If I wanted to get into video editing in the hopes of making more professional videos maybe even film where should I start tutorial wise? I already have the software (I.e Adobe AE, Sony Vegas, Final Cut)
If you are looking into starting more professional style videos/films I would advise that you learn how to use Premiere Pro. It is essentially becoming the standard for most studios in the industry and independent film makers. Organization, seamless after effects integration, and the ability to have multiple timelines in the same project file (think compositions in after effects, but with video/audio tracks instead) are a huge plus for using it for professional related projects. The "Into the Artist" video we uploaded the other day was edited and graded all in Premiere Pro, so watch that and you can get an idea of what is capable with it. It will undoubtedly be your best bet for those types of projects. As far as music videos go, hands down use Vegas for that. Vegas cannot be beat when it comes to precisely cutting clips and matching them up with the waveform of the music. Plus it will be significantly quicker to do in Vegas than any other program simply because of how easy the interface is. Tutorial wise, that really just depends on what exactly you are trying to do with your videos. Are you trying to learn how to color grade better? Are you trying to learn how to actually film properly (iso settings, aperture, etc)? Are you trying to learn things more along the lines of motion graphics? There are a lot of things you could look into, but I would suggest narrowing down what exactly you want to do and then start from there. Hope this helps a bit :) Z4NE
