At one time I was a single mom of one. I would cook for 2 meals in one. We ate two nights off one cooking. I made her breakfast everyday. Packed her a lunch. We both ate dinner together. My budget was $25 a week for 21 meals including the cheapest coffee I could find. I only bought coffee once a month. God looked after us. We never went hungry. Of course life is better now that I have a bigger family. I will never be able to get over planning on a budget. It's just how I am. You are so right about spices changes the flavor. Thank you for all your ideas and meal plans.

Please don’t pay any attention to those who want to complain about your choice of meals. You are trying to help others who may not be able to get healthy.
A hungry stomach doesn’t care if it’s healthy or not. You know your family isn’t going hungry.
Thank you for the videos. Love them.

Hi Tamara. This was great! I think that your meals are pretty balanced as far as nutrition. Whoever is criticizing must never have had to struggle to feed their family. I don’t know any other way to explain it 🤷🏽‍♀️ I think that you are such an inspiration 💕

I really think it depends on where you live. We have some vegetables that are still pretty cheap but others have doubled or more. Also depends on what people in the house will eat-I’d rather buy a pack of carrots or something than a box of noodles or canned veg for the same price but not everyone can do that based on preferences and variety of prices where you live.

I agree with you on the chicken or beef bouillon cubes or powders. I was at Walmart earlier & needed both. In the gravy section packs of the bouillon cubes were more than $2 for a small pack. I went & checked the ethnic foods aisle & the same size Goya packs were.98¢.

    • @momentsformoms9467
      @momentsformoms9467 2 года назад +2

Yeah I got those too,way cheaper than buying boxes of broth. Ours here are about $1 on sale but that’s 1-2 uses versus the 20 or so you get from powder & cubes where you just add water.

Great budget meal ideas! The sausage veggie ramen is a great way to make a balanced meal out of ramen. Even the frozen veggies you used are very nutritious and pretty inexpensive. It doesn't necessarily need to be "fresh" to be healthy. :)

Nice job on this. I'm home from grocery shopping this afternoon and feeling a little sticker shock. Thanks for including the individual item prices... usually things are higher here, but some of the local markdowns beat your costs. My husband's always suggesting beanie weenie for a budget dinner. Now if I could just get him to eat ramen.

Hi Tamara👋👋👋 I think it’s great that you take the time to share extreme budget meals. I find it sad that there’s people who take the time to come on and criticize you for sharing what they feel are unhealthy meal choices, as you said, all that matters is that your family is fed, people like that are ignorant and obviously have never known what it’s like to be poor and concerned about where your family’s next meal may come from, surely they don’t recognize that there’s 1000s or more people, children who barely have one meal a day, there’s nothing worse than hearing the cries of a hungry child🥹 Thank you for all you do, I’m glad that you’re a strong person who doesn’t allow ignorant people to deter you from your goal of helping those in need🙏TYFS, I hope you have a peaceful and blessed weekend♥️💫✨👼🏻✨💫♥️

The way I see it, if you're actually legitimately hungry then you're gonna grab what you can to feed your family. Not everyone can afford to buy the $5 head of broccoli or whatever so they HAVE to buy the canned/frozen version or go without a veggie a couple of nights a week because they can't afford to have them every night. That's why McDonald's burgers are $1.50 and a prepped salad from Walmart is $4. All of your meals always look incredible though.

I agree with the other commenters, looks like there’s at least some veg in each meal. It also varies based on where you live but also what people in the house will actually eat. Where I am most vegetables are reasonably priced and haven’t really raised that I noticed, but others have doubled or more & some are even smaller weights than before.

It’s upsetting to see negative comments about the budget meals being junk or unhealthy. Frozen veggies are just as good if not better than fresh sometimes. And I’m so thankful that you don’t use beans for every meal. I HATE beans and most budget meals say to use them so it’s nice to see that you have more variety. I love these meals that you made here and I actually make the taco Mac and cheese kinda often for my family. I love adding a tomato on top for some freshness and I might try adding in the corn like your suggestion too!

We don't drink milk, but use for cooking. We buy the dry milk powder Nido. It's in a round canister at Walmart, larger size at Costco or Sam's Club. It has a child pictured on the canister. The scoop that comes with inside, use 4 small scoops to make a cup of milk. If you were going to drink this I suggest chilling or use cold water. The large canister was running around 20-21 dollars. It last us around 9 months though. Use it for cooking, soups, making oatmeal instead of just water. It's very useful to have in your prepper pantry.Hope this helps! Love watching. Keep those videos coming. I am a 66 year old gma but still have enjoyed watching! Kathy from California ❣️

I use ramen in my stir fry frequently. One thing I do is drain my ramen and set aside the liquid for a sauce. I saute my ramen with the sausage to get the meat flavor into the ramen then I add the veggies at the end add in your water and seasoning if you like peanut sauce and can tolerate peanuts add a tablespoon of peanut butter to your sauceit just adds another component of flavor.

There was a time that I worked 2 jobs and we still had to eat a lot of beans and rice. When you live on a very tight budget you do what you have to do to feed your kids.

When all is said an done the kids went to bed with full tummies. Yeah there will be those who'll be negative, maybe they never struggled. Or went to bed with a growling stomachf

Thank you for sharing these recipes. Also thank you for your positive fans. I love reading comments/suggestions, etc. Looking back I can see where my family struggled throughout my childhood. I was never hungry, however was lean.... can't say that now. I'm sure it hurt my mother when I stuffed food under the ridge of my plate....Kids don't know what's going on. 😂 Have a blessed and beautiful day 🥰

I have not seen diced canned ham at Walmart before. That looks like it would make a great addition to leftover rice.

Your meals are very creative! Great ideas. I would have browned all the meats including the ham before I added them to the dish. Gives added flavor to the meal.

Just found your channel. This is a great video. Thank you for sharing and thank you for understanding. My mother used to say that as long as your belly is full and not growling, people don't know if you got full of steak or beans and rice!
