Really surprised to see different engineering here and not just an upscale of MP36! Cleaner and looks like he's easier to transform than Takara's. Wow.
Weijiang always does that. They turned Mpm Prime into a KO that was so modified that it could pretty much pass off as it's own figure until somebody played with it.
i can assure you it's hellish to transform not because of the complexity but just for the sheer force you have to apply in each step in order to get the extremely tight joints to budge
This thing is a nightmare, even compared to MP-36! I would rather spend the day doing MP-36 over and over than transforming this thing again. It is kind of over-engineered, imo, but hey, if you like it, I say it's all good! Snobbish collectors bug me. You do you mate. 👍
What's most interesting to me about this fig is that's it's a rare piece of original engineering from WJ and they've managed to make the torso transformation cleverer and simpler in large scale than any other company.

This will look awesome with my MPP-10. I'm quite impressed with the engineering, how it incorporates the stock into the robot mode and how the little silencer becomes lazerbeak.
Doh! When I saw the thumbnail, I thought for a second that weijiang made an undersized version. Wishful thinking... Would love this mold to be in scale with MPs!
Before I saw this I thought “A new Wei Jiang figure?”. Then Emgo said “It’s an older figure.” and I realized it wasn’t. The figure looks awesome though. It’s one of the best third party Megs’ I seen.
I hate ignorant people calling Wei Jiang NE-01 Megamaster an oversized KO of MP-36 Megatron. When it doesn't share anything from MP-36 and has an entirely different transformation!!
Its nice to see all this old new stock become available, for it was an opportunity to pick up Hide shadow at a decent price. It is a shame Wei Jiang were shut down last summer. I missed out on a lot of nice figures they put out. Would have liked to get their Omega Supreme.
I got the MPP10, their omega, and another one (can't remember at the moment!). I didn't realize they did this one. Picked him up at TF Safari. The gun mode looks horrible IMO, but the bot mode is clean and sharp. Thanks for reviewing this one Emgo!
It's like an addiction. I told myself I'm just going to get this one and the Prime, display them, and stop there. 3 years and a dozen rubber maid storage bins later I find that false.
Not sure if on the comments but you can put Lazerbeak on megs left forearm. He has magnet in his feet and metal in the forearm panel. Pose Straight from the movie. I love this figure. Thanks for as always a great review Emgo. Best channel by a mile:)
I don’t have this, but have seen other previous reviews of it. From the other reviews of Laserbeak they said there is a magnet at the base of his feet and can be put on Megatron’s left arm. There is metal strip on his arm that should allow the magnet of Laserbeak to attach to it.
I typically don't got for Third Party, but the scale of Megamaster has promise for future releases. If Wei Jiang did a Mega scale version of Astrotrain, then that would be cool.
I'm a gun enthusiast, and I can assure you that this thing is definitely way bigger than an actual Walther P38, which is a rather small handgun. The P38's original purpose for the Wehrmacht was to be a service pistol, and service pistols are generally made to be small and easy to carry for self defense or as a backup weapon. You don't see a lot of these types of guns in the baggage for a front-line infantryman.
This gun mode is larger than almost every actual hand gun I've seen irl. And I work at a gun store lmao I also have the figure so I can speak from experience lol

I have this figure. Both the robot mode and alt mode are great, but a transformation isn't quite. As you see many pegs are too tight, I have to use screwdriver to crack them apart.

#EMGO316 Unlike the guy who insulted you, May I kindly suggest on the Spring loaded hook at time index 12:20 use something like a 7 inch long piece of Fishing line or a Couple strands of Sewing thread, Lift the hook slide the string around it then let it fold in. THEN as you bring the Hip and leg into position pull the String on both ends Lift the hook, and slide it in place. once it catches carefully pull the Fishing line (or thread out)
I got that mpp10 optimus it was my first third party bot i got him and the trailer back when you could trust a few people on eBay. He is still as nice and tight as the day i got him. Him and his trailer very nice.

I think Wei Jiang Megamaster would be a good replacement for MP-05 masterpiece Megatron. True Megamaster is a little taller,but he looks a lot better next to MP-01 Optimus Prime. That's just my opinion.
Mine broke in the same exact spot!!! But instead of the pin missing, the plastic hinge fell off!!! If I am careful it doesn't interfere, but it still sucks!!! Only, problem with my figure after 2+ years!
Not at all, the suppressor is too stubby and more comparable to a muzzle break. There might not have been a suppressor that looks like the original one but theoretically it would actually work to suppress noise.

Generally I consider unnecessarily complicated transformation steps "overengineered codpieces", but in this case it actually is an overengineered codpiece. LOL
He’s a great figure. It’s probably the first original transformer Weijiang designed. It borrowed a bit of elements from the mp release but it’s basically a third party figure. Too bad weijiang didn’t continue in that path and produce more original figures. One thing to be aware of is that it’s plastic is a bit on the weaker side. So you have to be really careful when you transform him. Using magnet to keep the laser beak on his forearm is a genius move tho, and I wish that happen more often on other figures
You can find the symbol insert on ebay or AliExpress. Same for the Auotbot symbol. You forgot the magnet that allows Lazerbeak to firmly stay on Megs left arm.
Fyi there is a magnet in lazer beaks foot and one in megs arm so he can perch on megs arm

At least in my version, Megatron's left arm has a magnet in it that Lazerbeak will attach to.
Actually Laserbeak attaches to the arm via a Magnet! You just place him on the arm and he sticks!
They did really well with including Laserbeak and clever how they incorporated him.

I don't think my 8-years old self in 1980's would able to transform this Megatron.
I wish they had this in an MP scale, then the gun mode might actually be close to proper P38 size.

Honestly, the way the suppressor attaches on this figure is more realistic than the extension... shroud... suppressor... THING on the original.

hi, laserbeak has a Magnet on the bottom to place on megatron's left arm. Greetings
