Does anyone else feel that Broadside is the most underrated triple changer. I mean I can only think of one 3rd party remake and only one remake in titans return.
Nah hes about as fairly rated as he needs to be. Broadside isn't particularly good

Nah. His character was screwed up from the start since he turns into a jet and aircraft carrier, but is afraid of Water and heights. That's just dumb. Plus, his G1 toy sucks arse.
Broadside: I can't tolerate heights or the sea.

just imagine him sliding on the ground towards you at mach speed yelling "DREAD IT! RUN FROM IT! DESTINY ALWAYS ARRIVES!" in a deep robotic berserker voice as he swings his axe up and down like a madman
I totally remember as a young child gloating over those old Transformers checklists late at night! I remember opening its folded creases, getting lost in a distant metallic world of awe inspiring heavy metal robots, and falling asleep dreaming of the evil yet attractive Megatron battling the heroic role model Optimus Prime, along with Starscream and the jets... ahhh those were the days!

Before Armada Scavenger, there was G1 Broadside, the original Transformers brick.
I can imagine that, if I had this toy as a kid, it'd be my favourite ever because of the sound of the cockpit spring. It reminds me of springy doorstops.

For some reason I keep seeing Broadside as the Autobots' answer to Astrotrain. It would be interesting to see, as Astrotrain thrives on panic and fear, yet Broadside is a complete coward.
That axe actually look really nice for a G1 weapon. How come we didn’t get one with the Titans Return figure
I've been using Combiner Wars Ironhide's axe for mine. In jet mode, it plugs into the "engine brick" handle out as a gun; in carrier mode, it's kind of awkward but will plug into the underside at an angle.

As a weird and block-looking jet, he still looks more like a jet than Titans Return Broadside.
Also, I've seen more complicated Go-bot conversions! The one character aside from the Titan sized figures that require THE most imagination relative to his alt-mode functions (i.e. aircraft carrier). All that being said.....I actually do own this figure 'cause he's PRECIOUS!! He's the only G1 autobot triple-changer I do own actually, and alongside Blitzwing he's the only other triple-changer in my G1 collection.

For being literally nothing more than a brick with arms and wings, I loved good ol' G1 Broadside as a kid...
I always imagined Broadside was literally just a proof of concept, with the intent to make a robot and jet mode more in line with Springer, Sandstorm, and the others - then they ran out of time, and had to submit what they had.
Weirdly enough they had a better prototype up on catalogs
Broadside is my favorite Autobot triple changer. I think it's because of the awkward difference of his alt modes. I got the titans return version but I'm hoping hasbro or a third party company will make another. Broadside needs more love

A buddy of mine who had this figure growing up explained his transformation to me as "Stand him up, lay him down, flip him over, go make a sandwich." and yeah, I can totally see it! I really need to track this guy down sometime. I just love a weird bot.

That's one of the checklists I've drooled upon Predaking back when I was young..combiners/gestalts are my favorite G1 lineup..thank goodness for reissues, I got one last 2010.. 😄

g1 aside, there's a brave series figure called seven changer that has 7 modes, twin bareled tank, panther, griffon, jet, submarine, semi truck trailer and robot
Ahh Broadside, the only autobot to single handedly crush devastator.
That's not the greatest achievement in engineering ever for a G1 figure. I'll just not ever want him ever.

When I got this toy second hand as a kid alway thought it was miss bits. As it looked so strange in airplane mode haha. here I am 25 years later and the bloody thing was complete 😂

I kept mine complete and minty my whole childhood. Along with many other figures I meant to keep it forever. One day my senior year of high school, I came home and my dad had thrown away EVERYTHING.
It's been almost 20 years and I still haven't forgiven him.
If you're concerned about scratches than take a look at Plexus. I've seen it do some pretty good things on light scratches and scuffs, especially on transparent plastic (I use it often on optical media). Since you're planning on replacing the stickers anyway, that would be a perfect opportunity to give him a touch up.
Pick it up online or from motorcycle shops (they use it on helmets). It's not all that cheap but it's been worth it in my experience, and it seems to last a long time.
Oh man the memories...I had this guy growing up. In robot mode he was basically just a brick statute, but I loved his 2 alt modes. There needs to be a MP of this.
Been a saying that for years! I want a triple changing Masterpiece figure like Astrotrain. But one that ain’t going to break the bank trying to buy one.

He is the most ironic character in Transformers history. It really makes you wonder why he chose those alt-modes in the first place? Silverbolt had a similar problem but had a good explanation, he was built from a jet that never flew all that high. What's Broadside's excuse?
He chose those modes precisely to face his fear of heights and his sea sickness, in his old stats he has 9/10 courage and he is one of the Wreckers, the most die-hard and toughest autobots.

The Jet mode does look a bit strange, but I still think the Titans Return version has a weirder Jet mode, with the backwards looking tail section.

What the hell, an aircraft carrier but its too small..hehe..i once had this toy..its pretty solid, combination of dyecast metal and hardplastic.
Honestly, he pulls off the jet mode far better than his TR counterpart.
The guy who designed him was just a part-time employee, so...😅😪🤧😷
