One of the very best players alive today. His absolute SOVEREIGN COMMAND of piano technique is astonishung, even in a world filled as it is with great young virtuosi. Shishkin manages at once to be brilliant, powerful, exquisitely sensitive and heartbreakingly beautiful. A rare accomplishment that.

This ballade is so underrated ! Dmitry offers us a majestic playing, which is difficult to know if it comes from his interpretation or from the piece itself...

I think that the piano has an ideal sound for Bach Mozart or Beethoven, but it suonds a bit harsh for Chopin's music.. Especially in the forte

@@leonf4721 but more seriously, I read Chopin loved the piano pleyel, and that some pieces of other composers sounded horrible on pleyel, that's maybe why. Chopin composed with the piano pleyel.

Obviously as I can see, you play much better by showing your amazing performances of a quarter of a 4th ballade cut in two videos because you couldn't put it in one. 👌👌

'Very poor playing?' An atonal listener below posted... Very strange uptake. Quite good, actually, but Aime Kobayashi's rendition is a bit cleaner with better pedal use and near perfect rubato. Still, this is formidable - despite the somewhat "sectionalized" coda;-)

  • @josephlaredo5272

Oh, no, this is all too prosaic. Where is the poetry? It might be good piano playing, but as for music making ... Sorry, Dmitry (and everyone who thinks he's wonderful).
