      Not to be a downer, but it does not seem like true full immersion. Yes, you can't bend over backwards but you can definitely fall or lie on your back or your front, does not seem like that is included with this kind of setup as your central point is fixed and you're sort of sitting on it?

    • @fedyx1544
      @fedyx1544 Год назад +45

      @@SnakeHelah full immersion is simply impossible without a cable sending video signals directly to your brain. Even the most advanced vr setups will always limit you in your range of movement in some way, not only that but there is an inherent risk to having force feedback cause it has the potential to hurt people if calibrated and programmed badly. We must make do with what we have I fear.

I mean, the sophistication of such a device would mean it probably costs billions of dollars as emulating games or experiences inside your own brain sounds like pure science fiction.
      The only thing I'm envisioning that's feasible is some kind of manipulation that lulls your brain into a dream-like state, but you're awake enough to control it or something.

Plus software to correlate the hip and foot tracking for locomotion, but I feel like this would allow full movement (maybe even some yoga poses level of flexible) while still also allowing you to use feet to move. Like telepresence, recording and experiencing other peoples full body recordings which could train you or be therapeutic, or as a workout device, to nteracting waay more intimately across distance with other users or the real world . I can see people spending 10k on a system like this since it solves so much in one thing, or even lease it like a car. Even as a vegas attraction or hourly reservation, you get people hooked very fast i think, plus really entertaining twitch/youtube streaming material. This platform spine support should have a vertical y axis movement. So it moves up and down via spring systems as you walk around, this way it can help you feel full range of natural mechanics of walking. Otherwise you'll feel like your stuck to a stick, which is exactly what it is, but the sensation of it can be minimized by having he spine tube at the base be a bit more springy moving up and down

    Great video Thrill! I got into VR the first week of Covid due to movie theaters closing. I’m a filmmaker and I generally go there the theaters once a week if I can. When I heard you could go to the movies in VR, I jumped on the VR train that same day. I now feel as it for many things, including gaming with family members who live in different states which is incredible to be able to do. Watching movies with family/friends is also such a special feeling. My as for you with your new BigScreen prototype is this: Can you watch a movie with your quest 2 using the bigscreen app, and then watch another movie with the new bigscreen headset and tell me(us) if there really is a huge difference in experience. I don’t have any previous vr hardware except for my quest 2 and my pc, so this would be a big investment. If the visuals are worth it, it’s something I would consider. Thank you for being awesome, I love your videos!

    And whom am I. I am the OG of VR guys. Been doing VR on a steady basis since 2012. Dev Kit 1, Rift, Valve Index, Quest 2, so as you can see I am crazy for the Tech and PSVR 2 has at the moment, knocked VR out of the ballpark.

    I know this is a longshot, but a cool game to try would be KINGSPRAY GRAFFITI. There is a community behind the simulator and since the devs have left us hanging (for basically years at this point...with no communication) we started making our own maps and trying to fix / figure out what we can with what we got. I would love to see how this game look and feels on the Bigscreen Beyond ✌

    As someone who wants the beyond for VRChat full body tracking, the only thing I'd really ask is to test how well it pairs and tracks with different full body tracking trackers and the valve index controllers. But you were probably gunna do that anyway.

    1) space between the eyes and lenses (those of us with luscious lashes could oil up the lenses)
