For G1, it’s not a bad falcon mode. I mean other G1 examples are Cutthroat, Lazerbeak/Buzzsaw, Swoop (granted he’s a pterodactyl), Divebomb, and Wingspan.... Really, Doubledealer issn’t bad for G1.

Complete he's generally $150-200. Skar is $25. Knok is $35. His chest piece usually missing. And his missile is $45. He's up there with G1 Prime and Megatron as far as cost.
I got one complete with both his powermasters on Transformerland.com for $90. He was just missing his chest piece which is gonna be a pain in the ass to find, probably.

Definitely among the best figures from the latter end of G1 when it was in its decline. It's strange that this character isnt more popular.

Is this the first time G1 Megatron is not told anything about the location of his trigger? I guess bots with awkward parts placement really get and respect each other.
My brother and I had this figure when we were young. You can fold his arms out to help get out the bat power-master, but those clips are though and never broke. you could also use your nail or spugger to pop it out from between the legs, the same spot the humanoid power-master has a tab. And yes the original instruction had you stick scar in the butt for storage, IIRC

Well, Doubledealer was a Powermaster. A double agent who was on both sides at once. An Autobot *and* a Decepticon.
This character is somewhat similar to Punch and Counterpunch, which came before Doubledealer.
7-0-SAVAGE There’s also Punch, an Autobot spy infiltrating the Decepticons using a disguise(the double spy gimmick in his toy) under the name Counterpunch. His bio states that he may be developing multiple personalities, as Counterpunch is sorta becoming his own person.
Transformers: Super-God Masterforce makes him the opposite of Punch - a double-agent who’s a little less trustworthy than Punch. Different take on Knok/Skar, too.

Absolutly one of the better g1 toys in terms of holding up over time. I like that the earthrise version has a removable engine block for either of the power master characters(now soundwave minion repaints) so they look like the original a bit more. Such a unique g1 toy.
In the super god masterforce cartoon his 1st appearance episode is called “ the appearance of the final godmaster” and he’s one person that can turn into a autobot or a decpticon

Great review Emgo316. This was my favorite G1 toy as a kid but was lost to time. Broke down 2 yrs ago and pieced one together on ebay. Not cheap but it makes me happy every time I transform it. And now that we're getting a completely new figure (the bastard version of generations blitzwing is nonexistent in my book) I can hardly wait for my preorder. Looking forward to what HasTak can accomplish with modern engineering.
I still have my G1 DoubleDealer with both powermasters. I just got the new Knok & Skaar. Now just need the Earthrise verison

Ooh I’ve been away for a while- love the turntable! Also, my brother and I each got Powermaster Optimus Prime one Christmas and had no clue the point of the lil’ dude was to UNLOCK a feature. We totally broke the locking tabs on ours wondering why his legs wouldn’t go down... doh! Still played beautifully

Boy, I did not expect this coming. So I was looking for second-hand Transformers on eBay and came across the Earthrise version of this character. Those purple wings that transform into themselves into the rectangular compartment looked extremely familiar to a toy I played with as a kid. Looking more into Doubledealer's design on the eBay pictures, I also found the front of the vehicle oddly familiar.
I looked up a review of the Earthrise toy on YT and found someone commenting about their memories of the G1 toy. That led me to this video by Emgo, a RUclipsr that only recently I've started watching videos from on Transformers toys that also I've recently started to collect here and there (I did buy a few Transformers when I was a kid but not that many). The way the giant head can move forward on a bit of thin plastic is even more familiar, and the collapsable purple wings too.
Up until now, I thought my first time experiencing Transformers was the 2007 Michael Bay movie. I swear I've played with this toy but I was born almost 2 decades after the airing of the Transformers G1 show? Did I just find my childhood toy? Does my history with the Transformers franchise date even further back and I'm only realising this now?
Recently My father and I were discussing a toy that I played with a long time ago but we couldn't quite place our finger on it. Is this the toy we were talking about? Emgo, thank you for making this video review because I wouldn't have found myself in this interesting predicament otherwise.

This is nostalgic. When I was younger, Double Dealer was one of the last Transformers I had. Along with Nosecone, Starscream (minus all of his accessories), and one of the automatic transforming twin bots. Then shortly after we ended up giving all of my toys to a Goodwill, and I didn't start collecting Transformers again until I was an adult. Was happy to hear he was getting a new figure in Earthrise, because I have fond memories of this figure.
A phenomenal and fun toy for back in the day. Megatron's master plan indeed lol.
i wish i had that because i have the generations doubledealer and it is a good figure and i was surprised that a new one was announced and they went back to his g1 look man thats gonna be so AMAZING
I had Double Dealer as a kid. I used to call the falcon mode the vulture mode. Seemed more accurate.

Not gonna lie, even if you HAD only got this guy cause of the Earthrise one, it's legit awesome to see some of these guys finally. I got into collecting when I was 15 and getting anything G1 was already nearly impossible by then, so these G1 Funday videos are some of my faves just cause it helps to know which G1 bots are truly cool and which ones are just very...... very nostalgic. lol
Earthrise doubledealer brought me here. I've had this figure when I was a kid but never got chance to know what it is called and never keep this in my memory. Today I got the memory back. It transforms exactly same as how I remembered.
That would make a great video. Putting the repro labels on any one of your transformers. To see the b4 and after. Kinda like what you do with the senti candy toys. Just no candy or the candy burps lol.
Always one of my more favourite Transformers I have had.
I remember trying to figure out how the different modes unlock and changing it up, so I could give the robot mode wings.
And yes, getting the powermasters out has always been a pain, even when new.
Doubledealer is the only bot I have left from my childhood (was always my favourite) after my parents sold my toys. Skar was lost for over 20 years and turned up in a box of Lego. I asked my my mum to look for it and he was right on top of the lego pile.
He is absolutely amazing. I had one that was not complete for years... Last year Bert the Stormtrooper sent out a thing about the chest piece and I sent him my Doubledealer and between his and mine, he now has a complete Doubledealer. The love for this character is still strong with many. We were done dirty with the Blitzwing remold, so glad he is getting a new figure of his own!

Glad we have upgrade kits to fill in the gaps. I especially love the thigh fillers for my new ish powermaster Optimus Prime.
I don't have that figure (definitely getting the new one though), but I think you can pull the red clips back to get the Powermaster out safely.

Speaking as someone who does own a G1 Doubledealer, I've found the best way to remove his powermaster figures from vehicle mode is to lift up his head section, move the folded arm sections to a 45 degree angle, grasp the powermaster top and bottom (as best you can) and pull the powermaster top loose first, after which the bottom comes loose more or less on its own.

G1 Friday is best day
1988 was when I exited Transformers as a teen, so I never got this guy, but the Earthrise one looks cool, I've pre-ordered it.
My "want" is the reverse of yours. I reacquired a box of my old toys, and my collection is getting current releases of the toys I still have. I was so happy when the Earthrise version of this one was announced!
My only problem is that I didn't pack the box, so it didn't contain everything. I'm still missing Skar. :(

LOl loved that skit I have Ko version of Him It no got both power masters and you not need either to transform him But I still like it a cool toy to have on my shelf I leave him in Autobot mode cause it takes up less room. All in all a great G1 figure looking forwad to the Earthrise version too.

The first time I heard of him was not so long ago ... the Japanese G1 collection with Headmaster Chojinmasterforce and Victory. Double was kind of cool. When he says God On his suit would change either the Decepticon or Autobot

If I remember rightly, the missile warhead was supposed to go on the shoulder of the humanoid mode per instructions, with the back half being a hand weapon.
