    Just finished the installation, 3.5 hours all in. Only real issue I had was that I could not get access to the rear control arm nut due to being impeded by the sway bar bracket, put a jack stand under the sway bar, removed the bracket and Bob's your uncle, access granted. Had video playing during the process, really helped. Thank you.

    You keep calling the breaker bar a “pry bar” is driving me nuts.

    Great video. Great let’s list. Lower control arm is a pain to get back on. Wish your video showed your struggle as you seemed to cut right to it fitting even after using a 2x4 to make it work. We ended up with three ratcheting straps to help pull it into position, the emergency Jack and big Jack to lift. Hardest part and most time spent on.

    I watched your other video that shows you completely removing the knuckle and disengaging the 4wheel drive with a vacuum pump. I have a 2018 4x4 and I'm DIY installing 2" RC leveling spacers tomorrow. Now I don't know whether to completely remove the knuckle like you did in that video, or unbolt the LCA like you did in this video.

    I like this guys skill - but wouldn’t it make sense to take the knuckle and hub assembly out of the ball joint to access the strut as opposed to prying the control arm to get the strut out ? Because that seems a lot easier then you don’t have to mess with taking the control arm bolts out ? maybe not idk just me thinking after install - both ways would still need an alignment. Let me know what you guys think @AmericanTrucksFord

Not a big deal but no need to compress and turn hat. Had these on for a year and work fine, 295/60r20 w little trimming

    Does this void the FORD warranty at all for suspension, steering parts, etc? Also, are there shops around my area (Minneapolis, MN) area that put these in that you know of? And, IF I have this done, how much can I expect to pay to have someone do this?

    • @americantrucks
      @americantrucks  4 года назад

      I would ask your specific dealership on how they feel about modifications such as a small leveling kit like this, if you're worried about voiding the warranty on your truck. I've seen some dealerships that are okay with small spacers, and others that are not. Since we aren't based in the Midwest I don't have any specific recommendations for shops, but any local 4x4 or truck specific mechanic would be best since they will have more experience working with aftermarket parts such as these. Shop rates vary depending on location, but you're easily looking at a couple hundred dollars to get these installed for you. Hope this helps! -Zach

    • @zachhopkins9719
      @zachhopkins9719 4 месяца назад +1

      It’ll be close but also the upper ball joint will be at an extreme angle casing it to need replacing or the boot tearing sooner than otherwise. I only went with a 2” level but got a few years out of the suspension components before needing replacement. A new Upper Control arm will definitely help with clearance and angles but sometimes affects tire clearance. And your CV angle isn’t corrected with the UCA so constant 4x4 use might cause problems with 2.5 or more.
