique haha (something like maybe something like Ragon)
Im very sold, Ultraman as a concept was made for this sort of heartfelt storytelling, the Ultras embody the saying of being strong enough to be gentle. And its also a great commitment to have one put in the work to raise an orphaned kaiju. You kinda can't do that with the classic monster of the week storytelling.
The series did their best, with most of them dedicating an episode or two to a kaiju that was harmless or misunderstood. But yeah, it's hard to really drive home the commitment it takes to stay peaceful and only fight as a last resort when every single episode needs to have a fight with a giant thing. But it's a side of the franchise that was always there, and it's really nice to be able to devote a whole movie to it.

Pretty sure the closest an Ultras been commited to a proactive role in raising kids is Ultraman 80 and they couldnt as a series do that cause ratings and concerns from parents and government stopped em from going deep into that angle so 80 had to leave and be a monster fighter like all other ultras. But boy the Mebius episode where he came to earth and saw his students again still remembering him even in Ultra form kills me.
This is such an interesting take on an Ultraman story compared to other media we've been getting for the franchise. Honestly feels like a breath of fresh air. Cant wait to see it
I think a lot of people would expect more of a general run-down of the Ultraman concept. Instead, it’s an alternate universe where the defense team is corrupt plus what feels like a mid-season episode plot of someone having to take care of a baby kaiju (it totally could have happened on Taro. Or Cosmos). But the aesthetic details feel more on-point than the last Netflix Ultraman thing. I hear this movie actually started as a non-Ultraman project called “Made in Japan”.
Itd actually be sick if they made some sort of rod puppet like the Colossal Titan from the live action AOT movies cuz i dont think they have the CG budget to make him look good alongside the other ultras. I mean....just look at Avataro Sentai Donbrothers (ik its not tsuburaya but you get the idea, similar budgets for shows)

However, they might just see that as stylization and have him be played by a regularly-proportioned man in a suit. But then he'd look a lot like the first Ultraman. Which would be tough, but I see why he looks so similar in markings and coloration for this production. Because the '66 Ultraman was the only version that had a big impact in the U.S.
