See, "Double/Dealer" is so sneaky, Even his own binary bonded (Dual) partners don't know he's playing both sides for greater profit, let alone know that another powermaster partner even exists.

i actually always thought it was a vulture. IN my old chinese bootleg, it is written that he does turn to vulture. So, it seems its logic to be a vulture fro everyone.
He looks ridiculous in bird form, in a totally awesome endearing way. It's amazing how the blocky, mechanical-minded aesthetic of G1 still kind of holds up, especially with the added engineering.

Doubledealer is a mercenary not a decepticon
Punch/Counterpunch is purely an auto it with the occasional mental health issue where Counterpunch tries to become his own being.

The boxy part is a radar, more than likely to guide the huge-large missile.
I don't thinks it is mate as he fires ICBM's which I'm pretty sure guide them self's, I'd say that's an active protection system linked to the smoke launchers

A great update to the G1 toy and that little square is a Radar of sorts, I would of love to of seen a Skit with him and counterpunch/punch meeting on both sides.
That sounds like a full feature movie I'd love to see
I've watched multiple reviews of this toy, only you, emgo, gave a sufficiently detailed explanation of the transformation that I could do it. Thank you! This thing was frustrating as hell, my first copy popped a knee joint and the leg fell off. I had to return it for a new one. Those legs needed a better joint design! Never stop the meticulous, detailed transformation descriptions.

I think you are the only reviewer who has found out a use for the engine part. He is the my next must have figure I have Jetfire, Optimus Prime (Earthrise) and Sky Lynx
PrimevPrime showed it in his review as well.
Patriot Prime showed it as well. He also showed that you can turn the chest piece around in robot mode and have Knok showing with the engine piece plugged on him so you can get the full G1 attached look. XD
Literally just bought this toy and I'm excited that it's actually leader sized this time around rather than a voyager class figure with extra parts!
I'm surprised you didn't split the missile for his bird mode. Still a pretty sweet figure!

If they made any bigger he would have been commander class. Leader class is like somewhere between commander class and voyager class (although it is closer to voyager class).

Matthew Elliott Actually leader classes are smaller than commander classes. Commander class figures are about the same size of a combiner wars combiner.
The old leader classes were way better. They used to be the size of commander classes.
I'm not a huge fan of the downsizing of Leaders either, but at least Doubledealer here is actually slightly taller than Optimus and Megatron AND he's much more massive. There is actually extra plastic in the figure, as opposed to Astrotrain who needed an entire folding plastic box to justify his price point.
Thanks for sharing! Great stuff. The engineering that goes into these Transformers is quite freaking amazing. Used to own a lot of G1's. Thinking of getting a few earthrises. They remind me of my old G1's.

Yeah like here in Italy the distribution is soooo bad...in the stores they are still movie toys and Cyberverse, a little bit of Combiner Wars and Titan Return here and there...but Earthrise, Siege I bought them on Amazon ore Ebay, maybe now with the show on Netflix there will be more effort but yeeeah no way I can find them in stores(even big stores, comic stores forget it! You can find some masterpiece but they're insanely expensive)

Fantastic updated figure. Accessories all make sense and have genuine purpose, and I like how technically the bird wings would work in bot mode giving him the appearance of an arch angel. Only additional detail I would have added is the the red to bring out the wheels more. Those shorts at the end never get old. Long time fan of the additional humor/effort.
Literally have been looking a different versions of this character and Emgo drops this video in xD

I am loving the earthrise figures. So many of the figures are so well done. My sons who had gotten bored with the figures they were putting out are now interfered in TFs again even though they are now high schoolers.

Skar can be plugged underneath the ramp in vehicle mode for a hidden/ cleaner storage

I like to imagine Doubledealer is like a reverse Punch/Counterpunch. Whereas Punch is on the Autobots side with a Decepticon robot mode, Doubledealer is a Decepticon (with a humanoid robot mode) that can change his signature to any Autobot sensor system.

One of my favorite toys from G1. They took the Powermaster gimmick and Punch's gimmick and combined it all to make a really cool toy with three neat looking alt modes.

Im late to the party wity Doubledealer as just picked him up today at a toy show. Missed out on him early on while i was focusing on different figures for the collection. Happy i found him at a good price and looking forward to unboxing and the transformation.

Wow, I remember having the G1 version of this when I was a kid! I always used him as a monster for my Power Ranger Megazord to fight 🤣. God I wish i knew those things would be collectable back then. I would have never given all of my old stuff to my little brother, who basically just destroyed them all over time.
that little box thing he comes with is a radar,probably for detecting aircraft and such as he is an anti aircraft missile truck

That square with the grey panel is either a high powered radar for the ICBM targeting and what not. Or it’s a small trophy system to protect the missile from being shot or blown up accidentally.

I will say, the Falcon mode is an improvement of the G1 version. At least you don't have to see the missile in between it's legs.
I have G1 Doubledealer. I saw this new one at the store and had to have it but couldn't get it at the time. Now I can't find him anywhere.

That unknown part must be a sensor for the missile.
Does anyone know how to fix a ratchet joint after the screw head popped off? I just got mp13 Soundwave and the ratchet joint spring on his left thigh popped off and I'm wondering if anybody knows how to fix it. I can put it back on, but it's really loose.

Thanks for doing this Transformers review. I like how this version of Double Dealer looks, but I personally don't like the color scheme. Too bad Hasbro didn't use the heat activated gimmick for his Transformers symbol.

I call Doubledealer, Apeface, Snapdragon, Titans Return Alpha Trion and Punch / Counterpunch reverse triple changers. 2 sentient modes and one alternate disguise mode.
If I had painting skills I would even make Apeface and Snapdragon into Junkions to be a nod to Kong and Godzilla.
