    I don't recommend the Beyond to most people. Especially if you're not a SteamVR user already (upgrading from Index or Vive)It's very expensive and something like the Quest does 85% of this Headset's job for way cheaper.
    !!!!!!!!!!! BUT If you want the best displays and form factor available though.. well, cough up a kidney. It's good. REAL GOOD.
    I should also mention: for people needing a prescription the Beyond has magnetic prescription lens inserts that you can order from them. No need for glasses underneath. Still;
    Thank you so much for watching! Can't wait to get the Quest 3 on hand. Much love

      Can I ask you for the weight on those? They could do something as easy as what Bobo and Quests does. With the battery on the back of the strap to power it, then use it with wifi in the future, to make it wireless. They aint bad on a wifi 6 connection

      You act like SteamVR users are rare, but out of the four people I know with VR headsets, two are Steam only, one is a Rift S user who mixes and matches his purchases on both steam and the Oculus store, and only one doesn't use SteamVR at all because he has a Quest. The 1.6% of users on Steam's hardware survey with VR headsets are people who have their headset plugged in when the survey triggers. Personally I keep mine unplugged in the box when I'm not using it. Meanwhile, Quest may have a lot of units sold, but how many of them are sitting on a shelf? Compare Horizon World's to VRChat. VRChat peaks at 37,000 peak online in a given moment. Horizon Worlds gets 200,000 unique users...in an entire month.
      I think PC VR has a bigger share of the pie than Meta's stats would have you believe.

      You know that eye tracking is worthless unless the software utilizes it? That's the huge problem. Foveated Rendering would, without exaggeration, revolutionize rendering. Only a small fraction of currently-required GPU power would be necessary to render the same image.
      But the GPU driver at the least is required to support it, and ideally the game engine as well in order to maximize the benefits. Neither NVIDIA nor AMD see any short-term benefit to supporting such a technology.

    I'm so exited to see a company pursuing PCVR again. I've got nothing against standalone, and I'm sure it's a necessary feature for anything with mass appeal, but I'm not the average consumer, I'm a nerd with a PC and an interest in escapism
    After falling in love with VR with the Vive back in 2017 it has felt weird to see the entire industry pivot towards features and use-cases that I frankly couldn't care less about. Nothing exemplifies this more than Meta's whole sales pitch about working in VR - I cannot overstate how unappealing that sounds to me
    Outside of literal children, the core userbase of VR seems to be simmers, escapists, and social VR users (furries and weebs, mostly). Does Meta's corporate leadership sound like they fit into any of those categories? It seems to me like the industry is being led by people that don't even use VR. It's no wonder why the retention rate on the Quest 2 is so low
    So thank goodness Bigscreen is here to make something that actually solves the problems I run into on a daily basis with my headset. It absolutely won't appeal to everyone, but that's fine. I'd rather buy a product that's great for me rather than mediocre for everyone

      Look up VR wire. Any "pully" system will be a big improvement, but this one is by far and away the best. Since I got mine, I've often forgotten about the wire entirely. There is basically zero tug, since this thing actually uses a pulley system that allows the cable to glide, unlike the majority of more common competitors that are just a chain of retractors fixed to the wire. Only when I have turned in such a way I kinda rub against it on the side of my head, and now there's a cable guide on its way to me right now (for free, offered to all previous purchasers when it was released, the company owner is amazing and THE most customer-first person I have EVER communicated with) to address that edge problem.
      Bottom line, I truly feel like I don't need wireless with this, and is in fact SUPERIOR to wireless because no extra weight/bulk of an adapter (whether 3rd party or built in), and no display compression. And more minorly, don't need a super powerful router (many people probably already have).

    I've been out of the VR space for about a year, its awesome seeing how far the tech has come in that time. I just want something that is a direct upgrade from my Index, with the addition of eye tracking, without having to sacrifice too much elsewhere. I get the feeling the only HMD that will hit that mark is whatever Valve is working on, but who knows which lifetime that will be.

    - no eyetracking (i heavily depend on full face tracking as an Avatar creator)

    - price
    but im certain future headsets will become realy good allrounders aswell as being small, super excited for the future

    I feel it should be noted: the Varjo areo got it's price price put down to $1000. It has many of this headsets features, with good diplays, and also doesn't have built in audio (or microphone sadly). What it does have is nice quality lenses and displays, along with built in eye tracking and auto IPD adjustment. It is bulkier and heavier, along with needing it's own software, so it's not perfect. Unless you are exeptionally active, and really want the light weight, I personally recommend the Varjo Areo over the Bigscreen for the pric point.

    Hey Thrill, here's something you never covered that I'm curious about as someone who lives in a very hot climate during the summer months.
    For my Index, it is an absolute MUST that I have the kiwi radiator fan accessory plugged in to cool the headset down and in turn help me to avoid overheating.
    The Beyond being so small implies to me that it either has no fans, or they have to be very tiny. But as far as I can tell, there are no moving parts. So, for extended periods of use (i.e. drinking nights, sleeping, raves, etc.) in games like VRChat, will this headset cause an Arizona man to get heat stroke during the month of August?

      @markkovalcson7243 Год назад +1

      @@imblocker Yes, The Aero moves on my face in room scale games and bounces around in my motion sim in Rally. That breaks immersion for me pretty badly. That is by far the biggest reason. They are about a wash in terms of FOV. The Aero has a little more horizontal and the BSB a little more vertical. The BSB has better color and much better blacks. The Aero has no glare. The BSB has no moire or potential red shift issues.
      For audio the Aero has a 1/8" jack which works if you have an efficient pair of headphones. The BSB takes a USB-C DAC which is more flexible, or you can go wireless for both of them.
      The bottom line is that although the Aero is a comfortable headset, it won't stay still against my face and the weight is an issue at times.
      Also dynamic foveated rendering for the Aero is really only good in DCS. For other titles it doesn't amount to much because DFR has VERY poor support, so most titles will not take advantage of it.

    Made it 15 seconds in. Had to ask: Why are you wearing a large particle mask? Someone doing yard work near you or something? We have a Valve Index and a Quest 2. Quest 2 gets used all the time for Beat Saber and a couple other games. Index collects dust.
    The Valve Index is heavy on our heads and its heavy cord make it challenging. Even when we hang the cord from the kit we got from Amazon, the cord still pulls against you or brushes against you if you move up or down or sideways. Sometimes the games on Steam put you incorrectly facing the wrong way or too close or below the floor like on the boxing game.
    Anyway, thanks for the video. Glad to see innovation still happening the VR space.

    Has the microphone supplier been revealed at all? If it is that good, I wonder if it is used on any other products, like headsets, or if it is completely bespoke to the Beyond.

    I’ve been wanting a PC focused VR headset for awhile, and now I’m stuck between two choices:
    Pimax Crystal
    Or
    Big Screen Beyond
    The big screen beyond is more comfortable and offers far better tracking. However, as he said in the video, you need to buy the controllers and base stations separately.Plus it doesn’t have any extra features.
    Meanwhile, the Pimax Crystal comes with everything you need in one package, including eye and face tracking. But that comes at the cost of the controllers not having awesome tracking.
    Both are awesome, but both have their downsides, and I can’t decide for the life of me which is best for me 😅

    I genuinely cannot get into VR due to the comfort issues posed by most headsets.I've tried since the Quest 1 and it's just impossible for me. It's amazing seeing what the Beyond has accomplished and I hope one day it can be more accessible to the consumer base. Thanks for the upload and non-biased review.
