    The rake is for those of us that use a truck as a truck to compensate when we have a load in the bed and/or towing. Example: When I have 20 sheets of drywall (1,100 lbs give or take) you ride level and can still maintain control, front suspension is not extended, front wheels still firmly on the ground and headlights pointing way up in the air.

  • @aquaman0167

    Good video. Very straightforward.
    The rake may help gas mileage but I’m pretty sure the real reason for the rake is so the truck sits level when it’s loaded. With a leveled truck, the truck is going to squat when it’s loaded. The front end is going to point up more.
    I have a 2019 single cab and I’m not going to level mine or change tire size. But I can see why someone would want to.

    • @robj.973
      @robj.973 3 года назад

      Correct !
      The rake has nothing to do with gas mileage. It’s so when your hooked up to a loaded down trailer the truck levels out

    • @jjames9816
      @jjames9816 3 года назад

      That's what I was wondering. I have seen some that as they tighten the lower shock bolts it just rotates the bracket instead of compressing the strut and rotating the cap. I may try it if it doesn't work then I can always compress it but I'd prefer not to if not necessary.

    So.... Most videos with this level... Including ready lift makes you either rotate the top hat or put the 2 bottoms studs in a vice to change the angle of the strut so its goes back into the control arm at the correct angle.... I noticed in this video, you just slapped on the new levelling kit (Which changes the stud locations on the top) and installed. No harm in that?

    Do you think a 2.5 front level with a 2 inch rear block (1.5 is stock) would be close to level? My truck had a bit of squat with just the 2.5 front level. I installed a 3 inch block in the rear but It’s got 1-1.5 inches of rake now. I would think if I go with a 2 inch block it should be close?

    1- the measurements are all wrong you said before job: front 35 1/4 and rear 37 1/2 then after job done (+2 1/2) should be front 37 3/4 and you measured 37 1/2 so you are missing 1/4 on an inch. The rear was never measured again, when you lift the front, the rear bumper drops a little, also i think it is a good idea to take measurements from the bottom of the wheel (rim) because the tire in the front is supporting more weight and closer to the ground, you should show the truck profile side view after the fact, good video overall in the procedures.
