If I were to get this figure, I immediately want to do a head swap with Skywarp, mostly because of the screaming face sculpt being perfect for _he who is about to die._
That is a brilliant idea, but I'd also do a head swap with Earthrise Starscream, since the coronation version has the cartoon accurate gun-metal gray face.
I really wish this version of Starscream had the "oh how it paints me to do this" smirk/grin similar to siege thundercracker. Such a missed opportunity to have all 3 seekers with different faces.
it's nice that they gave us a "budget" and readily available version of a coronation starscream but this definitely doesn't feel like a SS86 figure by any means.

The extra details aren't nearly as noticeable on him, besides, when comparing him to ALL the other figures, Starscream just doesn't quite cut the mustard. But again, it's nice that they've given us an option that's actually attainable.
I mostly want him because I already have SS86 Galvatron. Why not get the set? Also, I really want the ER Seeker mold. I have Siege and Bayverse, or Tetrajet and F-22 Raptor. I want the F-15 Eagle
This is hands down one of the best mainline figures ever. While displayed on a stand in alt mode, he's a masterpiece. Thank you Hasbro for this excellent "86 Starscream".
This is my first starscream figure since Siege, and GOD I love him. Even though I know it's just the Earthrise figure playing dress-up with a 20 dollar addon kit, which in turn makes it an upscaled Classics figure playing dress-up, I just cannot see past the sheer royalty this lad's got. Hell, I even kept the box and its insert for this figure, which I haven't done since I bought MP-36.
I keep all of my boxes as long as they come with a plastic tray the figure fis into or are an enclosed box. It makes moving less painful if I can put the figure and all accessories into a box.
Thanks for the save, preorder cancelled! The 3D printed cape, throne, crown, and pads will stay on my 17 dollar clearance earthrise screamer. If they made it a package with dirge and ramjet I would have bit but this is just an add on kit that is available free to print on the internet.

I found him at target last week too. On the one hand, I feel like a sucker for buying a voyager figure at a leader price, but on the other hand, I don't care because he still looks awesome, and I love the Earthrise Seeker mold. I think I've gotten every Earthrise Seeker made to date including the main six, Sandstorm, and G2 Ramjet. Why stop now when I'm already so far down the rabbit hole?
It’s not exactly appropriate for Studio Series, though, is it? Because Starscream had a totally different animation model in that scene, and what’s strange is nobody ever talks about it.
Yeah, his model was quite the departure from his standard model, it's most likely due to them redoing the entire model for the coronation scene rather than trying to add to the already existing model. Still love the model though.
It’s interesting that all the other Jet-formers still look normal. I’ve always wondered if Starscream got some sort of body upgrade, like when Hotrod becomes Rodimus Prime.
I did. I always found it crazy how Starscream looked so much cooler in that scene. I can't tell if he was upgraded or if the animators simply chose to make him more bulky and angular.
I may be biased toward Starscream reviews to start with, but you breathe life into him and play with him as you show him off, almost like he’s alive and interrupting you. Makes me giggle every time.
I can say the crown does fit better on my copy but can still easily come off, so if you have it in a backpack or something it will pop off, but if it's sitting on a table than it's perfectly fine. Also you have his shoulder pads reversed. The smooth side should be facing the back.

Due to an error with GameStop's system and the gift card I used, my preorder was cancelled when it was ready to ship, with the promise that there were enough in stock for me to reorder, and in the 7 days it took to get the issue corrected, they lowered the price, sold out, got more in, and sold out again... so I have the credit for this at GameStop, but will have to pay another company and wait longer to actually receive it. Grrrrrr!
This is actually my first proper Transformers figure. I love it so much! (I have a little D-style Starscream which is one of those model making kits so it doesn't really count). My only small gripe is that one of the wings are a little loose but it was still well worth it :)
After learning how short Starscream's coronation was and offed real quick, this is enough reason why his coronation gear in Masterpiece is limited by buying the OG Seeker trio 2.0 in Takara Tomy Mall (not Hasbro Pulse, TT Mall and nowhere else).
Well seeing is how R.E.D line did a reformetting Megatron, hopefully we get a dead starscream with the "screaming/painful/gasping expression on his face XD

The very least Hasbro could do with 86 starscream is get rid of all the extra detailing that came with original version of the mold. Instead they just 're released the toy with a crown and a cape.

Great review, getting him for sure, i really like Coronation Screamer. He will never sit on the throne, my SIEGE Megs will be parking his mechanical butt on that throne. Nothing beats double nipple bloosh.

I'm pretty late to be posting this, but I find it highly disappointing that they simply reused the Earthrise Starcream for this figure. When first I heard that they were making a Coronation Starscream, I was excited to see a whole new figure. A new mold that had a waist swivel, wrist rotation, a less wide look, a torso that isn't gappy, more red armor around the hips, and better arm movement to aim the null rays. Siege Starcream has all of these features, interestingly enough. It's just not as G1 accurate. Instead Hasbro and Takara gave us this okay figure. I like the accessories it comes with, and it's probably great for people who don't have a Generations Starscream, but I'm good with my Earthrise Starscream for now. Hopefully in the future Hasbro can give us a more definitive Starscream, even without the Coronation set.

Just so everyone is aware, there are spots on the throne for the cape, extra null rays, shoulder pads, and the crown. It shows this in the instruction booklet but may be hard to see.
Weird. Looking at mine (which I FINALLY found today), it looks like they're packing the Earthrise version, as my Screamer's fingers do not open up and his tailfins have got the white and red stripes.
Oooooo so close to an MP reference lol (MP-11 Starscream) definitely not a deal breaker, but it would be a fun nod if this figure were #11 in the '86 line

I appreciate the attention to detail but these new transformers are packed tight. I had Thundercracker back in the day and it was way easier to transform. I’m afraid I’m going to break this thing.
I kinda wish they'd gone with the more cartoon-style Decepticon symbol, I prefer the more squared proportions that version has. Otherwise I'll be getting him to display in his full regalia and keep ER plain. Or maybe plane. Okay Galvatron in cannon mode in the background of the wrap-up killed me.
I've just recently started watch The Transformers original (G1) cartoon again. I was watching it a few years back and got partly through season 2, I think, and stopped. (don't recall why, though) I do think I'll add G1 figures to my collection, but I'm thinking of limiting them to the Studio Series. I think they're the most show/movie accurate. (correct me if I'm wrong)
only got this figure because he was cheaper than the earthrise one on amazon and it came with a bunch of extra cool stuff and moving fingers. (I did miss out on the earthrise one)
I just got mine through the mail, and the only issue is that one of the wings popped off in transit. Other than that easily fixed issue, it was perfect. Also, the crown not staying on the throne is not present on my copy

Yeah the mold doesn't look animation accurate at all, way to many details, needs to be much more clean.

I appreciate the attention to detail but these new transformers are packed tight. I had Thundercracker back in the day and it was way easier to transform. I’m afraid I’m going to break this thing.

I kinda wish they'd gone with the more cartoon-style Decepticon symbol, I prefer the more squared proportions that version has. Otherwise I'll be getting him to display in his full regalia and keep ER plain. Or maybe plane.

I've just recently started watch The Transformers original (G1) cartoon again.
I was watching it a few years back and got partly through season 2, I think, and stopped. (don't recall why, though)
I do think I'll add G1 figures to my collection, but I'm thinking of limiting them to the Studio Series.
I think they're the most show/movie accurate.

only got this figure because he was cheaper than the earthrise one on amazon and it came with a bunch of extra cool stuff and moving fingers. (I did miss out on the earthrise one)

I just got mine through the mail, and the only issue is that one of the wings popped off in transit. Other than that easily fixed issue, it was perfect. Also, the crown not staying on the throne is not present on my copy
